Really good value for money. The hotel is not five star, but it is in a great location and the service is great. Hotel is located one block from Park Hyatt, and within close distance to beach front restaurants.

A truly lovely place with great location!
The manager Hassan was extremely helpful, always smiling, ready for an advice, feedback and joke. Saumu handled my tours/excursions and she was also great!
My room was spacious and very clean. For breakfast they offer an entire menu.
Loved every second of it, definitely recommend it!

This is an absolutely horrible hotel in every aspect. Avoid it at all costs! It's overpriced and deserves maximum 1 or 2 stars. The rooms are so moldy, I could hardly breathe and sleep at night! It felt like I would breathe in all those mold spores. Also, be prepared to be woken up at 5am by a nearby mosque.
Additionally to the horrible old rooms, the hotel management seems to like to rip off their clients: As I had some stomach problems, I kindly asked for some porridge for breakfast instead of the fatty, sweet and unhealthy breakfast they offer. They asked me to pay 10 USD (!) for that porridge, which is unbelievable because it's like the cheapest breakfast you could have! What a scam! Furthermore, the Nepali guy at the reception is very disrespectful and has no manners! He should not work in tourism.

High quality of service and accommodation. Building up-kept and maintained very well. Manager was a man of high class and character, he was extremely accommodating.
Room was cozy and very clean — AC worked perfectly.

Clean rooms that tick all the boxes if you are just going to be out and about in Stonetown. Breakfast is also nice. However the best thing in this hotel is the staff. Santosh, Sebastian, Sabrina and team are extremely friendly, accomodating and go over and beyond to make you feel at home for your stay. They did very well to coordinate our large group of 10+ people and were always there to help with anything including organising excursions. Would definitely recommend staying here when you're in Stonetown and can't wait to return. Thank you Al Minar team 😀

Is a nice place to stay in Stone Town. Exactly in the city center, good AC, friendly & welcoming staff, clean rooms and towels. The only disadvantage we encountered was the noisy bed, cracking at every move. For sure you can easily stay here for few nights, when visiting the town. Thank you!
