Hotel Malibran

I recently stayed at Hotel Malibran and overall had a very pleasant experience. The hotel is located in an extremely central area of Venice, just steps away from the main tourist spots and very close to the big shopping district. Honestly, the location couldn’t be better—you can walk everywhere, and it makes exploring the city incredibly easy.

The building itself is quite old and would definitely benefit from some renovation, but despite that, the hotel is exceptionally clean. The housekeeping team does an amazing job; my room was spotless every single day, which really made the stay feel comfortable.

Breakfast was another highlight. There was a very good variety of options, and everything was fresh and well-prepared—perfect for starting a busy day of sightseeing.

Overall, if you’re looking for a hotel in the best possible location in Venice, with great cleanliness and a solid breakfast, Hotel Malibran is a very good choice.

The room was super clean! The staff was super friendly, breakfast was ok. Hot water wasn't hot enough for us, we didn't ask them to fix that as we stayed only for one night. Recommended!

We stayed for 2 nights end of August 2025. We chose this hotel off of a hotel site and were very pleased. We wanted a hotel that reflected the culture of Venice and this did. The desk help was very helpful and gave us recommendations for things to see. We ate in the restaurant one night and the food was good. On our departure, the manager called us a water taxi and led us to the location for pickup. It would have been hard to find otherwise.

Hotel Malibran is a cute gem tucked away in a quiet corner but located very centrally, less than 10 min. away from the Rialto station, so you get very tranquil nights while still being within walking distance from the main touristy areas. The rooms are comfortable, spacious, and decorated in fantastic Venetian style. The AC is great and the linen is clean and new. The bathroom is on the smaller size but since it's an old building it's reasonable—it is still very clean and hygienic. I honestly had a wonderful experience here without breaking my budget (breakfast is included and has many options). I highly recommend!

3.5/5 but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and round it up to 4.

The hotel's location is tough to beat as it's centrally located in the Cannaregio district close to the Rialto Bridge. That makes it super convenient as a base to explore the city. Everything is walkable from this hotel. 5/5 for location!

The included daily breakfast is great. They give you a lot of food so you don't have to eat the same breakfast twice in a row unless you want to. Rolls, croissants, breads, cold cuts, cheese, fruits, yogurt, homemade desserts, hot hard boiled eggs, etc. and two coffee machines that will make you an espresso, cappucino, or anything else you want. It's a good selection. The staff is friendly. So 4/5 for service.

The rooms though, leave something to be desired. It's an old hotel and the rooms very much reflect that. I stayed in a single room on the 3rd floor in June 2025 and it was clean and comfortable enough but smelled a bit funny, had awful water pressure, and the AC worked but was quite ancient. I overheard a guest checking into the 2nd floor asking about rooms with new bathrooms, so it seems they're in the process of doing some improvements. The rooms are certainly grungy and old, so if you're a neat freak or a hypochondriac, these rooms won't be for you. In their current state, it's a 3/5 and that's being generous.

So overall, OK hotel in an excellent location with great service. Would I book again? Probably unless I find a better property at the same price. I guess that says everything right?

Receptionist and a boy (waiter) behave us very kindly. They are so helpfull. The room is so clean. The break Fast is good.

Location of the hotel is good. Everything is close by. It’s very old but I guess we were lucky to have good mattresses. The service is good and the breakfast was great. The staff was very friendly. And they have a very good coffee.
