Hotel Miķelis in Grenctale

The family room was very comfortable, breakfast - very good, the dinner dishes at the restaurant - also very good. Situated near Musa river, the picturesque place.

Nature and peace, but nature has not only pluses, but also some minuses - a lot of mosquitoes and flies.
On a hot day - the air conditioning system in the room is very lacking - it is quite hot. Although the windows have nets, this is not an obstacle for very thirsty mosquitoes 😁 to get inside the room, because the net is not properly attached and there are gaps.
The staff is helpful and friendly. Speaks well in English.
There is a great restaurant next door, a retro car museum and a small outdoor ethnographic museum.
Breakfast, although relatively small in choice, but definitely you can find and choose from tasty meals and is excellent with especially strong and delicious coffee.
Overall - it's a nice hotel and definitely it was worth of staying here.

Unfortunately we were only there for one night. The hotel is very new and has a great standard. The view of nature from the rooms is so relaxing. We had a very good meal in the hotel's own restaurant.
The adjoining open-air museum is well worth a visit. We can recommend the hotel without exception.

Fantastic place. Very beautiful. Everything is well kept up, and the staff are very kind would reccommend for sure. Breakfast was incredible too. It's a bit out of the way of everything, but maybe that's a good thing if that's what you're looking for.

Very nice place for overnight stop by in Via Baltica. Tranquille location in the country side not too far from main roads.

Electric vehicle charging in one parking slot. If available will speed-up the next day's travel nicely.

Great place to stay out in the countryside. Close to the Rundale palace. Great restaurant for breakfast and for dinner.

A wonderful place to leisurely enjoy your vacation. Beautifully maintained, floral greenery, nature, bird sounds, we really liked it. the hotel is clean with a beautiful view of nature. the restaurant is charming. we spent a nice day with the kids here.

An excellent location which is close to main traffic roads in Zemgale region and quietness with countryside feeling at the same time. The reception, breakfast hall and a restaurant is located in a separate building, which helps to keep the environment around the hotel rather quiet. Good continental breakfast (Swedish table) including fresh salad, ham, cheese, eggs, juice, pancakes and pastries, which slighly varied from day to day. The food at the restaurant was well prepared and the waiter was great. Small pond with fishes, green surroundings and bird songs.

Since this is a two floor block-type hotel and some of the rooms have a terrace next to pond, the quietness and atmosphere might be impacted by other guests right under your open window (in case you have a superior room on the 2nd floor) or a footstep from your terrace door (in case you have a terrace yourself). In a sunny weather the room warms up pretty quick, but there is no air-conditioning and the only chance to sleep well is open the hotel door to generate air flow. Lack of some small seating area in a superior room.

Pro:
The location is really nice, in the middle of the fields and close to a river. In the morning it´s possible to visit a tractor museum and typical farm houses, all included in the property.
There was a buffet for breakfast. Good quality and good choice of drinks/foods. They have also baby chairs.
Con´s:
the rooms complex is separated from breakfast building, so you need to walk outside (to be noted, in case of cold weather or rain). Also the rooms don´t have an internal corridor but all rooms are opening on an external corridor. Having a big family, we slept in 2 rooms but it was inconvenient to go from one room to another passing externally.
