Maru Maru was a great find for our group trip to Stone Town. The location was great. We enjoyed the roof top restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend and stay there again.

I booked this hotel for my Mother while she was in Zanzibar. She loved the place. The room was large and very clean. The restaurant offered delectable dishes. When she arrived there was some confusion with the booking. The front desk was so kind and helpful to my Mom and made her arrival a pleasure.

It was incredible. The staff was very accommodating, the resort is absolutely stunning, and there is lots to do on the property. The receptionist Carol is fantastic and I will definitely be coming back here. They made it first time in Zanzibar very memorable.

This is supposed to be a 4 star Resort. Our room towels were changed on day6. We had no fridge in the room. The coffee station was only filled on day 2 and day 6. Great resort but giving it a 3 as they were busy with construction when we were there which is not ideal. Rooms never had any coffee only tea. Amazingly friendly staff. Great view of the ocean, not ideal to go and tan on the beach, but next to the pool and bar is great.

Great resort. Amazing team. The reason it's a 4 and not a five is because of the same breakfast menu everyday and the beach which is not great to swim in because of the mud like sand in the water. Lunch and Dinner on the other hand are great. Amazing SPA as well

I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Stone Town. It is close to all the attractions. There is a wonderful restaurant on the roof with a view, where it is always cool. The food is delicious. There is a swimming pool and a coffee shop. The rooms are comfortable, with air conditioning, hot water and bathrobes. Cleaning is top notch.

Location is by the sea. Facilities and services are average.

Even the room with no sea view from the balcony (see video) was sold as a sea view room; the check-out time was set before 10 am, which was unheard of; there were a lot of complaints...

The price/performance ratio is good for an all-inclusive hotel in Zanzibar. The beach outside the hotel is very beautiful. The sunset is super beautiful. I spent three nights happily.

If you like the local style, this hotel is the best among the hotels and is highly recommended. Because it is right by the sea, there will be crows as your companions during the open breakfast. If you are afraid, just sit under the eaves!

The room is very big and the electrical appliances are Chinese brands! The beach is right at the door, so it's convenient to go out to the sea. The hotel has three swimming pools and the children had a lot of fun. It's very convenient to go to Stone Town, just a few steps away.

Really beautiful place in the center, walking distance from almost everything! I loved the breakfast that comes included in the price and the hospitality of the receptionist! The only thing is the wifi does not work in the 3rd floor and the hotwater does not work in the bathroom as weel.

Beautiful hotel in the middle of Stone Town! Very good location. Rooms were kept clean and comfortable, beds came with mosquito netting. The restaurant up top offered great food with good service and the accompanying view was breathtaking! Also let us keep our luggage there while after we checked out and were busy during the day doing activities. Thanks for the great stay!

A nice place in the heart of Stone town. Very lovely view from the rooftop restaurant and the food is delightful. Not the best bathroom but you have electricity and hot water all day. The staff is lovely and always ready to help you. There is a everyday cleaning.

The rooms had a stale smell but generally clean. The food was great. The staff super hospitable and the ocean view was interesting.

The swimming pool was nice. The beach does not exist but the ocean view is one to die for.

Everything was perfect, from the welcoming to the beautiful rooms, comfortable, clean... You can relax peacefully even in the middle of the city. They take good care of you and help in anything you may require. I can recommend it 100%. You will not regret it.

In the core location of Stone City, there is a highly rated restaurant on the rooftop. It takes only five minutes to walk to the night market. The free shortbread for check-in is very fragrant and delicious. The room is clean and comfortable. I will stay here again next time I go to Stone City

Room 204 needs an uplift. The bed isn’t in good condition, the aircon isn’t in good shape too. Broken shower head and the toilet seat is cracking. The mirror in the room is also very misty and there is a smell that just won’t go away. The service is good though, the staff is polite and attentive.
