The location is quite good, very closed to Gaya street,Wismar Merdeka, Suria Sabah and Pasar Basar Kota Kinabalu.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, large spacious rooms. The shower was hot with great water pressure. Walking distance to most amenities/attractions in KK, right on the water front. The buffet breakfast was one of the best that I've ever had. Only point for improvement is that the rooms were very dated. The swimming pool was large and clean.

One night stay here was not great. The entrance feels like you are heading into some form of multistorey carpark, it's very built up and not nice views unless you get a sea view.
On arrival we were told the extra beds we had booked "may" not fit in the room (after travelling with babies for 24 hours), we made it work just using the sofa as a bed and saving the need for an extra bed.
There was no balcony to go out on so we had to put children to bed then take in turns coming down to eat dinner to not disturb them after a long day of travelling.
The bedroom design is bizarre, little cabinet with the toilet secured with a glass door that doesn't fully close which means your on the toilet able to look on the bed. The shower/bath whilst a good size are in the cubical next door but the same style of glass door opens outwards which meant water all over the floor after a shower.
The bathroom sink was outside on what appeared to be a kitchen island, had to brush teeth over the tub to not disturb sleeping kids. In room toiletries were fine.
No coffee machine, just instant coffee in the room.
TV is a smart TV but despite having netflix apps, you can't seem to sign in to any of them so rely on the providers channels.
Service in the lounge was great, very hospitable and the food was really nice. Wine selection wasn't great, they were out of stock of all wines that were not by the glass.
Breakfast was poor, slow and most of the food despite being under heat lamps was cold. Selection wasn't great, paratha was too thick and too cold. Eggs not a great quality and we waited for 15 mins for pancakes as the chef kept burning them. The traditional Malay food was ok but also not great. Bread for toasting was remarkably stale.
The bellboy service again was shockingly slow, it took 25 mins to get cases down after I had explain we needed to be at the airport for our flight and the cab was arriving in 10 mins. Check out very fast but the guys took so long bringing 3 cases down, just zero urgency resulting inme getting a late charge from grab for not being ready to go.
Wouldn't recommend this place even for a quick visit. Certainly more suited to solo/business travellers.

Booked this room 1 day before checking in. Room price was affordable. Room was spacious and clean. The location is very near to lots of food shop houses. The view at the bar itself was fantastic. Staff are friendly.
I particularly wanted to comment on the services rendered by their bell boy where he offered to carry all my bags. I have rarely come across bell boy that are truly helpful and friendly. The very first impression before entering the lobby made by the bell boy has made me smiled.
Thank you Hyatt for having your staff to provide such excellent services which made the stay even much more enjoyable.
I would definitely recommend to my friends to stay on Hyatt if they are at Kota Kinabalu.

We used our Hyatt point for 1 night suite stay and managed to upgrade us to sea view suite. The building is quite old so the furnishings are so as well. Room are spacious and we got one complimentary single bed for kids. The food served at club lounge at level 13 is quite good although variety could be more.
Also got two complimentary rainbow latte and ice cream for kids, both yummy!
Location is also good walking distance to shopping mall and many restaurants nearby.

Seaview rooms were good, quite spacious for both king & twin room. Those rooms were quite old but still neat and tidy. Some tiles on the floor were shaky and may come out anytime.
Swimming pool water was kind of murky. The pool opened till 8pm, but changing room don't have light, at 7pm+??? Only 1 changing room with 4 walls, a door & a roof? Guest will need to go up to the room after dip inside the murky water without a shower?
Parking RM 10/day. Parking lots looks quite limited.

Room nice - modern, lights everywhere, smells nice, awesome shower like bathing in the rain, nice ocean view. One thing extra - there's sarung and kain batik! No more sleeping nude :)

Quite nice. The functionality of the elevators was… mysterious. Very friendly staff. Beds could be a little comfier. The “hot tub” and steam room had me wondering if they were even turned on. The sauna had excellent heat as long as you pour water on the stones. I felt that the room and amenities were underwhelming, relative to the price. Nonetheless, Hyatt is always a nice place to stay. However, I might recommend Hyatt Centric, located just a few blocks away.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hyatt Regency in Kota Kinabalu and was thoroughly impressed. The rooms were spacious, clean and well-appointed, with all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay. The view from my room was breathtaking, overlooking the sea and was given free upgrade. We were also given free Gelato from the nearby cafe and it was good too! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond to make sure my stay was enjoyable. The hotel's location was convenient, with easy access to nearby shopping and dining options. The on-site restaurants offered delicious cuisine, with a good variety of local and international options. The breakfast buffet was delicious with lots of choices of food. The only downside of this stay was no coffee or tea available in our room for us to enjoy the night facing the sea. Overall, I would highly recommend the Hyatt Regency Kota Kinabalu for anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay.
