Great views of the Gulf of the poets, very nice people. We loved Porto Venere, and there's a very short walk to the main town from the hotel. The ferry ride to Cinque Terre has great views, and La Spezia is just a quick bus ride away. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant but the food in town is very very good.

What a wonderful find! After the craziness of the 5 villages in Cinque Terre, Hotel Paradiso was just what we needed. Hotel is set in a beautiful location, rooms are clean and comfortable and the terrace is wonderful for a drink. But what makes this hotel is the staff. Breakfast options offered a wide variety of food items and all was fresh. Location was ideal as it was a couple of min from the beach and about a 5-10 min walk to the centre. Restaurants and bars were plentiful. We loved this location moreso than any of the CinqueTerre.

Lovely location, amazing views for this quaint hotel. Staff was very friendly. The name is a bit confusing when locating the hotel via Google maps. It is seen as a restaurant not a hotel. It is both actually. Breakfast had many options... Eggs, bacon, croissants, other typical Italian sweets, meats and cheeses. Only note: eggs were cold, coffee was slightly warm. We spent our honeymoon here and were blown away at the care of the staff and experience. The location is incredible.

This place is great. The views are spectacular and I think the location (near the end of the strip) is perfect. The hotel itself could use an upgrade but when you spend most of the time at the beach or hiking, the room isn't my first concern. I'd stay here again.

We rented with Alessio the 5.80 meters new engine boat. The place is not exactly easy to find, Google map didn't go to his door! The ship was immaculate, brand new. After the information and safety mesure, and a tour of 4he boat it was just an amazing day with the family. Cost including fuel was 220 (we go slow and easy). Extremely attentive staff. The room had a view on the sea and it was very beautiful during the day but also during the night with the lights reflecting on the water. My travel agent booked me here for a “da sola” trip. From the minute I walked in the door to my exit three days later, everything was perfect. We stayed for one night in Colonna 24 and it was amazing! We arrived by car on a Sunday afternoon and we struggled to find a parking space. We rang Colonna 24 and they helped us immediately in finding a car park they have a deal with for their guests. We stayed 2 nights at Colonna 24 and it was a great choice. Very clean and spacious rooms, with own aircon, 2min from the main attractions of Portovenere. Paolo was very kind to upgrade our room and Giovanni made sure we had the best time in Portovenere. He even managed to book us a very swanky restaurant that was fully booked. We would definitely stay there again!

The location is simply outstanding, with a wonderful view of the sea "golfo dei poeti". The breakfast is very good, with an wide choice of both salty and sweet food. The staff has solved one of my worse problem, i.e. to find a parking for my car! Thank you so much!! Last, but not least, the room was comfortable, clean and silent.

Excellent location close to ferry terminal. The restaurant right below Belvedere ( not a part of the hotel) on the seaside serves delicious food. Disappointed with our 5 day stay at this hotel. Unfortunately the promenade outside is under construction which will be fabulous when finished but atm there are views of diggers and workers. The restaurant serves mainly fish with very few alternatives for non fish eaters. Room 309 is very small with twin beds and the view out of the window is non existent. Great location by the marina in La Grazie (not Portovenere proper which is a 10 minute drive away at the other side of the peninsular) and it is a pleasant walk around the bay. There is street parking outside - not a problem in winter, but I suspect that finding a park in summer might be harder. The rooms are large and spacious, the shower in the bathroom, less so. La Spezia is a short drive away....

My daughter and I stayed there while on a trip to Cinque Terra. The family run hotel was excellent. The home made meals were a nice break from the more commercial meals and absolutely delicious.

I had the best food I've ever eaten in this hotel. I stayed with a tour group, and the lovely owner made us lasagna for dinner. 6 months later and I STILL think of how delicious it was. The hotel was cute, not the worst I've ever stayed in. I'd give the lasagna 100 stars if I could.

A really nice stone house, inhabited by fishermen in the past. You get a very clear view (especially at dawn) of the San Pietro roman gothic church of Portovenere and of the La Spezia gulf. Owner was nice and the island was exquisite, it has two or three mountain-like routes you might want to follow while there and lays close to plenty of amazing locations reachable by guided tours. police ticketing cameras right outside front entrance of hotel, do not go near the hotel with a rental car, $200 fine. Staff should tell customers not to drive near the hotel, there is a very cramped parkade nearby that is difficult to drive out of, very small exits. Parking up the street , check signs, rules are different in Europe.

Unfortunately, my experience at Porto Venere and the hotel connected to it was disappointing in many ways. When I arrived at the hotel, I had to wait an inordinate amount of time to check in, despite the time clearly indicated on the website. The person in charge of check-in was not present, and I had to wait for someone to come and open the door for me, which made the beginning of my stay very frustrating...

Recently stayed here and it was a wonderful small hotel. We emailed that we would arrive around 2pm and Philipe the owner was there to greet us at the door. The room was European in size but perfectly appointed and we had a lovely balcony that overlooked the town. I would highly recommend this hotel.

A lovely, small family hotel in a beautiful fishing port on the inlet leading to La Spezia, Italy. The rooms appear recently upgraded and we were provided with all the necessary requirements such as robes, slippers, good quality toileteries and a really comfy bed. The only negative is that, because of its limited size (in a tower) there is no lift to the rooms which are spread over 3 or more floors...

great place, do not pick up your luggage with a car near the hotel door, you will be charged a parking violation ticket....even if you are there 3 minutes. New and well-furnished rooms have a small terrace in each room, you can have breakfast in your room or in the garden below with a wonderful view over Portovenere, in the shade of the olive trees. It is useless to comment on the wonder of Porto Venere and the 5 Terre, if you are looking for a quiet place to wake up in the morning with the spectacular sea view, the residence I gabbiani is for you! Do not overlook the essential free covered parking!

Our stay in Portovenere was amazing! The Gabbiani residence is situated lovely, above the bay, which gives you a marvelous breakfast morning view over the bay area. The beach is right under the house, and you will walk there in 5 minutes. The sea is salty, crystal clear and wonderful! Take a short boat ride across the inlet to this seaside restaurant apparently frequented by many celebrities. Lots of covered outdoor seating nestled among the trees. A sweet breeze. Food is very good. Olive oil, great. Gluten free pasta pesto, great. Tiramisu is what tiramisu should be and the lemon sorbet should be on tap. Seafood appetizers were very fresh.

Nice place on the island of Palmaria. Boat taxi service avery 10/15 minutes will take you there. Very nice location and good food. Prices on the menu are adequate, just be careful if ordering fresh fish priced by weight...we had a surprise on that one.

I spent a few days in a delightful studio flat at the Marina del Fezzano. Located in the village of the same name, it enjoys the authenticity and tranquility of village life. Far from the confusion of the nearby and beautiful Portovenere, reachable in a few minutes by car. The use of public transport, which is frequent, is recommended. I loved my stay at Ostello Portovenere! The staff was some of the kindest hostel staff I have ever experienced. The price was very affordable, especially for this region. There is a perfect view of the town from the large commen room windows, and everything you might want to do around the area is highly accessible (Isla Palmaria, bus stop, ferry stops, shops, restaurants, etc.). I definitely recommend...

The bunk beds are really loud while moving just a little bit, but all in all the hostel is really nice, the view is great and there is free breakfast included!

Simple, clean, and had great views. It is only accessible by several stories of stone steps. If you have any mobility issues you might need to take the amount of stairs into consideration. There is also only paid public parking available so be prepared to walk or catch a bus after you park.

This place is phenomenal. The views are impeccable and the staff is amazing. They did run out of hot water and their WiFi was less than perfect but I still couldn't be happier with this place! I left my $500 glasses there and knew I'd probably never see them again. THEY SHIPPED THEM DIRECTLY TO MY DOORSTEP. I can't get over how amazing these people are.

Not 'traditional American' but traditional Italian, as you'd expect here. Very good food, nice twists to traditional recipes, nice wine, good price, recommended!! Tip: the tonno vitello is in fact an inverso vitello tonato (so now with tuna in veal sauce), very nice! See picture

At a wonderful location you’ll find a busy, but friendly and charming straff. The tuna I had for main was fabulous, one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. The wine recommendation was perfect and the dessert wine was outstanding. 100 %!

Delicious food, very kind staff. They were able to seat us inside without a reservation. With somewhat of a language barrier they took extra effort to confirm safety regarding food allergies, which was very appreciated.

Located in a cozy corner of the village, the restaurant offers a nice menu with a good wine choice. The quality/ price relation is pretty fair. Good service.
