Rangkaian Hotel Seri Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Alor Setar

I stayed at this hotel in September 2025. Lobby smelled like wet rug when i first stepped in. Checking in was easy and fast as i booked online, so the process took around 5 minutes. Location is good. Parking is pretty small, not enough space to park in the hotel area. Towels are prepared, no odors in the room and beds. Iron, ironing board and mini fridge was available in the room. Good amount of space in room to perform prayers (sejadah and translated Quran provided). Wifi is okay.

However, the hotel room and toilet was not that great.

1. There were barely any lights across the hallway so it's very dark and seems haunted.
2. No rug was placed outside of the bathroom, floors get wet every time people got out of the toilet.
3. I can let out more saliva when i sneeze than the showerhead. Water pressure is just bad.
4. The wall tiles in the toilet are straight up disgusting but still bearable, looks like the last time they were scrubbed was years ago.
6. Only 2 electrical plug available with 1 being connected to the tv, which leaves us to only 1 plug available.
7. Loud banging/ knocking and running noises can be heard for almost 10 minutes straight around 1am. It's probably the ghost but it was a bad experience.
8. No tissues.
9. Stairs are dirty.

I've read bad reviews from years ago expecting a better hotel room but most of their complaints matches my complaints now. Hotel Seri Malaysia, do you not take consideration into your customers complaints? We all know the answer. It's understandable that it is an old hotel but cleanliness still needs to be given priorities unless your goal is to attract more rats than customers.

Location is superb .. at the center of Alor Setar town .. but the management never want to capitalize this advantage and let this hotel rotten. I would suggest to change the name because it doesn't reflect Malaysian identity and damage Malaysia name to foreign visitors because it's in a poor state and poor conditions. The bath towels deserve to be floor mats.

Check in family room with 4 adults for 1 night, 2 - 3/4/2025:
1. 2 staffs at reception with straight face, (no welcome or smiling gestures) arrange for my check in documentation but take some time (about 15 - 30 mins) to settle check in.
2. No floor mats in the room.
3. Available 1 plug point & its far from bed, the other plug point is for tv. Very inconvenient.
3. There's no extra: bed, mattress & blanket.
4. Request for extra 2 pillows & 4 towels, need to pay RM50. I think it should be for free.
