We've stayed with Adler at their Sicily resort a few times and thought we'd try the hotel in Ortesei for some Alpine scenery and walking. I think their first hotel opened in the 1820's - the one we stayed in (I think) - and the family ownership continues to present day with all that experience and commitment producing a guest experience that's hard to better. The staff are exactly what I would expect ; alert, attentive and friendly but never intrusive. The quality of everything from toiletries to floor finishes is second to none and the meals are prepared by an absolutely top class kitchen. We've found this now in two of their establishments and have booked to visit another in a couple of months. They're not the cheapest for sure but I don't think even the pickiest guest will be disappointed.

When you book a five star resort, you expect a high level of service. Upon arrival, it felt very unwelcoming. We booked this for a special celebration, which we noted in the notes. Other guests upon arrival received glasses of champagne, we did not.
It’s a very large resort, we were given no explanation of the layout or amenities.
Our room was on the 2nd floor with no patio or view which was extremely loud late into the evenings and in the early morning from street traffic or drunk patrons on the streets. No AC ,so we had to keep windows open which was bright and loud. No ear plugs or eye masks in room.
Amenities in the room weren’t available or were broken, so we had to go down to the desk multiple times for requests which felt like a hassle to the staff and us.
The benefits are the adult only spa area, free parking, free e-bike rentals & conveniently located in the center of town. A room without a view isn’t worth it at the high cost they charge, even In the off season. This resort seems more suited for families, lots of children, messes, noise, and chaos in the dining areas.
Overall this was a lower quality 5 star hotel of our travels in Italy. Our recommendation would be to stay somewhere else for a quiet romantic peaceful scenic getaway in the Dolomites.

If you could get 10 stars, you would deserve them all. The guest here is chocolate from every point of view. This experience is worth having once in a lifetime, after which you live it every year.

Relaxation of dreams...... Being a guest in this hotel is like being in paradise. The SPA is a huge place and it is absolutely charming, something to do once in a lifetime. The restaurants are generally TOP in kindness and seriousness. 5 stars are not enough at least 10 for me is worth it.

I may be biased as I am now a regular customer. But this is truly the perfect place for a holiday or even just a weekend. Beautiful rooms, beautiful newly renovated spa, great restaurant! This is value for money that you can't find in this range of hotels.

The structure is very large and hosts about 150 rooms. Completely renovated, it is a mix of classic and modern furnishings. We stayed at the Vital Residence, very quiet and easy to reach even directly from the town center. The new SPA is perfect, spacious with many cabins, the therapists are all great professionals. The steam baths, saunas and calidarium are located in a cave dug into the rock and surmounted by a starry sky. The panoramic sauna is beautiful. The only flaw: the lack of a tub of frozen reaction water. Perfect cleaning, extreme courtesy of the staff. Large breakfast buffet, less varied selection of salads at lunch but compensates for the proposal of hot dishes. The cuisine is healthy and refined, the flavors delicate (perhaps even too much). Highly recommended.

Everything about this hotel was absolutely perfect- the rooms, the staff friendliness, the service, the pool, and the spa. When we arrived we had just spent a week in Munich and Austria. People in Munich were not very friendly. Once we got to Austria- people were much more friendly-but once we got to Adler Hotel Ortesei-people we phenomenal. They were kind, professional, helpful, everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel.
The location is perfect walkability to everything.
The bath products in each room were amazing. I wish I had a checked bag so I could have taken home the left overs.
The beds were comfortable. Linens were perfect weight.
The rooms were extremely clean. I can not wait to come back to Ortesei and will for sure be staying at the Adler.
Me and my children loved the pools. I loved the warm pool the best. To just stare at the gorgeous views in a warm pool after a day of hiking-seriously heavenly.
We were concerned about being only English speaking. However everyone we worked with was fluent in English. We were however the only guests that only spoke English at the resort. It was still easy to chat with everyone. Apparently we went during a time that is popular with local tourists.
Do not think twice about staying at Adler Ortesei

Incredible on all fronts. From the location to the amenities, from the exceptionally friendly staff to the exquisite food… this hotel is one of those rare jewels that exceeds a 5 star experience.
