Kokotel Lighthouse - SHA Extra Plus

Absolutely fantastic place with probably the best value seaview rooms in the province. V sweet reception staff who have me a pre check in tour. So clean, huge 38sqm rooms with the comfiest beds and linen and pillows. I cannot believe the value for money and quality that this place represents. Sea view room are essential as you will fall asleep to the sound of the a Andaman sea just 50m from your balcony

Was just a quick one night family weekend getaway. It's a small older resort. Rooms are ok bed very comfortable. It's very basic great if your on a strict budget and looking for best value for money. We have breakfast included not tried that yet.

Everything is just as it looks in the photos. The staff is very friendly, you're just a stone's throw from the beach, and the pool is also very nice. The breakfast is excellent. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in Khao Lak.

Avoid Seascape & Ground Floor Rooms – Only Stay Upstairs in Lighthouse

Our first room in the Seascape building was uninhabitable—overwhelming mouldy odour caused breathing issues within 30 minutes. Add noisy external transformers, and we had to leave immediately.

Staff kindly moved us to the Lighthouse hotel across the road. Unfortunately, our ground-floor room there had the same severe damp/mould problem. After one miserable night, we paid extra to move to a 3rd-floor sea view room—a completely different experience: clean, fresh, comfortable, and with great views. We ended up extending our stay.

Major Concerns:

Seascape building: Unfit due to mould—avoid completely.

Lighthouse ground floor: Also affected—only upper floors are acceptable.

Pool: Excess chlorine ruined clothing on Day 1—check levels before use.

Bottom Line: Only stay if you can secure an upstairs room in the Lighthouse. Do not accept any room in Seascape or on Lighthouse’s ground floor until the mould issue is properly resolved.

If you are not looking for luxury, yet you are still expecting good value for your buck, this is the place.

I loved the industrial design of the room, which was clean and surprisingly spacious. The bed was super-comfy as well!

Although we would have preferred an ocean-facing room, we got a room facing the garden of a neighboring hotel, which was still nice and felt very private. I would personally stay away from the pool-side rooms, which in my opinion did not offer much privacy.

Although the breakfast wasn't exactly fancy, considering the price we paid (roughly 850 baht a night, breakfast included) it was nothing to complain about. Fresh fruit, a piece of toast or two, butter, jam, a glass of juice and a cup of coffee is enough to fill your stomach in the morning.

The beach area seemed to be a bit neglected, but the beach itself is very nice with a lovely views and it attracts a number of surfers both in the morning and the afternoon. You can also rent surfing gear right at the beach.

All in all, even though this hotel is not the fanciest place around, it is still very nice and great value for money!

Nice small hotel. Good value for money. Liked the clean and modern rooms, very simple but spacious. Breakfast is not big, but enough for an adult. Not enough healthy food for a child. Would like to see the dining area more comfortable and clean and modern. Plates were often dirty.
Good location of the hotel. Beautiful view of the sunset and the lighthouse.

Nice hotel, greated by friendly smiley staff on arrival, was shown to the room . Breakfast was fine ,a selection of thai and western food.

Service: very good, we had an issue with noisy neighbors and staff was very understanding and it was no issue to get moved to a different room, also they speak enough English to be able to sort everything out you might encounter.

Rooms and hotel in general: very decent also in room everything is working and clean. Great value for money

Although there was direct access to the beach, the hotel was quite a walk from shops and the main road.

The restaurant was separate from the hotel but it was very nice to eat breakfast with a view of the ocean.

I chose the hotel room because of the polished concrete finish. However my partner didn't like it so it is not to everyone's taste.

Our room opened directly to the pool which was very convenient. There was also sheltered parking for motorbikes. The staff were friendly. Water stations are provided for unlimited fresh water which was a nice touch.
