Reviews
To make matters worse, the following day, I encountered the same issue with Umit again. This time, a waiter next to him approached me and walked over to me aggressively several times, to the point where I felt physically threatened multiple times. Throughout the remainder of our stay, the manager continued to watch us during mealtimes in a way that felt harassing and uncomfortable. Our mother had a terrible experience, and so did we.
On our last day, a drunk tourist harassed my wife and baby during breakfast, insisting they move inside so she could smoke. Shockingly, no staff members intervened.
Aside from these unusual and disturbing incidents, the hotel itself was plagued with cleanliness issues. As attached, dirty plates and glasses were a constant problem at every meal – breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Each time we brought this up to the staff, the response was always the same: "Okay, we’ll replace them," with no real effort to correct the underlying issue. The food selection was also poorly organized, lacking healthy or dietary options. On the final day, I even took pictures of the overcooked, almost burnt, meatballs being served.
On the last day of our stay, we took our baby to the sandy beach right next to the hotel. Unfortunately, I stepped on a fishing line that was carelessly left on the ground, causing me to injure my foot. I had to treat it before our long drive home. Thankfully, our baby didn’t get hurt, but it's disappointing that the hotel doesn’t have staff to monitor and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the surrounding areas.
The overall management, particularly by Umit and the franchise director Ozgur, was deeply disappointing. The lack of oversight and proper handling of these incidents is something that should be addressed by Wyndham headquarters.
Overall, this hotel experience was extremely disappointing, and I strongly urge potential guests to consider other options until serious improvements are made.
Reception: the staff is very polite, always ready to help. Everyone speaks English, there is also a Russian-speaking girl, Ayim. Special thanks to her for her help!
Room: clean, furniture in decent condition, comfortable mattress and pillows, plenty of space to store personal belongings. The room has some kind of minimal hygiene kit in the bathroom, disposable slippers. There are no robes (but they are not promised by hotel). There is Wi-Fi, but it was not very stable in my room. If you need stable Internet for a call, you can go to the 0 floor in the recreation area (it is quiet there, there are sofas, tables, electrical outlets, the Internet has never let me down there).
Room service: daily wet cleaning clean towels and bottles of drinking water. The quality of cleaning is monitored, once the manager came, asked if it was ok.
Restaurant: the restaurant is on the 3rd floor of the main building, it is open only during breakfast, lunch and dinner. The rest of the time you can't come there to eat, but you can order food during the day on the -2 floor at the pool bar. The breakfast buffet is varied and tasty. Wish they had baklava for breakfast…
Recreation area: on the -2 floor there is a bar, a pool and beach area. The pool was cleaned every evening, the water in it is disinfected. There are many quite comfortable sun loungers. There are also umbrellas and tables. Clean beach towels are available at the bar. Entrance to the sea is via stairs. I personally like it very much. A large swimming area is fenced with buoys. Swimming there is a pleasure: the water is deep and clean, you can see the castle on the left, and the Bodrum mills on the right. There are toilets and a shower on the beach. Beautiful and pleasant music is always playing. The waiters and bartenders do a great job. Special thanks to dear Hayrullah. He is very friendly, tactful and attentive to all requests.
Logistics: you can walk to the center of Bodrum (25-30 minutes). The landscape is mountainous, it is difficult to walk, keep this in mind if you choose to walk. You can get to the center of Bodrum by boat-taxi. They leave every 10 minutes right from the hotel beach, one way fare is 100 liras (5 minutes ride). You can also return to the hotel on these boats (just say the name of the hotel when boarding). The hotel is located near the windmills of Bodrum (15 minutes walk).
The reception also can help you call a taxi.
I am very pleased with my holiday at the La Quinta by Wyndham Bodrum, I recommend it to you for many reasons.
I notised only a few disadvantages of staying in La Quinta by Wyndham Bodrum:
- Sometimes in the restaurant there were dishes that were not entirely clean (it was obvious that they had been washed, but not finished somehow)
- The toaster in the restaurant works very poorly (my bread caught fire a couple of times!)
- In the room, the shower glass does not protect from splashes, a puddle of water was constantly accumulating under the shower.
Unfortunately though the big IF and the main point of critique are the rooms.
I arrived here with my friend and we ordered a deluxe room (per description for 3).
We arrived to a standard room (2 single beds) and got told that we may add an additional bed to the already quite *cozy* standard room meant just for the 2 original beds.
!!! But first and foremost, the room was in a horrible condition (pictures added). Dirty, broken, rusty and moldy. (Not as horrible as youd expect from the cheapest hotel but quite bad for a hotel of this level and price). Additionally the room is not sound insulated at all, meaning we could hear the smallest sounds from above clearly. Oh and the minifridge wasnt working as well.
We were offered another room which had less but similar problems (the walls were even worse). Additionally, it was just a double bed, which was less suitable for friends. Basically the same room, just the terrace was slightly less broken. So now we have to stay in the original room. (The last picture is the bathroom of this alternative room)
Horrible value honestly and a state inacceptable for a 4 star hotel.
it took us around 20 minutes to get to the city by foot, but there is also a marine taxi every 50 minutes that can take you there for 100 turkish liras. Snack (pizza, burgers, fries, vegetables..) is served at the pool bar. Small market is within 10 minutes walking distance.
Great to all the staff here.
The rooms are clean, you get clean towels everyday.
The location is perfect. The food is good.
Great stay, I would definitely recommend the hotel.
Hope to be back soon
