The Ibis Riga Centre is a vibrant hotel that has recently been refurbished into one of the outstanding midscale hotels in the centre of Riga, 90 meters from Central Station. A hotel used to be here eversince it was built in 1895 by Karl Johan Felsko. The inspiring design of our rooms, the modern Book Lounge and the charming round the clock light meal restaurant represent the new concept of the ibis brand. Riga old town, Freedom monument are within a 500 m radius.

First of all, I came directly from the airport and took bus No. 22, which was very convenient. I checked in at midnight, and the front desk was very enthusiastic. I forgot to bring my charger, and he lent it to me. The breakfast of this hotel is also very suitable for my appetite, which may be the same all over the world.
Room space very cram. Access walkway to lift alley challenging. Breakfast food varieties ok.
Cons: The design of the hotel is complicated. Getting to the lifts itself is a labyrinth. There's ups and downs and dark parts and lonely parts - I would assume that it would be difficult for the elderly.
The breakfast area is strange. The buffet is spread at one place and the actual dining area is away. The tea/coffee machines are at another place. So it's a bit messy.
Getting there was difficult. We took a bus from the airport and got down at the closest bus stop. However, the last few meters were very difficult (for no fault of the hotel). I had lag my heavy suitcase down and up the underground path. Just adding it here in case someone needs the info. Take a taxi from the bus stop/airport if you have heavy luggage.
We’ve been in other hotels of this chain and this one is by far the most spartan.
The floors are extremely creaky, and the windows of the rooms look directly out on other rooms, so you really can’t keep them open if you want some privacy.
There’s a general lack of care for details (no big enough mugs in the breakfast room next to the coffee machine for the amount of drink it produces, no hand soap in the room so you have to use the body wash, power outlets only on one side of the bed).
All of that said, the hotel is clean, the staff is nice and the breakfast isn’t bad: it’s okay if you want to visit the city on a budget!
