Hilton Philadelphia at Penn's Landing

I recently stayed at the Hilton Philadelphia Penn's Landing in early October, and it was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had, especially among all the Hilton hotels I've stayed as a royal Hilton Honors member. I raised multiple issues during my stay and at checkout, but despite being promised follow-up, I haven’t heard anything back. I emailed the manager (the email address was provided to me during check out) last week but didn't hear back either. Here's a summary of the major problems I encountered:

Dirty Linens: I found blood on the bed sheets, as shown in the picture attached. This was shocking and completely unacceptable in terms of cleanliness and hygiene. Since I was just by myself so I just slept in the other bed.

Privacy Violation: On Thursday morning, someone attempted to enter my room without my consent, despite the "Privacy Please" sign being displayed. Luckily, I had the lock on, but this left me feeling very unsettled.

Construction Noise: My room was right next to a construction site. The noise started early in the morning, making it impossible to sleep. I requested a room change and was promised one by Thursday, but when Thursday came, no rooms were available. The noise continued to disturb my entire stay.

Broken Hair Dryer: I reported a broken hair dryer on Thursday, and despite promises from the front desk (Mike), it was never replaced. With all those issues reported, at that point, I just didn't bother asking again. So I just used the towels to dry my hair for the last few days of my stay.

Room Cleaning: My room was only cleaned once during my 5-night stay. This is unacceptable, especially for a hotel of Hilton’s supposed standard.

Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience, and Hilton’s failure to respond to my concerns only makes it worse. I expected so much more from Hilton, but the lack of communication, cleanliness issues, and constant disturbances made my stay unpleasant. I would not recommend this hotel and will reconsider staying at Hilton properties in the future.

What a disappointment. Paid extra to have a riverside view, got the noisy, bars, trash and party goers-strewn harbor side. The window was so dirty from inside and outside that it was hard to see anything through it anyways.

Toilet did not flush on the first two tries and made a lot of noise getting (slowly) filled up again. Bathroom had no ventilation at all, so the ceiling ended up wet after a short shower and lumpy, moldy humidity stains dotted the ceiling.

Bathroom trash had not been emptied when we got there, and leftover food was found in one of the drawers.

Everything but the TV we didn't even use was old and well worn. Coffee machine stank of humidity and rotten coffee.

At least, the beds were confortable and clean. (Hence the two stars, instead of just one.)

In the end, the only good thing going for this place was the convenient location right next to the ferry. Everything else was a huge disappointment. I've seen 40$ motels that looked cleaner and newer than this hole.

I'm certainly -never- going to set foot in a Hilton again, unless I'm paid to do so. Even then, it will be reluctantly.

Avoid this place, you are better off in a cheaper hotel deeper in Philadelphia and use the money you save to get a taxi across the bridges, you'll have money to spare and a nicer place to stay.
