Rixos Sungate - The Land of Legends Access

We arrived at 3 AM and couldn’t check in early, which we understood. However, the waiting area near the sports bar was unbearably hot and stuffy. It was not a comfortable place to wait for hours.

The food at the Turquoise restaurant was a major letdown. The selection for breakfast, lunch, and dinner was very poor.

Only common fruits were available, with no exotic options like pineapple, mango, or figs.

There was a very limited choice of meat, fish, and seafood. Long queues for items like meat, fish, omelets, fried eggs, and waffles made meal times stressful.

While the traditional Turkish desserts were delicious, the rest of the dessert options were tasteless and lacked variety. Additionally, the staff was clearly overwhelmed during meals. Finding a clean table with cutlery and napkins was a challenge, and we often had to get our own drinks as service was slow.

The Fantasy pool was advertised as a quiet, relaxing area, but it was anything but that. Loud children and adults disrupted the atmosphere, with some even bomb jumping into the pool, despite it being against the rules. On one occasion, guests played loud music from a Bluetooth speaker, and no staff intervened to enforce any rules.

The common areas of the hotel were extremely hot and uncomfortable. The only place where we could escape the heat was our room.

Unfortunately, the experience we had at Rixos Sungate was much worse than what was promised. The poor food options, lack of staff during meal times, and lack of enforcement of pool rules significantly detracted from our stay. This hotel does not meet the standards of a five-star establishment, and we cannot recommend it to anyone.

Too crowded. Meal times were like nightmare as we had to rush all the time to find a free table to sit. A lot of people were around with plates in their hands, hard to reach food, queue was always present. Same with the sun beds. I had to get up at 7 am every morning in order to find a place under shadow. Sadly most of the guests are placing towels on the sunbeds to reserve them. I think the hotel is fulled over capacity and staff is not enough for this crowd. Will never come here again.

The service in the restaurants is perfect, the employees are very friendly and they keep refilling your glass. The overall experience of staying in the Rixos was definitely worth the price that we payed.

The only thing is that you really have to check what kind of room you book. There are still rooms that are updated.
