The Yama Hotel Phuket - SHA Extra Plus

As a single dad traveling with my two young teen sons, finding a comfortable and family-friendly hotel is always a priority, and The Yama Hotel has delivered on both our visits! From the warm welcome at check-in to the excellent service at the restaurant and pool bar, every aspect of our stay was a pleasure.

Our room was spacious and well-appointed, featuring a cozy bathtub and a large rain shower in the bathroom. It came with all the standard amenities, like coffee and tea, two complimentary water bottles daily, and quality toiletries. While the hotel isn’t directly on the beach, the views more than made up for it—we had a stunning combination of ocean and jungle scenery. The AC kept us cool, the Wi-Fi worked flawlessly, and though we didn’t watch much TV, the cable channels were a nice touch.

The included breakfast buffet was perfect for us. My sons and I aren’t picky eaters, and we loved the variety, from classic breakfast staples to local dishes, fresh fruits, a salad bar, refreshing juices, and a variety of coffee drinks to start the day right. The friendly and attentive restaurant staff made every meal even more enjoyable. Additionally, the hotel provided a shuttle bus to Kata Beach, which was incredibly convenient and made it easy for us to enjoy the sand and sea.

I would absolutely recommend The Yama Hotel to anyone, whether traveling with kids, as a couple, or even solo. We’re already looking forward to our next stay

Beautiful hotel with an incredible pool. The staff are really helpful and friendly, the food, especially the breakfast buffet, is great and the view from the balcony is fantastic. You can sign up to take a shuttle directly to the beach.

The only downside is that you really can't walk anywhere from the hotel because you'd need to cross a 4-5 line, fast-moving street as soon as you get down the hill. Having to take a taxi to run by the 7-11 isn't the most convenient.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at The Yama Hotel very much. The room, pool and restaurant were all very clean. The staff were welcoming, kind and helpful. They made us feel special by not just asking about our day but also remembering what we had told them. The staff made our stay very special. We enjoyed the view from our room (especially the sunset) and enjoyed the cocktails by the pool. We also participated in a cooking class which was well worth it and we will never forget. The breakfast buffet was fresh and delicious with new options every day. It had us going back for seconds every time! The only con was the need to consistently catch a grab to and from the beach we found the hotel shuttle service times did not meet our needs. This was easy an easy thing though to overlook. We will miss The Yama Hotel very much. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

I have never been so sad to leave a hotel before and the potential of never seeing some of the amazing staff again is so sad. We stayed at the Yama for one week, last week. This hotel is very close to becoming 5 star.
ROOMS: The rooms were spotless. The cleaners are very thorough with their job and we would like to once again thank them for cleaning our room every day but especially on the event our child had been sick everywhere.
POOL: Great sized pool with a spa and smaller pool for children. Incredible view with a convenient pool-side bar that has a great selection of drinks at affordable rates. It is open until 9pm which is great for after those long days of activities/markets.
STAFF: I would like to specially mention Beam, Kae, Aom, the morning wait staff, the concierge, the cleaners, the Manager and reception staff. The service you collectively showed us is unmatched. I am so devastated we cannot take you home with us. My son has been asking for Beam since leaving the Yama!

LOCATION: Good location, free shuttle down to Kata Beach which is super convenient.

My only critique for this incredible place is more variety in their buffet breakfast menu.

We have now moved up north to a 5 star hotel, but it's service and rooms does not compare to the Yama. Thank you!

Great staff and facilities! Friendly and only too ready to help out. We really enjoyed or stay here! It's a wee bit away from the beach but the shuttle service makes access easy and most importantly, it's quiet at night!!

It is an amazing place to stay. Around 2 km from Kata beach. Great facility with clean and spacious rooms, an awesome swimming pool. This hotels provides the very tasty breakfast buffet and of course a lot of other food options. The most important I loved the vibe of this hotel. Will surely visit again next year.

We spent 8 nights at this place with my niece (12yo), generally very happy. Nice and clean pool, bar by the pool with traditional happy hour and on a spot you can order food and drinks and jump back to the pool after nice meal. I stayed at the couple of other hotels after that and only Yama was serving mango for breakfast. Even though it felt like they had many guests we often had pool for ourselves. Something to keep in mind - it is located on a hill and we always used hotel transfers or taxi to the beach. Boris was always there to help Russian guests and all stuff nice and friendly. I would stay again.
