Nice hotel, great food although it's not a spa!!! The spa is across the road and you have to pay to use it.

Nice little hotel. Here with work for a ski trip. Staff are nice and its comfortable. The rooms are kept very warm. Slightly dated, but its very close to village centre, the breakfast is fair, they provide shuttles to the ski lift. Theres a spa which costs a bit more which is not bad at all.

Stayed here with 5 friends on a lads ski weekend. Nothing to complain about. It's got a bit of a 1970's feel to it and has this weird circular construction like a prison (see photo) but don't let that put you off. Good, clean hotel with friendly staff. Definitely not a four star though, our double bed was made up of two cheap singles put together with a gap make the Grand Canyon small! Would I recommend, yes if you don’t have the beds we had.

Staff couldn’t have been more helpful, breakfast was great with a huge selection. They also - much to our surprise - put on a very early 5am breakfast on the weekend for departures day. We were also able to check in early as our room was ready.

Very nice, did take long for our rooms to be ready and the skii equipment is left in an open room, didnt feel safe about that. Bed are okay, bit bumpy. But very nice resturant and pub.

On the positive side the Grand Hotel Besson has a very nice bar with great alpine views. The mattresses and bed linen was also good quality and notwithstanding delivery issues our food was excellent. Mattresses aside the hotel however had a low standard of accommodation for a 4* rating and price. This included poor noise insulation, outdated bathrooms in need of renovation, no hotel or guest info...

Not only is the hotel a nice place to relax, with good food but the staff were amazing and very kind. I was taken ill whilst skiing and they arranged a doctor without fuss. Can't recommend it enough.

The hotel is four star... What a joke, three stars and that's at best. The good: excellent position, nice(ish) bar area, some good staff. The bad: hotel is very very tired, the breakfast is terrible, the breakfast manager is aggressive, the showers are so small you can't pick up the soap if you drop it, yet the bathrooms are big! As I said, should be downgraded to a three star, if not a two.

We went to the Spa. The place was quite enjoyable, and the people working there also. Highly recommended.

A first class hotel opposite the Clotes lift. The rooms are well appointed with great batbrooms and comfortable beds. The owners and staff are very friendly and welcoming and the ski shop next door also owned by the same family was excellent.

We have travelled from the UK for many years and always stayed in Stella Alpina. It is a family run hotel based just metres from the ski lift which takes you all over the mountain. Definitely recommend.

I go every year to this beautiful hotel it's spotlessly clean with great food. The staff are friendly and very courteous.its also in a wonderful location when the snow is good you can ski almost to the door

Enjoyed my skiing trip staying here. Food was standard but tasty. Enjoyed beer and bombardinos in the bar. Rooms are very warm.

Stayed here several times, latest, last night. Caroline and her staff are great hosts, very welcoming and accommodating. The rooms are clean and very comfortable, the food is excellent, the Scotch Bar is popular and to top it all it is across the road from the Clotes ski lift and ski run

Breakfast was very nice, varied and sufficient, even able to make a small sandwich to take with us at lunchtime. The staff however were excellent and very attentive and helped us with all our needs. Mario the taxi bus driver was amazing. Very clean and tidy hotel, good location, even being out of town wasn’t an issue, especially thanks to the shuttle bus service. Would happily stay again.

Gigi was above and beyond and would ferry us to and from the town at pretty much anytime. Good was good in evening. Breakfast was continental but as much as you wanted. Room was very clean and all staff friendly.

It’s a bit out of the way and certainly not fancy but Erica, Gigi and all the other staff arc extremely helpful and accommodating. The food is quick, good and plentiful. The shuttle into town and to the slopes is on demand all day and evening. It’s a favourite with schools so everyone is fighting for the WiFi. There’s board games, table football and ping pong. A great place to stay directly on the piste! What a way to start the day - opening the curtains and seeing the gorgeous mountains in early-morning light, watching the chairlifts come to life, the 1st skiers going by. Everything was pretty much perfect, from the pick-up at the train station in Oulx to the snowmobile ride up the slopes to the hotel. Breakfast was huge, full of fresh baked goods and eggs...

Nice and clean hotel close both to the lift and to the village. Very friendly and helpful staff. Appreciated the afternoon tea and snacks in the evening. Small rooms but a nice lounge where we could sit and play cards in the evening.

A nice clean hotel with decent facilities. Staff are friendly and breakfast is good....make your own waffles, cereals, cold meats and cheese..sausage bacon boiled eggs...and for those with a sweet tooth a variety of cakes...the rooms are quite small but have everything you need and there is storage under the bed...it's ski in not sure about ski out but that could be because there's not as much snow...

Nice, decent rooms. Fine breakfast, included. Just next to the lift. 25 meters from a ski rental shop, where you get 20% discount when staying at clothes. Nothing to complain about so far. They also arranged transport from the airport, and ski passes.

Great hotel for families. We stayed here in January 2018 with 2 kids. The hotel staff were very helpful and accommodating. Anything we asked for was no problem. The restaurant served nice variety of food, and the children enjoyed it too. When one child was sick they brought food to the room for him. Stayed here for a week at the end of December /start of January and had a very pleasant stay here with my brother. Staff were very helpful, friendly and always had a smile to greet us. Lovely authentic and charming place made in wood and rocks in the heart at Sauze d’Oulx. Warm, welcoming and highly service minded staff focusing on making you feel at home. Just tried the the restaurant while skiing, came 3 days, very good pizza, and pasta, ideal for noon break, ideally located in the middle of the domain, with direct access to ropeways seats, and the slope back to town.

The place is super nice and cozy, but I have to criticize if you are going there as a family. The beds are extremely close to each other and there's a lack of space and plugs to charge your devices. Absolute incredible customer service by the Lady owner. I was struggling with some worrying chest pain on a Saturday and she went above and beyond calling around doctors in the area to reserve me a booking in Oulx. The most excellent stay - spent 7 nights here as part of a package Ski Deal booked with Crystal ski. The hotel is a 90 second walk to the main town. It is approximately a 5 min walk from the local ski lift - or a 5 min bus ride to the Sportinia ski lift. We had a great stay here, the owner was incredibly helpful & welcoming, she's the reason we'll be coming back! The rooms had everything you'd need & the breakfast was always fresh! It's only a short walk to the nearest ski lift, and the hotel has a heated ski and boot storage room.

Nice staff and very quite area. You hear everything from the hall in the room, but at least when we were there the other guests were weary quite and it was not a problem at all.

Just home from a week in Sauz. Our party of 9 had a wonderful time on the slopes and were so well looked after by the Gran Baita staff. The food was amazing and they even catered for our two vegans. Fantastic stay at this family run hotel. There may be better hotels on resort, but I think you will find it hard to find a friendlier one. Food was well presented and plentiful. You will not regret giving this one a try.
