Reviews
The staff at the Terracota Hotel went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. They were attentive, friendly, and always ready to assist. Whether they provided recommendations for local attractions or offered homemade beverages, their service was impeccable. They've also helped us with booking our hot-air balloon ride and finding one of the best tour guide we've ever had.
The Terracota Hotel is located in the old town of Avanos. They've connected 3 old stone houses and created very authentically decorated rooms. We've booked a total of 2 rooms, and all have their own characteristics.
Breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant was a delightful experience. I’ve stayed in countless hotels, but this breakfast was not an ordinary one. All the jams were homemade, and I was obsessed with the sundried tomato they made in-house.
In summary, our stay at the Terracota Hotel exceeded our expectations. If you’re looking for great Turkish hospitality with top-notch service, I highly recommend this gem of a hotel.
Please do not encourage these thief’s, they don’t deserve your money at all.
When we arrived, the manager (a woman) who seemed to be also the owner didn’t speak a word of English, was not friendly at all and never smiled at us. We already had the impression of not being welcome, right at the beginning.
The bedroom didn’t not have AC, no fan and no wifi (their wifi just doesn’t work at all). We were suffocating in the room and they could not provide any solution for us. As they couldn’t do anything about it, we asked for a refund and said that we didn’t want to stay there. We were ready to find another hotel. They didn’t want to give us the refund and kept saying that they didn’t get the money yet. They claimed that we never paid the room which wasn’t true because I showed them the proof of the paiement on my bank account. After several minutes of miscommunication, we decided to keep the room as they didn’t want to give us back the money. Again, instead of trying to find a solution, they decided to call the police to kick us out. Two police officers came and we had to leave even if we had paid for the hotel already and even if they had nothing against us. When we left, the daughter of the manager wanted us to wait because she wanted to inspect the room first as if we had stolen something… 🙄
I have been traveling the world since January this year and I’ve booked many hotels since then and this has been the worst experience so far! Looking at all the other bad reviews on google maps, I realize that we are not the only ones that have been threaten like that. It is not the first time that a customer doesn’t feel welcome or feel like they want to steal from you. It’s a shame!
The accommodation was beautiful and so clean, the family/satff were so accommodating (like staying with family) and the food was super tasty and everyday you got something a little different for breakfast to try.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ✨️
