Reviews
The pool is big and offers a decent amount of chairs. The breakfast buffet was acceptable and offered a wide choice, even though I personally didn’t get the separation in the restaurant between premium and basic rooms.
However, the state of the hotel, and especially the older building containing the basic rooms, is extremely old and outdated and reminds of the 70s. I feel like this is not highlighted sufficiently throughout booking platforms like Booking.com and Agoda.
The basic rooms do not have air conditioning, which makes the room unbearably hot and extremely uncomfortable to sleep in during warmer periods. We even considered sleeping on the balcony.
Also the bathroom is quite small and cramped and the design somehow prevents the door from opening completely such that two people can’t really use it at the same time.
The walls to other rooms and the hallway are pretty thin, such that noise is transmitted easily into the room (often due to the heavy room keys being used by other guests). The water pipes are quiet loud as well.
Unfortunately, the customer service was also not ideal for us. Upon a request if any lower level basic rooms would still be available to change to from our hot higher level basic room, I only got a „No, it’s August, we’re booked out!“.
While I understand that all rooms are booked out during high season, I would have expected a more proactive response to try and find a good solution for our problem.
All in all, the value for money didn’t match for us.
They are not willing to give another room without any extra payment from our side. They said, that in that case everybody comes and ask for another room. In my opinion, not a good way of dealing with customers and guests.
Second point are very bad and loud water pipes. You feel like you sleep in the bathroom from the room beside. This is so much louder than the traffic at the main road below the window.
At all not a good start in the holiday at Garda lake.
Rooms are clean but very old and needs a Deeply renovation.
It’s seems like it is plan from hotel to give bad rooms to the customers. After an excuse they offer better rooms for extra costs. You feel like ripped off.
Several key amenities were broken:
The ceiling fan didn’t work, making the room uncomfortable.
The hairdryer was non-functional.
The bathroom was tiny, far smaller than suggested in the photos — likely hidden or misrepresented intentionally.
Overall, the price I paid was far too high for the quality and condition of the room. I expected much better based on the Booking.com listing. I’ve contacted customer support to request compensation due to these issues.
Would not recommend unless the hotel updates its facilities and improves transparency in how it presents rooms online.
What surprised us most with the hotel was the absence of aircondition on our room. We barely couldn’t sleep due to the heat. We borrowed a fan from the reception next day, but it was still too hot for comfort.
I think some reviewers have confused the two.
This La Perla is 100 yards from the beach areas and a 10min walk from the centre of Riva Del Garda.
This hotel looks and feels superior to it's 3 star rating. The staff are amazing, the rooms are spacious, quiet and comfortable.
Breakfast has great variety and the bar area is large and comfy with a great menu of drinks and snacks.
The pool is a good size with hammocks and loungers.
The whole hotel is modern and spotless, and the location is excellent.
It is located on a main road, there is no gym and they only do breakfast, there is no evening restaurant, however there are plenty of places to eat along the street.
This is child free hotel, so it's quiet! I'm so pleased we booked La Perla, I'd definitely come back.
