Reviews
Oh and the food was fresh and delicious, I think it’s better than any other restaurants we went too. The spa with puspa was everything I needed to complete our vacation.
Summary:
I listed some pros and cons below, but to give a summary, given the constant noise from Buddha bar (which you can hear even with fully closed window doors), and the fact that no alternative rooms that were shown to us by hotel stuff helped (as all hotel rooms overlook the bar at the end of the day, there's no escaping it), we checked out after one night, and relocated to Edition hotel. I do have to say, that while our expectations and reality didn't match, the hotel does have beautiful views. It's a shame they are prioritising Buddha bar customers vs people staying at the hotel. We do appreciate support of the reception staff, who made an effort to show us alternative rooms, and helped get the refund for the points for remaining nights, so we could relocate to Edition hotel.
Pros:
- You can get an upgrade as a platinum member (depending on availability)
- Hotel is located in Bodrum city, you have a lot of options around in terms of activities / food
- Several restaurants, and a beautiful spa/pool. The views from the hotel areas and rooms are beautiful
Cons:
- Narrow beach strip (beach is rocky), however hotel extended the beach by building a wooden extension
- All hotel rooms overlooking Buddha bar - they play music until 2am every (!) day (not just weekends), and there's no escaping the noise in the evening/at night. Even with closed balconies we could hear the beats, and couldn't sleep until 1am due to the noise
- All food options are very pricy, however I feel it's the same in all 5 star hotels around
The hotel is covered in incredible art, decor, and breathtaking views. Would absolutely go back.
I will not recommend, unless you get a good deal.
Firstly, I was forced to change my room not once, but three times during my stay. The initial room I was assigned had a problem with the safe box. When I reported the issue to the front desk, I was informed that it could only be fixed if I was present in the room. This resulted in a four-hour delay and three different staff members attempting to fix the safe, all of whom were unsuccessful. This inconvenience was not only time-consuming but also highly frustrating.
Furthermore, the second room I was moved to had a faulty fan that made a loud noise. I immediately brought this to the attention of the manager, Javid, and requested that it be fixed as we planned to be out for the day. He assured me that the issue would be resolved. However, upon returning to the room at 9 pm, I discovered that the fan had not been fixed, prompting yet another room change. This lack of attention to detail and failure to follow through on promises is completely unacceptable.
In addition to the issues with the rooms, I found the hotel's management to be disappointingly unresponsive and unsympathetic to my concerns. When I approached Javid during check-out to express my dissatisfaction with the overall experience, I was met with a dismissive and unapologetic attitude. Not only did he fail to provide any form of apology or compensation for the inconveniences faced, but he also had the audacity to mention that they had changed my room, as if that alone justified the poor service received.
Furthermore, I must address the excessive noise disturbance caused by the DJ clubbing events held in the hotel's backyard until 2 AM every night. This made it virtually impossible to get a good night's sleep, severely impacting the quality of my stay. It is highly disappointing that a hotel of your stature would prioritize hosting loud events over ensuring a peaceful and comfortable environment for your guests.
Lastly, I observed another guest experiencing overcharges at the pool area during my check-out. This raises concerns about the hotel's billing practices and further erodes the trust I had initially placed in your establishment.
Considering the exorbitant price I paid for my stay, which amounted to over $1300 per night, the lack of satisfactory resolution and the overall poor experience I encountered is simply unacceptable. The mere gesture of waving a $30 food charge does not adequately compensate for the numerous inconveniences and disappointments faced throughout my stay.
I strongly Not suggest this hotel at all.
