The Sands Beach Resort

We recently stayed at this hotel in a Family Villa and had an absolutely amazing experience. The villa was spacious, beautifully maintained, and spotlessly clean – a big thank you to the housekeeping team for doing such an outstanding job! The food throughout our stay was delicious, and the staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. We felt well taken care of at all times. The beach is stunning, with soft white sand and very comfortable sunbeds. We also appreciated the respectful and kind local vendors who offered souvenirs and excursions. We went on two fantastic trips with Ali – one to the Blue Lagoon for snorkeling and to see the starfish, and another for a reef walk where we discovered the wonders of the sea. These experiences were unforgettable and very well organized. They even made personalized bracelets with our daughter's name and a beautifully crafted wooden board – such lovely souvenirs to take home. The pool area is spacious and great for both swimming and playing, and the gardens throughout the property are beautifully maintained. We also enjoyed having lunch and cocktails at the beach bar – the perfect spot to relax. If we had to mention one small area for improvement, it would be the hairdryer in the bathroom, which could be replaced with a more powerful one. But honestly, everything else was absolutely perfect. We highly recommend this hotel for families and anyone looking for a relaxing, enjoyable stay. A heartfelt thank you to the entire staff for your kindness, professionalism, and constant smiles – you truly made our holiday special!

I booked this holiday as a surprise for my mums 50th birthday and it was truly perfection, from the location to the hotel the people and services. Before I went I was in communication with the Reservations Manager Shadia who ensured al the surprises were fulfilled for my mum. From the room/bed/ and birthday cake. Everything was met. Ali the General Manager was amazing ensuring all our dining requirements were met and supported us and checking in on us daily. The staff were great,especially Josiah at the bar. Rooms were perfection and immaculate Location was perfect. Would visit again and highly recommend.

Ali and his team make your life utterly easy. The rest is the finest sea, sun, sand. Fifty shades of blue served for free at The Sands Resort. Great location for outdoor activities. Comfy villas for families. Diving club available. Go and have fun. In swahili words, take it "Pole Pole".

Perfect place to relax
Our villa was super spacious, it was cleaned regularly, and it was nice to wake up in that beautiful garden. Service was very good, Mr. Ally and the team made us feel welcome and helped us with the early check out and late check out because of our flight times.

The best and most impressive first impression of Zanzibar was at this lovely resort! I personally think this resort is the main reason to visit Zanzibar, if seeking a resort vibe, given all it offers and it's great level of professional, kind spirited, and friendly staff. The general manager, offered a seamless check-in and presented all information quickly and concisely, just in time to drop our luggage and partake in the delicious buffet style dinner being offered that evening. The villa was a pleasure to stay in and beautifully designed inside and out. It's worth mentioning, the villas provide only what is needed and is free of clutter and unnecessary objects. You are truly able to unplug and enjoy the jaw-dropping natural beauty offered by the best looking water and sand I have seen to date. As you walk along the beach, you truly can appreciate The Sands resort for its wonderful location along the pristine beach. I stayed with my wife here as we were in celebration mode after just eloping in Mombasa, Kenya and entering the New Year in style overlooking the fireworks, and listening to a great dj spin some great music. There are not enough words of praise to the wonderful staff, as we never mentioned our elopement, for how special we felt on each of the 5 days! If you can book anywhere in Zanzibar for a resort I highly recommend staying here-where making you feel special isn't just for a day it's for your entire stay.

We had the best time as The Sands Beach Resort. Very friendly and nice staff that made every extra effort for the customers. We had a villa with private pool, half board- and that was perfect for us. Food was good and they made special setups every night to make it feel special. I can really recommend Sands Beach Resort as you will be seen and heard at any point! Its a small resort making it not to crowded. You can be alone in the pool, and there are always a sunbed avaliable. No cues in the bars or restaurang.

Great hotel to stay to escape the busy hustle and bustle lifestyle. It is beautiful and quiet. Food is great. The only crtique i have is there are frequent power outages in the evening. Overall I would visit again.

October 2024 Exceptional "Boutique Resort", located in a tropical colorful garden front side of the Ocean; the rooms are independent large bungalows/villas, provided with any comfort you may need in such a wild paradise; the cuisine is fine and generous, served with rich buffet and the best grilled fish (catch of the day strictly) any night; all member of the staff (no one excluded) is professional, smiling, polite and effective on his own job. We had a 4 night stay here in October 24 and cannot rate the hotel highly enough. The accommodation and entire site are all spotlessly clean and well maintained. The food at the restaurant was varied and high quality and the staff without exception are both professional and friendly. Excellent job guys.

I loved my stay here! location- unbelievable with the most incredible view and paradise like experience! The pool and beach is serene, well kept and quiet. If you are looking for a beautiful, quiet place with great service this is the place for you! There is a gorgeous bar on the beach, a few steps from your room and beach umbrellas to sit under. The rooms- excellent! I went with a friend and we each had a bungalow, the rooms are in great condition and well kept with great air conditioning. The staff! Just amazing! They helped us with every thing we needed (from fixing the a/c to getting us sea shoes and aloe from an aloe tree when we were burnt). They hand pick their staff and it shows. The guest relations manager Ally is outstanding and a shout out to the dining and bar staff too (Hamida, Rasheed, Kelvin, Michael, George, Sporah, Edgar). They are friendly and helpful and will help your arrange excursions if you want or just get you a drink or coconut at the beach. I highly recommend this hotel! And would love to go back!
