Maru Maru was a great find for our group trip to Stone Town. The location was great. We enjoyed the roof top restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend and stay there again.

I booked this hotel for my Mother while she was in Zanzibar. She loved the place. The room was large and very clean. The restaurant offered delectable dishes. When she arrived there was some confusion with the booking. The front desk was so kind and helpful to my Mom and made her arrival a pleasure.

Really beautiful place in the center, walking distance from almost everything! I loved the breakfast that comes included in the price and the hospitality of the receptionist! The only thing is the wifi does not work in the 3rd floor and the hotwater does not work in the bathroom as weel.

Beautiful hotel in the middle of Stone Town! Very good location. Rooms were kept clean and comfortable, beds came with mosquito netting. The restaurant up top offered great food with good service and the accompanying view was breathtaking! A nice place in the heart of Stone town. Very lovely view from the rooftop restaurant and the food is delightful. Not the best bathroom but you have electricity and hot water all day. The staff is lovely and always ready to help you. There is a everyday cleaning.

Tembo is a great place to stay in during your visit to Zanzibar. I stayed at the appartments since it was the cheaper option, and you still get to hang out at the main hotel, which is 2 mins walking and use its facilities (Lounge, pool, breakfast buffet and sunbeds) My room was big with a balcony, a safe, oriental bathtub, fridge, working AC and a big comfortable bed. Nice hotel in the heart of stone town. Safe and secure, great restaurant upstairs, close to everything. The only downside it that the front door is back some alleys from the taxi drop-off, but we never felt nervous or that security was an issue. I would book it again. Great staff too!!!!

The best hotel in Stone Town in the price range up to $40! Buffet breakfast. Clean pool. Nice staff. There are no scales at the reception, we left for the airport with suitcases at random, it turned out to be 8 kg overweight. Excellent restaurant on the hotel grounds. During the day, during lunch, you can swim in the pool. They gave you a free towel. Stayed here for 2 nights while exploring stone town. Very nice spacious room, and on the day we had a late flight they let us stay in another nice (but smaller) room downstairs all day. Great view right on the water from the rooftop bar. Central location. Was quite happy with our stay here.
