Avoid at All Costs – Disgusting Hygiene, Rude Staff, and Total Disregard for Guests

Our experience at Hotel Principi di Piemonte in Sestriere was beyond appalling. I would strongly advise anyone considering a stay here to look elsewhere—this place is a disaster from start to finish.

Shocking Hygiene Standards

The most alarming issue was the complete lack of basic hygiene in the restaurant. Staff were repeatedly seen wiping their noses and mouths before handling cutlery, serviettes, and even food. A chef was spotted coughing into his glove and then using that same glove to serve food without changing it. To make matters worse, the manager or owner was seen walking around the buffet, helping herself to pastries with her bare hands and eating them while standing over the food. This level of disregard for cleanliness is absolutely unacceptable.

Rude, Unhelpful Staff & Management

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that customer service is not a priority here. Many of the staff were outright rude and dismissive, treating the majority of our large group poorly—one can only assume it was due to the colour of our skin, as others were being treated as you would expect. Any reasonable request was met with an attitude, and the management’s arrogance was astonishing.

Exploiting Guests – The Water Scam

One of the biggest scams we encountered was being told that the tap water wasn’t drinkable, forcing guests to buy overpriced bottled water. There was no valid explanation for this, and it was clearly a money-making scheme at the expense of unsuspecting visitors. Many of us did drink the tap water and none of us experienced any ill health because of it.

Disgusting Food & Inedible Options

The food quality was appalling. Poorly cooked, bland, and utterly unappetizing. But the worst part? Guests leaving early in the morning were provided with ham sandwiches for breakfast. For those who don’t eat pork, the hotel’s “alternative” was beyond insulting—stale courgettes in dry bread. This lack of care and basic accommodation for dietary needs was disgraceful.

Rooms Left Filthy

Housekeeping was equally incompetent. Rooms were not cleaned properly, with visible dust, grime, and unemptied bins. For a so-called high-end hotel, this was simply unacceptable.

Final Verdict – A Hotel to Avoid

This hotel is a disgrace to the hospitality industry. From shocking hygiene violations to openly rude and exploitative staff, our stay was nothing short of a nightmare. Save yourself the frustration, disappointment, and potential food poisoning—stay anywhere else but here.
