I walked in the hotel and it looked really nice and the rooms very comfortable but there was a cockroach roaming in our room when we came in. We asked to either be moved or have housekeeping clean the room but receive neither of the requests. I will not recommend staying at this hotel. Who knows how many more roaches you’ll find.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our time here. The rooms were clean and the staff were super accommodating. The bar was super nice. The gentleman (his name escapes me, the Hispanic fella) who served us was on point, top notch drinks and the food was so good. I highly recommend the Charleston Burger.

I've stayed at Cambria twice in the past. The 1st time was good, 2nd times wasn't as happy with the room but the 3rd time was awful. We check-in and the lady working was nice. Got to the room (a suite with it's own living room) and noticed the couch they have in the picture wasn't in the bedroom. Not a huge deal we still made it work since we had a couch in the living room with a pullout bed. Go down to guest services and ask for extra pillows and extra towels. I was able to get extra towels but no extra pillows, was told they didn't have any to give. So we had 4 people in a room and only had pillows for 2 people. Then we went out for dinner and came back and the room was so warm, the AC wasn't working at all in the living room. I text the number telling the issues with no response or cares given. I'd already text the number earlier that day so I know it was being monitored and they just didn't care enough to respond. Went to checkout the next morning and the woman at the front desk just seemed like we were bothering her by checking out. She didn't bother to ask us how the room was, if there were any problems or anything, she just took the key and kept working on the computer. Definitely will not be going back or recommend to anyone else.

Honest review.
The staff is excellent and friendly. The lady at the front desk is super sweet. Gabby and Mark at the bar are so amazing. The shrimp and grits at the bar is outstanding. The rooms don’t have dressers and that’s my only complaint. It has been a great experience here.

**Disappointing Stay - Would Not Recommend**

I booked the Cambria Hotel Charleston Riverview for two nights but left after just one due to the poor conditions. While the hotel has been renovated, it was done with cheap materials and attention to detail was lacking. I found two nails on the floor of my room, and all three rooms I saw had dirty floors upon entry. The strong aroma in the lobby, which smells clean but overwhelming, feels like it's masking something unpleasant.

The room itself was humid when I arrived, and despite turning on the AC, by the next morning everything felt damp, including the bed. The air had a strange odor, and I lost my voice and experienced throat discomfort, which is unusual for me as I don’t have any health issues or allergies. The front desk tried to accommodate me by offering another room, but it was in worse condition—as far as air quality and the cleanliness.

The common areas weren’t any better—tables in the restaurant were dirty with crumbs and fingerprints. The shower in my room had some red liquid on the tiles, and the shower floor and hotel room floor clearly hadn’t been properly cleaned in some time. The room I stayed in also had a strange smell, and baseboards popping off. The TV wasn’t even mounted, and paint was peeling off in various spots.

While I appreciate the clean towels, the overall condition of the hotel is unacceptable, especially for the price. I moved to same priced hotel nearby and immediately felt better—no strong cover-up smells, no humidity issues, and the quality of the room was significantly better. Although I still feel sick and the sides affects from staying with Cambria. Cambria feels like a catfish based on the pictures and atmosphere they portray online. They clearly have mold issues in the vents, which is unacceptable, even in Charleston’s humid climate. This place doesn’t even meet the standards of a 3-star hotel. I would not stay here again or at any other Cambria property. I didn’t even ask to be compensated, I knew that wasn’t going to happen. The only reason we came here was because our home got destroyed and was left without utilities, gas, or food from hurricane Helene. Sure didn’t expect to get sick here from what I think is moldy rooms.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights while visiting Charleston. It is a newer and nice hotel but, more employees are needed d to maintain the appearance of this resort style hotel. The location is great for enjoying the sites and activities in this beautiful city. Our room was very clean, except a little more attention is needed when cleaning the shower and the windows. The swimming pool near the fire pits were really nice for relaxing. The staff was very friendly. A special thanks to Andrae who greeted us with his awesome low country charm, this made us feel right at home. He was always busy ,but took time to make certain we had every thing we needed to be comfortable. Two nights we stayed in the beautiful lobby area to play cards, we observed that he worked non stopped but, his personality and work ethics were outstanding. When we needed towels, had problems with the door key and our trash empty, Megan and Solo were right on time to help, a special thanks to them also .Three hardworking young people who definitely need to be rewarded for their long hours of hard work and professionalism in order to provide great customer service.
