Reviews
Special thanks to the Mr Faruk staff team of young people providing the great service all around the resort, girls in the patisserie are especially kind.
They give us one room even before 14pm, but for another room (we were 5 people) we wait until 15.
The staff are not speaking English, only 2 of them are speaking, so it’s hard to make conversation.
There are cats everywhere, across the tables where the guests are eating, so if someone is alergic to cats, it could get allergic reaction.
The hotel is nice, the beach and the yard beautiful, the stuff are very polite, but the rooms are outdated, the bathroom tiles on the floor were old and look very dilapidated.
The curtains were dirty, filed with black stains, like it wasn’t washed for a very long time.
When i move the drawer by the bed, i noticed greasy stains, looking like it wasn’t cleaned at all.
Definitely it doesn’t look like a 4 star hotel.
The hotel is across a mosque, so be prepared to be waken up at 5 o clock with a very loud call for prayer and 4 other prayers during the day.
The food was good and tasty, even though repetitive and often served cold.
The highlight of our stay was when my friend noticed that she was robbed 300 euros from her wallet that was placed in her suitcase.
She reported to the reception at the hotel, they first didn’t want to call the police, after we called representatives from the agency and they told to the representative to the hotel that the hotel must call the police, they call the police.
It turned out that another guests complaint to the agency the same day that were robbed also. The police suspect one of the cleaning ladies took the money, but she was not available on the phone and her accounts on a social media were deactivated.
When we asked from the hotel officials to refund the money, they tried to avoid the responsibility, and refused to refund the money, they sad we should have put our valuable stuff in the room safe and to wait the police to catch the cleaning lady.
My friends spent 4 hours with the police, giving statement, the last two hours in the police station at night. It was Very unpleasant and stressful situation for all of us that ruined our long awaited vacation. We understand that it wasn’t hotels fault, but it is hotels responsibility to make every guest feel safe.
Also, they should have warn us after we check in to put our valuable belongings in the hotel safe and that if something happens they are not responsible.
Definitely wan’t go another time in this hotel.
Also catered, especially for my daughter.
I would especially like to thank Ishak, he took great care of us.
& All the staff was so friendly and helpful! Couldn’t do enough for us both! All amazing people.
Everything was perfect. see you again.
Pros:
- Some of the servers are AMAZING. They made us feel so welcome and couldn’t do enough to help us. The main ones who served us were Okram, Savas and Muhammad. The service really made the trip if I am honest. Some of the other staff could do with learning from these ones. They really try their best even though there is a language barrier.
- The beach is stunning and literally on your doorstep. It is cleaned regularly and it has a beach bar, toilets and showers.
- The swimming pool again is stunning and a good size however can get really cold so be warned! There are also not many sun loungers so make sure you reserve one in the morning.
Cons:
- The rooms are outdated and not to a 4 star standard in my opinion. Despite this, they are clean.
- The housekeeping is not good and our room was only cleaned 3 days out of 7. We had to keep going to reception to ask for basic necessities such as toilet roll and towels which isn’t ideal. Same for the people we travelled with.
- The evening entertainment was not good at all. In fact there wasn’t anything until our last 3 days. We had bingo on the last day but this was an up cost of £10 per game which was slightly disappointing. We spent most evenings in the room as there really wasn’t anything to do and it was cold outside.
- The food was hit or miss. Some days it would be ok and on our last couple of days they started to freshly cook kebab meat on the bbq which was lovely. It is traditional Turkish breakfast and so we struggled to find something we wanted. The snack bar however was ok, definitely the better lunch option. The food was still lukewarm though.
It is a lovely traditional Turkish place and we had a lovely stay overall!
On arrival was greated by lovely girl with freshly made smoothies for us. Sonay (on reception) helped us with our bags from car to reception and reception to our room.
We were given a card in Turkish to fill in on arrive with reception staff who did not speak English.
We was asked to take a picture of food time table but this was out of date as half the restaurants were not open/unavailable.
First room we were given the cards did not work and Sonay had to run back to reception to reset the cards. Cards working we then realised we had no electric and Sonay said that he would get technical help, we waited 10 minutes no help arrived so I returned to reception to ask for assistance (which was an issue due to language barrier), finally understood was told someone was on their way to fix the issue, i returned to room and waited for another 15 minutes, no assistance came so I returned to reception to request new room which they reluctantly gave me.
We waited another 15 minutes for new room. Once in new room realised there was water, tea or milk. We also had problems with safe changing locking codes and needed assistance with this a couple of times.
There was no information in room about hotel area, what was available or anything about local area (what was available to visit)
We was unaware that there was a mosque right opposite the hotel and we was woken up with prayer daily at 5 am, this is very loud and the local dogs start barking.
Hotel has general wear and tear, could be really nice if attention was paid to detail inside the rooms. Rooms are basic and in need of attention.
Tv is old and small, has minimal channels, had no hdmi so could not even attach my own device to watch programmes in the evening.
Bathroom was unclean and the glass shelf above the sink came away from wall. Patio door to balcony stuck and my Mum could not open this, I had to use force to open it. Chair on balcony was missing screw, luckily I noticed before I sat down one evening.
During our stay we had no tea, water or milk replenished in room. We had to go and physically look for cleaners to ask for teabags and water everyday. We had to buy milk from the shop onsite as it was easier than trying to ask for it.
There was no English speaking staff and all interactions needed to be translated through Google (which was not accurate 100% of the time). I must say that Sonay on reception tried his best to help with all our issues and was one of 4 members of staff that really tried to help when we needed it.
Restaurant staff were really attentive despite the language barrier and always tried to answer questions and interact with guests.
Food-Breakfast there was some cooked food, salad, cheeses, cereals, toast and fruit.
Lunch there was cooked food, toast, bread, salads, cheeses, fruit.
Dinner there was cooked food, meat, cheeses, salad, bread and puddings
In the Evenings the restaurant would get packed and staff would need to bring extra chairs and tables into the restaurant and on occasion we had people sat with us.Beach bar- served burgers, pasta, salads
During the day you can visit the patisserie for coffees and cakes/biscuits but these were basic and the same everyday.
The pool area- there were small pieces of shattered glass on floor despite having a paper cup only rule by the pool, even staff were giving glasses out despite this rule. During my stay I did not see any staff clean the pool area and plastic straw covers where everywhere under the deckchairs and by the poolside. I cleaned our area when we sat near the pool. The pool is 165 deep with same depth all round there is no shallow end, this is not made very clear and could be quite dangerous. There were not many sunbeds near the pool so if you wanted one you would need to reserve in the morning but there were more sunbeds on the beach to use and these were never full. There was loud music by Pool all day with minimal entertainment in the evening there was Bingo
Spa is the best thing about this hotel and give good package deals
