The ambience is good overall. The location is the best about this property.

The furniture is nice, but general condition of the room is quite average, especially bathrooms. I would say it needs some renovation, at least some touches must be done that it looks tidier

The hotel is beautiful, looking exactly like the photos. They indulged us in a lovely Valentine's Day dinner with great entertainment. You should also try their spa as it is relaxing.

They have a small pool on the rooftop and a gym on the ground floor plus a badminton court. Location is very convenient smack center of stone town and stone throw away from many of the highlights and landmarks

Maru Maru was a great find for our group trip to Stone Town. The location was great. We enjoyed the roof top restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend and stay there again.

I booked this hotel for my Mother while she was in Zanzibar. The room was large and very clean. The restaurant offered delectable dishes. When she arrived there was some confusion with the booking

We had a lovely one night stay at Marumaru. The double room was above our expectation. We got to check in an hour early. The room was very clean and the bathroom was very modern and clean as well

The front desk was so kind and helpful to my Mom and made her arrival a pleasure

The hotel management as well as the waitresses and employees, such as Hilda, are all incredibly nice, courteous and helpful. I feel very well taken care of. The drinks are all delicious and are prepared quickly

The drink and meal prices are higher than most places nearby, but the ambiance and service are worth it. We also enjoyed the pool area on the days that were sunny

I came with friends to see the sea. It is in the center of Stone Town and has a good location. Overall it is good and I will choose it again if I have the chance.

It's not new, but very beautiful. When we checked in, they said there were no sea view rooms, what a pity. ; The hotel is on the west side of the island

The downside of the hotel is that the private beach that the hotel has is a little bit far and the water is not so great, but the two beautiful pools compensate

Surrounded by breathtaking views. We were full board and there was not 1 meal we could say anything negative about. We are already booking a family vacation to the hotel for 2024. I would highly recommend this hotel

We stayed at the hotel for a work conference. The room was clean, neat, and very well maintained during my stay. The staff went above and beyond to be friendly and helpful. The property is simply amazing

The guy who took our duffel bags with a big smile up and down the stairs really knows what customer service is. We had 3 rooms with beach view. Rooms were clean and spacious

He gave us lots of tips for Stone Town and also of a cultural nature. The breakfast is great, the selection at the buffet is local and international, as is the dinner

Very good hotel, good environment, good service, a small beach, clean swimming pool. We booked a one-price package with three meals included, and the food was very good and it felt very worthwhile.

At Zanzi you wake up - look out into the jungle or the ocean, jump in the pool, and wait for breakfast to be brought to your room

Zanzi Resort is the best hotel experience. Love the late breakfast until 12 in the room in front of our private pool

Close to Stone Town, so if you want to combine with Zafari and stuff then this is one of the better locations compared to the north and east sides. Zanzi is perfect for couples and families wanting to hang out together

Anna and her team ensured superior service and made my stay all the more memorable and enjoyable. The dinner on the jetty was simply sublime. The spice jungle on the property made for tranquil walks and reflection

If you want to see some of the long Zanzibar beaches - then I might combine with another hotel (if you have not seen the long beaches before). Some will likely be disappointed with low tide beach play

Upon bringing this to the Resort Managers attention, her reply was simply," we did not put in a fridge because we wanted to save energy. And she will inform house keeping to replace our room towels

This is supposed to be a 4 star Resort. Our room towels were changed on day6. The coffee station was only filled on day 2 and day 6

Great view of the ocean, not ideal to go and tan on the beach, but next to the pool and bar is great

The staff was very accommodating, the resort is absolutely stunning, and there is lots to do on the property. The receptionist Carol is fantastic and I will definitely be coming back here

They made it first time in Zanzibar very memorable

The reason it's a 4 and not a five is because of the same breakfast menu everyday and the beach which is not great to swim in because of the mud like sand in the water. Lunch and Dinner on the other hand are great

The food was excellent at this property. Chef Livingston prepared great food full of flavor. You could tell that he enjoyed his job. The property was very clean and the staff were very personable

I visited zanzibar for business and this property is ideal for leisure and business. I stayed 2 nights rooms are clean, staff are friendly.

Meals (outside of breakfast) were not as good as expected and the hotel’s zero alcohol policy needs to be much more widely advertised rather than just a footnote

For 12/31/24- it’s mandatory for all in-house guests but there was no space for us! You know it’s mandatory, you know we are going to be charged but all tables are booked and they didn’t say “you have to book in advance

I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Stone Town. It is close to all the attractions. There is a wonderful restaurant on the roof with a view, where it is always cool. There is a swimming pool and a coffee shop

The overall feeling is good, but the network is not good and it is a bit far from the swimming pool.

If you like the local style, this hotel is the best among the hotels and is highly recommended. Because it is right by the sea, there will be crows as your companions during the open breakfast

The room is very big and the electrical appliances are Chinese brands! The beach is right at the door, so it's convenient to go out to the sea. The hotel has three swimming pools and the children had a lot of fun

The price/performance ratio is good for an all-inclusive hotel in Zanzibar. The beach outside the hotel is very beautiful. The sunset is super beautiful. I spent three nights happily.

The place is really nice, but noisy and at some point especially from 3pm as there several sports activities around the beach area. The beach is really dirty and not taken care of.

It is only a very short drive to the airport, so I would recommend it to anyone in the same situation. It enabled me to have a swim, a siesta and a very long shower before facing the ordeal of an overnight flight

They are fast when you call for help. The breakfast is good as well, but they don’t have a breakfast buffet, you order what ever you want from the menu

I only stayed at this hotel for a few hours while waiting for an evening flight and it was perfect for the purpose, although showing a few signs of age

Very efficient and welcoming resort manager (South African national). Don’t come here if you’re after a resort vibe, a la minute American style butler service, hotel rooms a la Accor hotel group, animation teams, etc

Pros: close to the airport, customer service is impeccable, place is surprisingly clean, seaside view is mesmerizing. Cons: no alcohol, short menu, no alcohol... NO ALCOHOL. Would definitely recommend for a short stay.

The room had a balcony and a view of the embankment. The hotel and rooms are made in the old colonial style. The room is clean, in the evening, if desired, they treated for mosquitoes. Excellent pool in the courtyard

We liked the place. Room was great etc. The elevator is funky, requiring patrons to fully close cage door when exiting. If not done properly, others can't use. Otherwise, the place was great.

Very close to the ferry to Dar es Salaam. The hotel building is very historic. The room is large and the sea view is right outside the window. The breakfast is rich. The restaurant is on the balcony facing the sea.

Such a lovely hotel for a very affordable price. Located in the city center next to those winding shopping streets, very stylish with the vintage furniture on the inside and incredibly helpful staff!

The Dhow Palace was very comfortable and clean and in a great spot set away from the port and some of the tourist hotspots where the guys will try and hustle you to go on a tour

I enjoyed seeing all the curated old artifacts and reading up on the 500 year history of the place. The room was comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was modern and clean

Nice place with very nice view. It's historic at the same time modern. The pool is kinda small but ok. The view though earns 5 stars, very nice and clean beach

The beach was awesome with great sunsets. Had a two twin bed room that was converted to a queen by combining the beds. Room was clean enough but the tiles were an off brown that made them look not so clean

And above all, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful - particularly manager Issa. He personally went above and beyond helping me with a special matter. Can't say enough good things

The staff is very helpful, but like most islands things just tend to be slower. The food service takes a while but I appreciated it as it seemed everything was cooked when ordered

Africa house sunset bar sea view was amazing & historical place. have a wonderful place to fun & joy.. one of the best place in stone town. also have a Tanzanite shop.. best place to buy Tanzanite jewellers & stone.

The restaurant has the most amazing terrace overlooking the ocean to enjoy the sunset. The staff are very nice and kind. Manas, the manager, has been most helpful for any information we needed

I was here in 2004 as an 11 year old kid and I still think about this place and their fries. All burned into my memory all these years later. Thank you to the fry cook all those years ago

Really nice Chinese restaurant in Africa. I would say this is not a localised Chinese restaurant as aChinese. Worth to visit if u want to have real Chinese food here.

Africa House Hotel is an old historic building in Stone Town. Great location, comfortable, spacious, beautiful room and includes a good breakfast
