Antico Convento Dei Cappuccini Hotel

As a couple we only ate at this exceptional high standard restaurant and do not know what type of experience one would have as a guest overnight. The hotel manager Signore Salvo Cucuzza is an excellent and informative resource a traveler could encounter. He spent a lot of one on one time with us, giving us the attention required to satisfy our inquisitive curiosity. We had an excellent conversation about the establishment, its importance in history, and the way contemporary cooking classes are structured there. Then came the cuisine, from the menu to our table we were intrigued by the diversity of dishes and the superb quality and creativity of freshness and flavors. Signore Cucuzza answered every question we had about the food and its origins, pairing the dishes with the proper and perfect combination of table wine. Meanwhile eating in the renovated chambers of old world charm in this monastery with original paintings on stone, transports the dinner to an unforgettable experience lasting a lifetime. The hotel was beautiful and historic, amazing to see. And the staff was very nice, helpful and friendly. They lent us an adapter for the outlets and tried to help where they could.

However, in our room the AC wasn’t working working properly and the shower would be on the verge of overflowing a bit fast so we had to shower very fast. Also there weren’t body mirrors in the rooms, it made getting ready for a wedding hard.

We found and tried this restaurant by chance, located inside Giardino Ibleo. Accurate service and kind and trained staff. All dishes have a "refined" touch and are unusual. The price is perhaps higher than average, depending on the type of kitchen. The simple environment is relaxing. Recommended for those looking for a kitchen that is cured and unusual👌

I have known this thought-provoking place full of history for some time. The long restoration of the former monastery of the Capuchin Fathers made the city something that could not be lost in our history. The monastery had existed here for two centuries before the nobles of Ragusa Ibla settled the Garden of Hyblaea near the monastery and the ancient church of Sant'Agata. Today, those corridors along which the monastery fathers no longer tread to retreat to the ancient cells are crossed by tourists who love to breathe the air of mystical solitude and holy peace (if from the inner garden of the building they overlook the Irminio valley). ancient flavors and recipes, reworked using local ingredients of the highest quality (if they sit for lunch or dinner at "Cenobio" - the still untouched refectory of the monks). Be sure to visit the small church of Sant'Agata because it has a prestigious altarpiece by Pietro Novelli and wooden inlays made of poor materials, especially since they are of precious quality. Here, sit down and ask for a glass of wine and some bread made from our ancient grains, Tumminìa, Russello, Mallorca... Then, if the appetite comes with eating, believe me, the chef will surprise you with taste!!!

Such a wonderful evening here, we stumbled upon Antico Convento in the gardens needing a meal with both vegetarian and gluten free options and oh my god we were blown away. The staff are amazing, so natural, helpful and witty. The food was inventive and delicious without trying too hard. To top it all off, the prices were so reasonable as was the quality. The best food in Sicily for two weeks. It's not easy to find anything gluten-free, let alone one that's gluten-free. I would give it 10 stars if I could. Special thanks to Eric, who helped us with the menu (we don't speak Italian well) without grumbling, and to the very witty waiter who stood at the door.

The restaurant was chosen for our daughter's christening. The spectacular setting of the Ibley Mountains served as a calling card for so much more: the exquisite presentation of the gourmet menu (delighted by all guests), the spartan elegance of the unique location and the friendly service of the staff made the event even more memorable. Highly recommended for those who want to make an important event unique, be it a dinner for two or a large celebration of the occasion. Perfect!

Incredibile dining experience in this gorgeous old convent located in Ragusa Ibla Giardini. Original frescoes in the dining room, outstanding service. Truly memorable gastronomy.
