From the first greeting by the parking attendants upon arrival to the pleasant check out by the staff at the front desk every interaction with the staff at The Charleston place was excellent. We will be quick to return the next time visit to Charleston.
Disappointed that the pool was being renovated. But the hotel was beautiful and in a perfect location.
Excellent luxury hotel
They had an air conditioning system issue during our visit
Truly exceptional stay! From the moment we arrived, the staff impressed us with their attentiveness and eye for detail—they triple-checked everything to make sure our experience was seamless. The location is a dream: step outside and you’re surrounded by charming shops, incredible restaurants, and the buzz of the Market. We were disappointed to miss a dip in the pool since it was closed for upgrades...
Our first trip to Charleston… absolutely the best place to stay! Exquisite, beautiful hotel, with courteous, helpful staff! Location was walking distance to everything we wanted to see! I will definitely be coming back!
This was such a lovely hotel with friendly staff. It is so convenient to all the downtown shops and attractions.

Beautiful resort and rooms. Pools and hut tub are wonderful right on the water. Water taxi to downtown was quick and easy. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We love Charleston Harbor Resort! We have been vacationing here for 5 years and it never disappoints!! Can’t wait until next year!!! Or maybe CHRISTMAS!
Very nice establishment.. Enjoyed our time. Great location and scenery as well. Convenient to downtime and restaurants also.
Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff. I wish I could have stayed longer after the business was finished. Looking forward to coming back for a vacation. Five star quality, for sure!
We booked a harbor view room, but when we got to our room, it was basically a peek a boo view of the harbor to our left. It mostly overlooked the pool. We went back to the front desk, and they graciously gave us a harbor view room. The rooms are small for the price you pay to stay here. There is also a daily resort fee. We love the location, which is very close to a lot of restaurants in Mt. Pleasant
First night here & one of the best places I've ever stayed. Wasn't sure where to stay for my first visit to Charleston, SC. With free parking, a resort shuttle to historic Charleston, & the availability of the water taxi, this seems like the perfect base to explore the area. If I find that changes, I'll update this review.

We celebrated our 25th anniversary at the Hotel Bennett and throughly enjoyed our stay. However the shining star at this hotel is Kevin the concierge. We had read about Kevin prior to our stay and hoped he would be available to plan all of our activities and dining in his beautiful city. He was not only available but full of enthusiasm to help plan our perfect itinerary. He thoughtfully asked us about...
We had a beautiful experience from the beginning to end of our stay. Mia welcomed us at the front desk at our check in and was so kind and friendly. Our room was stunning and so very comfortable. The bed was divine. Bottled water is provided both in the room and at the front desk. My husband worked with a wonderful concierge, Kevin, who worked some magic and made us resevations at an already booked...
Excellet experience. Staff was amazing - shout out to Aubrey and Ashley in the Club Lounge. Great southern hospitality and charm. Hotel is warm and welcoming and made our stay amazing. This is an absolute 5 star hotel experience. TY Hotel Bennett for a wonderful experience.
Probably one of the best hotels ever stayed at. The hotel itself is beautiful but the staff is phenomenal. Ashley and Aubrey went above and beyond to make our stay special. Southern charm meets excellence.
Everything was amazing. The front desk, Mary Rose supported our experience with suggestions and recommendations. She also deserved 5 stars. The roof top Pool and bar added to our positive experience!
This was a great hotel with outstanding service and high attention to detail. The location is great. The rooms are spacious and the hotel is very clean. I highly recommend this as the attention to detail is high. There are also many good food options.

My wife and I stayed for our anniversary, and it was nothing short of exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel special, surprising us with an anniversary plate and a chilled bottle of champagne after we got back from dinner the first night, which set the tone for the entire stay. Our room was stunning. Room service and turndown service were always prompt and on-point, with no issues...
The Dewberry is an attractive, chic hotel. The attitude and helpfulness of the staff is excellent. The room and the amenities are also very good. For me, the only negative is that there is a lot of non-guest traffic in the hotel, due to a very popular rooftop bar. The dining options were actually bars, where you could order some food from a limited menu, not really restaurants.
Fabulous every single time! Stayed here in August 2022 and dreamed about coming back ever since. Citrus Club is great, but we became obsessed with the lobby bar cocktails and insisted on ending our night there. Love!
A lovely hotel in a fantastic location with incredible service and staff. The rooms are very nicely appointed. The staff are the stars of the hotel. I will definitely return when in Charleston again!
The location, atmosphere and rooms were excellent. The cost is higher that what I typically pay for accommodations. That said, my stay was superb. I am now spoiled for anything else.
Such a fantastic visit! Thank you to everyone at the Dewberry for making me feel so welcome for my first trip to Charleston, especially Austin, Jared, Amanda and Sarah. (There were several others but I didn't get everyone's names.) The suite was beautiful and I loved the charming armoir, modern bathroom design and "suite treat" house made popcorn, view of the park and overall vibe of the hotel. I went...

No detail is spared. Everyone is friendly and says hello. The room was 2x the size we expected and no amenities were spared. In room Cokes, water, sparkling water, La Colombe coffee and snacks are included with your stay! Bathroom was perfect. The mattress, sheets and pillows; all glorious. When we looked for hotels, The Spectator was a slight premium to others. Maybe 10%? Worth every penny...
We had a fantastic experience staying at the Spectator Hotel. The hotel is beautiful and comfortable. We loved the gold chocolate nuggets to enjoy as you enter. The service is top of the line- every staff member was extremely kind and helpful. The room was very comfortable and the food was delicious. All of the special touches- snacks, drinks, turn down service, breakfast, etc made for a wonderful...
My husband and I have visited Spectator every time we visit Charleston. This past trip is our 5th time staying there. We love the level of service and warmth from the front desk, butlers (shout out to David, and Jim) and of course everything that Alan creates at the bar. The location is also amazing because it allows you to walk to everything. Carlo the manager, took care of us before and during our...
This was one of the best stays I’ve ever had, if not the best. They made my wife’s stay very special for her birthday! The staff was very warm and welcoming and made it as special with the requests I made and also went above and beyond that! Shout out Jim and David, thank you! Also the bar was phenomenal, I had one of the best drinks I’ve had in a while, it tasted just like fruity pebbles-so good!...
The spectator hotel should be called “the Spectacular” the facilities are exceptional, the staff makes people feel like good friends and we always leave, with a warm, satisfied feeling. We make “the Spectator” a stop on our semi annual trip, to and from Florida to North Carolina.
Great hotel in a great location! Their service is second to none as well as their attention to detail! We loved the in room breakfast each morning, the Butler service was fantastic and the hotel bar is a great place to finish out each evening! We will be back

Wentworth Mansion Hotel
Charleston, 149 Wentworth Street 🧭 Map
The hotel has one of the best views in Charleston and the building is an amazing piece of Charleston history. Much of it has been preserved, and Bryan the concierge was an encyclopedia of the history of the building and the Rodgers family. We could not have had a better stay!
My husband and I did a staycation celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and his birthday. We had a wonderful time. Our room was luxurious and the staff attentive. Happy hour was a fun time to meet some fellow visitors. We would recommend it for a special occasion. Easy to explore Charleston by walking.
I will start off by saying that we had mixed feelings about our arrival at the mansion. The building and the grounds are absolutely lovely but the front desk clerk seemed to be examining us head to toe. We were guided through a quick tour of the hotel and shown to our room. The room was on the 4th floor and was spacious and lovely. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and complimentary. ...
What a beautiful hotel! It was like taking a luxury trip back in time with the antique furnishings, gas fireplaces and curving staircase. Our room was large and very comfortable - extra pillows and towels were provided quickly. And the copula is a great spot to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset (or sunrise!). Breakfast was a wonderful surprise! Fresh pastries, fruit and a variety of menu...
Absolutely lovely hotel and a delightful, gracious staff. We felt transported to another time. The antiques and the common areas were stunning. The staff also worked tirelessly to make everything perfect - including the food. The view from the Cupola provided perspective on Charleston architecture in a way that would have been hard to see otherwise. We will be back and will likely try a different...
What a wonderful and beautiful place to stay. My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here and it couldn’t have been nicer. Not only was the staff amazing but every detail was taken care of. We were treated like royalty. The elegance of this hotel has an old-world feel, which seems to pull you back in time to an era where men and women would dress up for every occasion. The craftsmanship and finishes of this building will have you in awe. The people who work here are all friendly and willing to help. This is a little on the pricey side, but we'll be worth the cost.
I had a decent stay at the Francis Marion Hotel — a beautiful historic property right in the heart of downtown Charleston. The location is unbeatable, with King Street shopping, restaurants, and historic sites just steps away. The lobby is elegant and charming, and the staff were consistently friendly and professional. My room had a classic feel with modern touches, and the views of the city were fantastic...
The staff is friendly and courteous. The rooms are clean and pretty. I love that Starbucks is practically in the hotel.
We absolutely loved our stay this past weekend. The texting feature before check-in was very convenient as they asked the time of arrival to assure our room was ready - which it was. Staff was very friendly! The rooms are very nice. Bathroom is small, but considering this hotel was built in the early 1900s, I appreciate the fact they’re preserving the history of this place. Beds were super comfy and...
This is the hotel I was most dissatisfied with during this trip. Apart from its good location, there is nothing else to recommend, except that the white guy who helped with parking was very responsible. Before leaving, I went to find him and gave him a tip to express my gratitude.
Great location, parking is quite reasonable for $20/day

The beds were so comfortable and they come with a fridge which is nice for storing beverages. Each floor has a water and ice refill station. The pool chairs are comfy.
The only thing I would say is that the pool food menu could use a little work. I would stay here again. Gorgeous lobby and great location.
Right in the heart of downtown, Mills house sticks out beautifully. The color of the hotel is to be adored, along with the details of art and history on the inside. The rooftop bar is large and has great views. Staff was amazing and friendly, valet was awesome and more than likely needed in the area. Will stay again!
Picture-perfect (inside and out) hotel in the heart of downtown Charleston, South Carolina in the heart of the French Quarter. Perfect for first-time travelers those on business and more.

The room is very clean. There is a cafe on the first floor of the hotel. The coffee is delicious. There is a very delicious restaurant called Husk next to the hotel.
The hotel is really beautiful. I love that it's a historic build and is close to everything in Downtown Charleston. Housekeeping is wonderful. Usually you have to put the towels on the ground for them to change them out at Hilton properties but this one I didn't even have to do that. It was a pleasant surprise when I got back to the room. The lobby of this hotel is warm and welcoming, but trendy. The...
A very large & spacious hotel (8 stories) in the heart of downtown Charleston, very near to tons of shopping & restaurants. I had read some reviews about the staff concentrating on the large wedding/catering/business meeting events, but that was not the case on our weekend. Disappointment
We had a reservation for a King in the Enclave. With VIP access it should have included a complimentary bottle of wine, late check out, etc.
We we arrived we were directed to the Vendue building for check in saying our room had been moved. Why ??
Could this be a result of a 3rd party booking? -- AND the fact evelavtor in the main building was out of service during our entire stay. ...
Mini vacation
Lobby is beautiful and artwork is creative and funky. Rooftop bar was nice, bartender was great and food was good. The room well nice did have a musty smell to it and cleanliness was subpar.
Location, location, location. That’s really all that was noteworthy. We were not impressed with the overall cleanliness which was lacking especially in the bathroom.
Expected more given the cost and will likely not return.
Fantastic service, very accommodating staff. Our room did not have a window, which I preferred since it minimized street noise and I wasn’t woken up by the sun.
Wonderful Staff
The entire staff was tremendous. From the front desk to housekeeping everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel has a funky style and great location.
Perfect L
The Vendue is perfectly located in the French Quarter. Everything from the park, water taxi, shops, food, market, King Street, etc. were all accessible by foot. Not to mention the Rooftop at the Vendue was one of the best rooftop views of all the restaurants we visited. The staff was friendly and the room was great. Will highly recommend to friends and family.

I really want to gate keep and not tell that this is my new favorite place to stay in Charleston when visiting but they really deserve the accolades. Our king balcony suite was perfect. We spent 4 nights last week celebrating a special event. We were very impressed with the French Quarter Inn and highly recommend it to other travelers. The service, ambience, room, food, location, etc. were all superb. We look forward to returning on a future visit to Charleston.
Exceptional Stay at the French Quarters Inn!
We had an incredible experience at the French Quarters Inn in Charleston. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was outstanding. Stayed here in August 2024 and had an absolutely amazing experience. The customer service here is top notch and it flowed through every single staff member there. They did everything they could to make our stay great. The breakfast that is included is phenomenal - not your typical basic breakfast. There were 4 or 5 different options and all were really good. It's a boutique hotel, so smaller and...
My wife and I absolutely loved our stay at this gem of a hotel! Nestled in a prime location, it's just steps away from a bustling market and a short, delightful stroll to incredible restaurants and shopping. Best hotel I've ever stayed at. Honestly they ruined me for what I expected from customer service. I wish this hotel staff worked in every hotel. Complimentary drinks and cheese when you walk in, a few foreign currency tips, and it makes for an exciting experience. Don't tip and you'll still get the best hotel entry you've ever had. This place is a gem. The rooms are large and comfortable... and quiet! Daily breakfast to suit your requirements and the daily wine and cheese hour was such a luxurious addition. Their rooftop patio is a wonderful oasis. Friendly staff and convenient location. Loved this place!
Best hotel in my life. Enough Southern hospitality and more than enough European style. The place you want to return to..
We'll be back! Here, every employee took the guests' happiness seriously. No matter who we spoke to, everyone was so welcoming, friendly and caring. It was all perfect for us - we really couldn't imagine anything better. The room was also spotless and the location of the hotel was very convenient. It is next to the ocean and fountain; tons of good restaurants nearby (just make sure you...
This hotel has an ideal location. The rooms are very clean, well decorated and have great views. We looked out over the harbour. Don the valet/concierge was fantastic. Every morning the breakfast was wonderful, warm and served in the room. Don't hesitate because the construction is closest to the water. The noise is not a big deal and occurs very rarely. Would definitely stay here again if I return...
Perfect location, within walking distance of the market, authentic downtown Charleston restaurants such as Poogan’s porch and more. Fantastic. The HarborView inn has an amazing waterfront view of Charleston. The rooms are very spacious and elegant.
I meant to write this review back in July when I stayed but something just happened today that reminded me of writing this review. Everything about our stay at harbor view in was great, but the luggage boy Jackson was beyond amazing. Beautiful hotel with the perfect central location downtown. Super friendly staff. Smooth check-in & check-out with staff handling car parking. Highly recommend!
I haven't experienced a hotel with such friendly helpful staff! Fantastic! The hotel was beautifully maintained and exceptionally clean. Perfectly located to everything. I will not stay anywhere else in Charleston from now on.
Love historic hotel with wonderful staff and great restaurant . Courtyard was beautiful and really felt a sense of history and southern charm . Great location in the middle of downtown Charleston across from the historic market.
