Old Mill Hotel in Klaipeda

Stayed for 2 nights as a base to go over to the beautiful Curonian Spit. Great location - 5 mins walk to the old ferry wharf. Friendly helpful staff. Nice view out to the water from my room and restaurant. Simple but tasty breakfast. Good value.

It was good, we didn’t read well enough to understand that it is actually a very modern hotel. We were looking for character more on this trip, and the outside and name sounded more like that. It was fine and comfortable (though tight, as most European hotel rooms are), but there were a few tiny issues that make me not want to say excellent. The staff were absolutely excellent though, and they actually had a few places for parking that we were lucky enough to access.

4 stars just A smaller room than our other Intrepid Tour hotel stays. The room window could be opened and we had full control over the effective room air con. This was needed as the bed quilts are again too thick / hot. No room safe. A sole, very slow lift. An in room, compressor run, small fridge that ran mostly too cold for my temp sensitive medications and I could not find the thermostat. The hotel front desk separately managed my day travel, freezer pack. Breakfast on both a Saturday and the Sunday did not start until a too late 8 am and tour groups (eg Intrepid, etc) need to be packed and gone by 9 am = not helpful. The coffee machines on Sunday 01 June kept tripping the electrics too. The cooked hot food was not able to be kept food safe warm on either of our two mornings there. The sole bread toaster was so slow to toast. Two of the four bedside lights in Room 305 were not working. I reported this when checking out on 01 June. Fixed now?? The curtains in our room struggled to come together to effectively keep out the long summer daylight. We were told on checking in that the hotel’s “restaurant” was open for dinner but we were turned away on Saturday night, 30 May at 7 pm as the room was only serving another tour group. Maybe the up market restaurant in the neighbouring building (also run by the hotel?) was what was open?? We walked into town and ate there. Poor / annoying communication.

This hotel was booked for us by our cycling tour group. The hotel is perfectly located, near the port and ferry, and an easy stroll from the main street with lots of restaurants. Our room overlooked the walking bridge that gets turned every hour to let boats through -interesting to watch. The Old Mill is - no surprise - an old building, but the rooms are totally renovated. The bathroom and shower are great. Windows open for the fresh sea air. Recommended!

Amazing hotel in center of Klaipeda.Very polite receptionist.Great interior.Modern and clean rooms.Breakfast bar had plenty of choice .Close walk to town.All family of 6 had 3 rooms which amazigly was alocated to us in few minutes.Definately would recomend!

My room was just so cosy, can't get over it up to this day. It was clean, tidy and again very cosy. The view thru the window was so calming as you can see a little harbour. The bed was very comfy so you will have a good nights rest. The breakfast options were rather poor tho. But other than that - just pure perfection. Would highly recomend to stay here.
