Gold Zanzibar Beach House & Spa

We recently spent a few nights at Gold Zanzibar Beach House & Spa for a girls’ getaway, and honestly, we’re still buzzing from the experience. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome — the staff were incredibly warm and genuinely seemed happy to have us there. What really stood out was how personal everything felt. Every morning at breakfast and again in the evening at dinner, someone would check in on us — not in a forced way, but with real warmth and friendliness. Every “jambo” from the team came with a smile, and we noticed how they took the time to learn our names and make each of us feel seen. The food was another highlight — there was something new to look forward to every evening thanks to themed dinners and entertainment. The variety was great, and the quality exceeded our expectations. We especially enjoyed how lively the evenings felt, without being too over-the-top — just the right vibe for a group holiday. Our rooms were always clean and comfortable, with daily housekeeping that didn’t miss a beat. We also found the all-inclusive option to be great value — it really allowed us to relax and enjoy everything without constantly thinking about costs. We also loved that there were optional activities on offer. It felt like the right balance — enough to keep us engaged without overwhelming our schedule. One lovely surprise was seeing a local artist painting as we walked to dinner. We later found out he offers painting classes — it would’ve been amazing to do a beachside sip-and-paint session! That’s definitely something we’d pay extra for and would love to see more clearly advertised in future. Huge thanks to Isaa, Richard, and Enoch — they really made our stay extra special. They were so kind, fun, and professional, and they added so much positive energy to our time there. The only small suggestion we have: we absolutely loved the Jerusalema dance performance one evening and thought a daytime African dance class would be a great addition for guests who want to try something active and cultural. We would’ve been first in line! We made so many special memories and are already talking about coming back.

From the initial welcome to the last goodbye we have experienced really amazing customer service. A beautiful team always on hand to help you have a great day. Great facilities also and a lovely beach with warmish waters - would certainly recommend!

Absolutely fantastic stay at this venue, 10/10 customer service and would definitely come back again. Came with a group of ladies, we were well taking care of from arrival to departure. You will definitely get what you paid for so go for it. Food is a big deal for me, had plenty of choice and the food was fresh and hot. Beach was lovely, with a balance of interacting with others but being able to take a few steps back towards the resort and not be bothered by anyone else. Finally cleanliness, rooms cleaned, towels changed every time used, reception prompt with any requests. Honestly no complaints!!! Thank you to all the employees as they made our trip to Zanzibar one to remember with no regrets!

We spent two nights in the African Villa at the Golden Zanzibar. The amazing beach was only surpassed by the fantastic service. Our butler, Khadija, fulfilled all of our needs with kindness. The breakfast and dinner buffets were the largest that I have ever experienced. If we ever have a chance to get back to this part of the world, we will be staying at Gold Zanzibar again.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The room was great, the food was delicious and we had good conversation and a lot of fun with the animation team Isaah and Shaaban, who played ping pong and volleyball with us and taught us the game bao. Thanks do all who created a great experience for us! :)

I called Gold To See if i and my fiancee who we just got engaged can book a table for dinner. I got Connected to Mr Anthony who is the head of food and beverage. What i thought was just a Normal dinner table turned to be the best surprise we could ever imagined. All this out of the honour for our engagement and we weren't even staying there. Everything from the moment we step in. The Care, the ambiance, the service. We are so Thankful Gold gave us this experience it was everything we needed and we have decided we will have our wedding there..... Thank You Gold and Mr Anthony

Top notch hotel! Service is thoughtfull and attentive. Food is great and the facilities are excellent. Big thumbs up for the hotel and staff.

I would like starting saying that the sea and the beach in front of the Gold is just incredible. The reception welcome you with smiles and they are so attentive to be there for you at any time, solving any issue that could emerge. I would like to thank the Gold Restaurant by the beach, starting from the executive chef and the sous chef Warren for making us feel at home, actually for letting us experience and savor the flavors of Zanzibar, for making us feel special (I highly recommend the tagliatelle and the lobster… simply spectacular!!!). To the staff of the Gold restaurant, especially Grace and Fadhila, for the exceptional and professional service, always attentive. Thank you to Issa and Lezingo for the smart entertainment never intrusive, always perceptive, and ready with a smile. To the staff of the Kilimanjaro restaurant for the incredible and delicious breakfasts, to Tuno for the always perfectly cooked eggs, and to Salma and all the waiters for their attention, care, and warm smiles. The food is just amazing!!! Finally, to Roberto, the hotel’s General Manager, as well as Ramses and Nicole, thank you for creating an incredible, welcoming, and high-level atmosphere, ensuring that the kindness and spirit of this island are highlighted and shared through the fantastic people that you are. It was a great trip, especially with a few good friends. Although there was no opposite sex, it did not affect our enjoyment of life and emotional release!
The hotel is really perfect, with complete facilities, pleasant environment, and all three meals in the restaurant are well arranged. It was also a romantic party... Walking along the white beach in the morning and evening, riding a motorboat with the sunset... Perfect!
Next time, I can really bring my family to Sang Island for a trip. It is hospitable and the scenery is pleasant!
