Best part of Italy trip! The room faced the lake. Door to varanda open day and night to calm and beauty. Loved the town It was quiet and small but there was room to walk, the food at this hotel is exceptional. If you need a vacation from your vacation or your life please come here!

Dinner: staff was very friendly and helped us make a reservation. We sat outside on a covered terrace, beautiful views and atmosphere. The food is obviously very high quality and prepared well, the only thing to note is that it is more artistic expression of Italian cooking. There is not simple pastas/recipes on the menu, it is very elevated. If that is what you like, you will LOVE this! If you are looking for more straightforward/classic cuisine, this would not be that. Staff notably kind throughout our experience.

We stayed at one of the apartments (Carlotta) just up the hill from the train station. The apartment is spacious with gorgeous views, fully stocked kitchen, and the convenience of being close to the train station, the center of town and ferries. It is a little bit of a trek up the hill but certainly worth it. The AC isn’t as strong as other places we’ve stayed but since we’re right by the lake we didn’t get too warm. The views from the terraces are also to die for, just stunning. We added the honeymoon package to our stay as well and truly enjoyed that extra bit fun! Would stay again!

Our experience at Albergo Milano was wonderful and amazing! The location of the hotel was in a pretty good area. Slightly away from the main busy area. Amazing views of the lake. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.

The rooms: We stayed in the apartment over the 3 arches that was a couple of minutes away from the hotel. Our other party stayed in the main building of the hotel. Both rooms had great outdoor patio spaces. This was nice to use to have a quiet moment outside away from the crowds. The apartment we stayed in was great although the steps inside to the bedroom were super steep (spiral staircase).

The food: We had dinner at the hotel for both nights we were there and the food was so tasty and fresh. Great variety on the menu. The hotel itself felt very adult and romantic since there were quite a few couples at dinner. The breakfast buffet in the morning had good variety as well. The coffee was so good and rich. The outdoor seating area offered great views of the lake and the rest of the town.

I highly recommend this place to anyone staying in Varenna!

Beautiful hotel, easy to locate with all the amenities you need: large shower, clothes line, sink stopper, blow dryer, safe, fan, ac, etc. wonderful and helpful staff. Free continental breakfast and a lovely restaurant with a great view below. Splurge for the terrace. It felt private most all the time and was wonderful for laying out and enjoying wine, taking in the wonderful como weather. Our only complaints are that the bed is miserable, like sleeping on a hard cot with a bulge in the middle. We did not sleep well. Also, the housekeeper was a bit too intrusive as she never knocked and would just walk into the room then apologize when she saw us in there. Simply knock and the problem is solved. She walked in on us twice. I will say this tenacity allowed us to check in before noon, which was very convenient.

Amazing views from our balcony! The rooms were so clean and tidy and the staff were so helpful before and during our stay! We would definitely stay again and will be recommending to anyone who wants to stay in varenna!

Absolutely loved this hotel! We were only there for one night but I could have stayed for many more. The location is unbeatable (right on the water in the main area but an easy walk to the train and ferries), the view is amazing, the breakfast was so good, and the people were incredibly kind. I can’t say enough good things! Looking forward to coming back in the future

Beautiful hotel right on the water, staff very welcoming, very clean and professional, elevated restaurant terrace overlooking lake como excellent for lunch or dinner, breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend getting lake view room with balcony, worth it! Hotel manager gave us delicious cookies as parting gift! 10 min walk or quick cab to the hotel, ferry is 2 mins away. In my humble opinion Varenna is the best location for a base to explore lake como. Stay if you can

We stayed for three nights in this rather small but very cozy hotel. Our room was very nice with a beautiful bathroom and a small balcony with lake view. The beds were surprisingly comfortable! The breakfast and dinner options were plenty and the personnel very friendly. One small critique point: While the coffee at the breakfast buffet was decent, there's still room for improvement!

We had a great stay here! The side lake view room we booked had a wonderful view of the lake from the balcony. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was excellent.
