Galt House Hotel, A Trademark Collection Hotel, Louisville1 / 50

This was a really nice hotel. The lobby was super nice. You can tell it’s an older hotel. It had an old city hotel feel but kept up to date. Glass elevators that go up through the main lobby. The hotel is separated. It has two main buildings that are connected by a walkway between the two buildings. I believe the one building is the original hotel and the second building where the lobby is located...
The hotel is very beautiful and elegant, but the room itself was pretty basic. We expected more from the room. It is in a great location and the amenities that it does have to offer is very great. The one restaurant inside that serves the pizza was not good. Service was good but food was not but the hotel overall is very beautiful and in a good location for visiting Louisville.
We stayed in the East Tower - suite. Rooms were a great size! Location was perfect!!! We were able to walk everywhere. Front desk was a bit eh. And while the rooms were nice they were great. Now! The valet staff were top notch amazing!! Nick and Chance were especially fantastic. 100 times over recommend using their valet services.
The location was superb. Right in the middle of everything. Good in walking distance. Great murals painted everywhere.
Stayed 3 nights, each day they cleaned the room, fresh towels. TV wasn't working they fixed quickly. Staff all very nice as well. Walking distance to everything downtown and nice bars, restraunts in house as well. Only down side was the additional 30.00 daily parking. Did also appreciate the added security of needing the room key to access elevator. Wish we would of upgraded to room with a view. Ate...
This hotel is bar none, my absolute favorite and I was so sad to leave. We booked a 2 bedroom suite with private balcony in the east tower. The view of the Ohio River was spectacular. Everyone we encountered at the hotel was super friendly. Gerard, our bellhop, was so welcoming. We stayed here 9/2-9/4. The valet service was worth every penny and not a single hotel worker expected a tip, but was gracious...

The hotel is conveniently located across from the convention center; there’s even an enclosed walkway to utilize in bad weather. The rooms are updated, clean, and spacious. I was disappointed they didn’t offer breakfast included. There is a restaurant and a coffee shop in the lobby. There’s also a club Marriott on the ground floor.
I'm checking out later today. My plane got me in early and they were able to graciously offer me an early check-in. The professional who checked me in was also able to give me a quick checklist of sites that are walkable in between my conference sessions. The hotel room was the cleanest I've ever seen. I always check when I first enter a hotel room and the housekeeping staff are really exceptional...
I have had a great stay at the Louisville Marriott Downtown. Here for a three-night work trip. Service has been stellar. I am particularly impressed with the folks in the concierge/l lounge/M Club and with the valet staff. In particular, Briana on the valet team was a delightful person and very helpful! Would definitely return and stay here.
The hotel was beautiful! Our room was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. We had a nice view of the river. The staff was friendly, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We went out to eat a couple of times at some great restaurants that were within a 10-minute walk. The M Club was nice, but we were frequently hounded about membership access, even though we had already paid for it.
We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Louisville Marriott Downtown Hotel, and "pleasure" doesn’t even begin to describe our experience. From the moment we stepped out of the car, we were warmly greeted by every staff member we encountered. The front desk team, including the manager Oliver Jenks, made us feel incredibly welcome, enhancing our joy by acknowledging our anniversary with heartfelt...

Nice hotel rooms are very nice. Service is good but the restaurant options in the hotel are limited. The restaurant is pretty good but for example it's brunch Is exactly the same everyday. No variety... Also, they really don't know what to do with dietary restrictions but otherwise good. Hotel to stay at the staff is very friendly and helpful in the rooms like I said are quite clean. I go there once...
Paid 140 for a night in November for a room with a balcony. Room was clean and the thermostat worked. Had a ice bucket and ice machine that worked. Close to airport. Plenty of towels and rags. Beds were good and pillows were super comfy. I’d visit again. They poop but I didn’t use it. It had everything I needed for a comfortable stay
A great place to stay you are less than 3 minutes from the airport. Really good spot a nice quick overnight to get a good night's sleep so you don't have to fight the traffic in the morning. You're able to leave your car at the hotel take the shuttle and then come back and pick your car up and go. Internet could be better and I will say this hotel is very active so if you want a good night's sleep...
My wife and i had a great experience here. Made memories that will last a lifetime. The place is very nice and very well kept. Probably one of the nicest places we have stayed at. The rooms were up to date with all the amenities one should come to expect from a nice hotel like this one. The expo rooms were nice. The pool was really cool looking even though we didn't get the chane to utilize it. Some...
It was adequate, but for the price I would have expected more amenities. The pool was good, but there was no hot tub. The rooms were clean and nice, but no refrigerator or microwave. The in-house restaurant (Blue Horse) was a bit overpriced and offered very little in the way of vegan options.
Amazing location if you are attending an event at the Kentucky Exposition Center (located across the street). The rooms are spacious but the dicor is a bit dated and could be improved. There are only two elevators and can be slow when the hotel is fully occupied. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel.

We are frequent guests at The Brown, always outstanding in every way. I have ordered the scallops many times in past dining, always amazing. My meal last night was rather disappointing, the Scallops were gritty like pieces of sand on them—My friend’s Scallops were as well. I feel they also needed a risotto or some sort of starch side with the Scallops, I was not able to eat the mushrooms served...
Perfect location for exploring Louisville. Beautiful historical hotel on the main drag! Easy to walk to restaurants. Rooms need some updating, but they are kept to the historic period. Beds are comfortable. Love the friendly valet service, especially Mahid. Margaret B at the front desk was so helpful and professional. We enjoyed our stay. Ice view from the rooftop.
We had an exceptional stay this past weekend celebrating our wedding anniversary. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The checking process was quick and easy and the front desk was wonderful and I love that they acknowledged and gave me my iprefer member benefits! Room was nice, clean and spacious. Very quiet and no issues with noise. Would like to have a refrigerator in the room or at least...
Had a great dining experience while visiting today. Our serving staff was amazing and made for a great dining experience. Kris was a wonderful host with the best sense of humor. Harold was a pleasure with his quick wit and easy charisma. The hot Brown was a very good dinner and we will definitely be back when we visit again
Very helpful staff, the place was absolutely beautiful. My wife and I took an unguided tour, even played a couple of games of chess. The room was spacious so was the bathroom. We were greeted promptly and also given ideas for dinner if we decided to venture off. The only downside was the bed. Felt like we sleeping on the floor. Like literally that hard.
This hotel is the perfect blend of sophisticated elegance and modern convenience. A difficult task that the Brown has achieved. From the moment i walked into the door I was captivated by its architecture and history not to mention the piano playing softly in the background. Our room was clean comfortable and well appointed. Our dinner was superb and our server Kris was excellent. The staff was warm...

Awesome location! It is one block away from great nightlife/restaurants and convenience stores. The parking was easy to deal with which is always a plus in downtown hotels and it cost $20 a day and you get in and out privileges. Lobby was clean and welcoming, staff was awesome! I love they have an option for parking either self-pay in the garage or valet, an excellent restaurant and Starbucks in the hotel and an exceptional fitness Center. The location is phenomenal; right on 4th Street. And the view of the cityscape at night is absolutely breathtaking. Would definitely stay here again.
Great rooms, clean, spacious, well laid out. Great location with plenty of places to eat and hang out within minutes walking distance. "Sway" is the in house restaurant, it's the only downside. It really is just not a great place to eat considering the other options around the hotel. 14$ omelettes and 8$ yogurts aren't where it's at...
During my check in process, Detrah was very helpful and answered all of my questions. I felt very welcomed and almost at home during my 7 day stay. Great Hotel close to Fourth Street Live. Rooms were clean and fairly large. Decent price if you ask me. Breakfast buffet was also delicious.
The hotel itself was extremely accommodating and the rooms were extremely spacious and clean. The location of the hotel itself was prime for my business teams needs (restaurants and overall night scene). I highly recommend a stay at this particular Hyatt.

selection of bourbons and the barman who served them. host larry johnson is a treasure trove of the hotel's history and a great joy to coverse with. the receptionist gave us the seelbach suite for our anniversary.
I am very glad that I stayed at this beautiful hotel. It has a lot of history going back to the early 1900’s. The room was big and decorated nicely with a comfortable bed. However the bathroom was was way too small. There was only a toilet, sink and bathtub. No countertop and hardly any room to move around. It was very difficult to function in there. Since it is an old structure I guess there is little...
We really like staying at older hotels that were built when luxury was at the forefront... This exceeded our expectations!!! It's absolutely stunning inside and the location could not be better... The rooms were okay but nothing that wowed us... Which is kind of a bummer because the the rest of the building is gorgeous but the room was pretty plain, and we booked one of the nicer rooms... None of that...
This is going to be a mixed review. We stayed here over the weekend for a wedding. Biggest con: our car was broken into while in the care of the valet service. More on this later The smallish Cons: there was no mini fridge in the room, which was a little bit of a bummer. The rooms were kind of small. There was a coffee or soda stain splattered on a wall near the baseboard in our room which was kind...
Shout out to the staff at The Seelbach! This is a really cool hotel, full of great stories, history, and charm. But it wouldn't be what it is without the amazing staff. I had a late arrival and needed dinner before restaurants closed. Dean and Carolina in valet were very helpful and accommodating. Shanetta and others at the front desk were very hospitable and took time to talk about the history of...
Overall the hotel is wonderful but the biggest issue is the air conditioning. When I arrived I set the air to 70 degrees and it stayed at 74 the entire time. It would be nice to have a mini fridge in the room but that isn't a deal breaker. They should definitely look into upgrading to window units or something to help cool these rooms off as it makes it difficult to sleep.

Need an inexpensive hotel in the area for an event I was attending. Found this gem. The room cleanliness and service not only met but EXCEEDED my expectations. The staff was pleasant and made me feel welcome. Will definitely chose this location when I am in the area in the future.
Room was good. Lots of remodeling going on so hallways were dusty and messy so if that's a problem I wouldn't stay here for awhile. Desk clerk was nice, we requested extra blankets for our son and he immediately got a couple and took to our room before we even got our luggage out of the car. Was located in a very good area. Price was good. Beds were good. Room was clean.
This place is a hole. They have no idea how to handle any event. Elevators are hidden clear on the other end from the lobby. Nothing is handicap accessible above the 1st floor. Parking is a nightmare
Went to the Home Improvement show. The facility is easy to get into and parking is easy, and it seemed appropriate for the venue. The show was not that great - had more room downtown.
This is possibly the grossest, dirtiest and smelliest place I have ever stayed. Kentucky's state prisons are probably nicer. Ramada needs to bulldoze this sh*thole and start from scratch.
Would never return! Blaring music in the courtyard kept waking me up. Kids running wild everywhere and Neanderthal men screaming day and night. Gym equipment not functional. Staff didn't really care.

Nice, Clean and quiet(interior room)! Good location with food and entertainment just steps away from front doors. Evening reception is your typical chips, dip, fresh fruit, beer, wine, and cheap liquor. Left before breakfast started at 7am on a Sun. Valet parking is $40/car $45/SUV. There is a parking garage that we did not see literally across the street down one building.

Rooms are very spacious and clean. I like the fact that house keeping does not show up every day. The only improvement is to be a bit more sustainable. I like it when hotels have the dispensers instead of having individual plastic bottles. The reception service is awesome. So kind and helpful.
In full disclosure I am a diamond member so your results may vary, but if you have status see if you can get a room on the top floor. Ceilings are very high and makes the room feel big. From the outside you may think it's an old hotel but from the lobby, to the super wide hallways on my floor, to the modern rooms it was a bit of a surprise. The made to order breakfast was great. My only knocks.......
Very modern look. Comfortable conference rooms. Excellent restaurant for complementary breakfast. Room with high ceiling, comfortable bed, and good shower. Overall excellent.

The room was really clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful to answer questions and resolve issues. My daughter said it was the nicest hotel she could remember staying in.
I first want to start out by saying that the staff is first rate! I stayed there more than 2 months. When I first got there, I checked in and it was all good. THEN I walked into my room one day and I tripped over a piece of carpet at the door. I told the front desk about it, but nothing was done while I was there. I would however recommend this hotel to my friends and family. Will be back.
One thing I missed in my room was having a list laminated with restaurants in the area with phone #'s & possibly their hours open, places of interest to see, hours that breakfast was served each day with cost (since they aren't included with the room anymore), checkout & check in times listed as well. I also didn't like the incidentals chg of $21.45 per night to my card & then have to wait 2-3 business...
Attended a convention two years in a row at this location - wonderful experience both times. Large meeting rooms were provided, which were well-lit and comfortable, and the staff was great.
Even though we stayed only one night. The hotel was very clean and enjoyable. I just wished they offered more to their guests. Also front desk people of all shift should be given the same info. When I called before arrival they said late checkout is at 2pm and that is free for members of ihg. And now that we are here, we are being told by the night staff that it is intact false information and late...

A little off the beaten path, but outstanding design touches. It just made me relax to know I was somewhere safe, where the service was excellent, and the bed was extremely comfortable. But, overall, I was so relieved to find such a nice hotel after spending...
The beds are super comfy, but the rooms are slightly outdated and need better housekeeping—lots of marks on the walls, dust in the bathroom, etc. The lobby is the star of the hotel and is absolutely beautiful, but that’s where the glamour stops. If there’s a conference, parking can become a real challenge. Although decent for one night, I would not come back here. Shocked that AAA gave this a four...
I had a great stay at the Marriott East. The cleanliness of the hotel was great from rooms to public areas. I used their meeting room space for a meeting and they had an excellent partner for audio visuals , they were very professional, customer service oriented and very proactive with our needs during our event, overall a great business experience for our group. Highly recommend.
Stayed at this Marriott a number of times during business trips to the area. The hotel has a vip lounge that can be used free of charge by Marriott loyalty program customers. It’s well stocked with snacks, throughout the day and offers great breakfasts and decent appetizer selection in the evening. The rooms are just okay. The hotel is beautiful inside and outside. The beds were so amazing I was trying to find a way to smuggle the mattress and boxsprings out to taken them home. Lol. The food was really delicious. We stay a weekend every year for a company function, and it is always clean and comfortable. Only downside was this year I left a dress behind. After several phone calls and promises I still don’t have my dress back a month later.

Decent price; could've been better considering the updates needed. Hotel looks downtrodden in several areas. This is a huge hotel and it seems out of place where it's at but it's been great. I've stay many times and will continue. The staff has been great, the rooms are big, nice and they have the best breakfast EVER! I only have one complaint but for me it's MAJOR! My husband comes to town for work and has to be up around 4:30am to be at work early. All he wants when he gets up is to be able to get ready...
Comfy firm beds, clean showers, and the breakfast bar is all I need to make my stay great and they made my stay worth it.

I had to attend a function at the Convention Center and it was extremely close and less than a 15 min walk. I found several good restaurants nearby and even walking at 8 PM in the winter when very dark out was very safe. Breakfast was a nice surprise as I had forgotten it was a benefit and they had hot eggs, sausage if you wanted a hot item as well as the usual cereal, Danish, yogurt etc. Coffee was...
I am a gold member but when I checked in my name was not used, I was not offered a water, and I sure didn’t expect to pay $15 to park my own car in the lot, my membership was not mentioned. Got to my room and the deadbolt on the door didn’t work, the sliding closet doors were broken and useless, and the toilet seat is so loose it’s falling off. The room was spotless and nice so it’s a shame to have...
People were great, breakfast was pretty good. Rooms were ok…a little old need some touch ups. Some of the a/c units were old and leaked and some of the locks on the doors need to be fixed some. But over all a great hotel in a good location.
If possible, bring your own pillow. These are very soft and have no support at all. Other than that, the rest of the hotel, including the breakfast was great. Parking prices seems kind of steep just to be able to park and stay at the hotel…
Hotel is nothing extremely fancy but it’s a great place to stay if you want to be downtown for a night or two but don’t want to spend $200-$400 a night! Room were very clean and no weird smells. They provide free tampon and pads for women who need them. It’s in walking distance of many restaurants, bars, and clubs. I don’t remember the front desk lady’s name but she was a black woman in her 20’s or...
Great service!! Easy check-in, staff always helpful & friendly. Room was clean, comfy bed, refrigerator. Indoor heated pool and full breakfast. I recommend this hotel. Great location too.

Excellent facilities, clean and decent location. Decent breakfast too. The beds in particular were incredibly comfortable.
First time passing through Louisville, I will come back to see the area and to stay here specifically. The lobby is clean and inviting, friendly service even at a later hour. The room was easy to access; also very clean and stylish. Slept great after a long day and couldn’t be happier to have stayed.
We had a good experience, although we didn't spend much time at the hotel. We dropped our stuff off before dinner and then went to the Jack O Lantern Spectacular, so we really only were there to sleep and eat breakfast. The breakfast was your typical continental breakfast, but was yummy. I would consider staying here again. The staff was all very friendly throughout our stay. My only complaint would...
I’ve travelled a ton and have stayed in a lot of hotels but I had never stayed at a Holiday Inn Express until this weekend. Might I say, I was fairly impressed. Check in was easy and the receptionist was sweet and helpful. The room was very spacious and had all the necessities. Fridge, microwave, nice bed, and nice view. The location was awesome. Easy access to the interstate. Having to use your room...
It’s peaceful, and the food’s alright. However, room I stayed in (303) smelled like feet or cheese or something. Either way, the smell was unpleasant. The towels didn’t smell totally clean, and there was some fuzz on them. I didn’t expect them to smell super aromatic or anything, but the smell was a bit off. Also, on the first night the bed made me all itchy.
We had a wonderful stay. Breakfast ample and very good. Reception Staff very friendly and helpful. Could do an easy walk to Downtown and our car was safely parked in the secure parking garage

Rooms, lobby, exterior are all updated and modern. It was clean, extremely friendly staff, quiet enough though a lot of kids here for some sort of event, but never heard them though the walls. We moved from another courtyard in town during this trip and were so happy. Indoor pool is small but nice to have. Had two adjoining rooms for my large family and it was excellent. Next to the convention center...
Great stay while visiting Churchill Downs for the weekend. About 3 miles from the track with a convenient shuttle service to and from. The property was very clean. Front desk staff was wonderful. Very friendly and accommodating. Skeeyee!
I would like to start of by saying there were three guest checking in before me and the clerk checked us in quickly and professionally. Everything was exceptionally clean and well maintained. Location was perfectly placed near our family and easy access to the highway. Looking forward to our next visit.
The staff did an amazing job of accommodating our team's stay on short notice in the middle of the night after our flight's landing changed from Lexington to Louisville.
Staff were all friendly and helpful. All facilities were clean and well cared for. My room was very clean, and quiet, (especially given the full booking).
Very nice staff, clean hotel. They were good hosts with our group stay and meetings Shuttle drivers will get you to and from the airport very quickly As of Jan 2023 they are doing some renovations but it only affects the lobby area.
