This hotel is very dark and the carpets need replacing. The whole hotel needs a remodel. A bit dirty and morbid looking. The cleanliness was poor to fair.

We loved the remodel of the hotel and Marin restaurant. This is in a really good location for exploring downtown Seattle and we totally enjoyed our stay. Staff was very nice and met all our needs.

This is an updated review after my previous one was removed, because the renovations are done, so keep that in mind when you book. Many negative reviews have been removed. While I understand the hotel's renovations are finished, that doesn't erase the experience my partner and I had during our stay. We were never notified that the hotel was under renovation. Upon arrival, we discovered that all amenities were closed, but we were still charged the full, regular rate. The room we were given was not only poorly updated, but we were also placed in a noisy location right by the elevators, despite the hotel being virtually empty. When we expressed our concerns and asked for a refund to find a better hotel, the staff refused, forcing us to stay and have a truly awful experience. Save yourself the trouble and your money. There are plenty of better options downtown.

We came to Seattle for a wedding and stayed at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco because we've stayed at other Kimpton Monaco's and they've been great. This was no exception. Upon arrival the hotel lobby was in the middle of some sort of remodel, but it wasn't loud, just kind of chaotic. It was resolved within a day or two. We got checked in, the folks were super nice. I got to my room and was not pleased. It was right next to the elevator, facing the main road and you had no idea where the plugs were and it was not awesome. I went downstairs to see if another room was available and they only had one other room available with a king bed (our preference) and not near an elevator. It was on the second floor so I was a little nervous, but we got into the room and it was AMAZING! We were in room 217 and it was huge. It was larger than a few studio apartments I've lived in both in Chicago and New York. The bed was incredibly comfy, the bathroom was clean and spacious. The air conditioner was outstanding. Everyone we encountered from the hotel staff was outstanding. Truly it was a great experience.

The room was nice and new, and the location was great, with lobster rolls within walking distance. The only downside was parking, which was a hassle. The hotel doesn't have a parking lot, so valet parking is available. However, because it's on the street, there's a traffic light, so it's easy to miss it. It can also be a hassle if there's too much traffic and no place to park.

I LOVE kimpton hotels and have stayed in many of them across the country. This was the first where I didn’t feel welcomed or payed attention to. Several times I had to call the front desk to remind them I needed assistance with something or to send something to my room. Several times they confirmed and hours later NOTHING. When I spoke about it they never apologized or did anything to compensate. And then when I asked for complimentary water bottles I was told to go to the gym and refill it. The staff was not attentive or caring and very non chalant. The hotel itself was nice but I would not be staying at this particular kimpton again due to poor staffing. I never felt so annoyed and frustrated at a kimpton hotel before. Please pay attention to guests and if you forget to do something having the guest call back multiple times for the same thing within a few days….apologize and make things right.

These reviews have to be fake. When I checked in the woman at the front desk was extremely rude. Did not give an F about me. Did not point out where the restaurant was, gym, lobby bathroom (since I couldn't check into my room yet), the basics. The rooms have no noise cancellation between them / the hallway. I called and asked for a clothes iron (that my room was missing) and curling iron (which a sign in the bathroom says they have) and no one came for 40 minutes.

Great location, newly renovated rooms, clean but this place under-delivers in service. Understaffed, unengaged, socially avoidant employees. Consistently no valet or valet disappearing for 20 minutes at a time, valet never at the valet stand (have to go look for someone who you think might be the valet so you can get your car), no valet system (text in advance for car, and yet valet is the ONLY parking option at the hotel. I could say very similar for front desk experience. Whichever executive oversees Guest Experience for Kimpton Monaco Seattle is seriously missing the mark. Similar hotels with same price are abundant in the area. Only book here as a last resort.

The email informed me that the hotel would make noise due to renovations. I would stay one night and leave the next day because I arrived at night, so I thought it would not have much impact, so I was not happy to change it. I didn't expect that it was not just a little renovation after I arrived, but a big fuss. There was only a small bar in the lobby, the corridor smelled like burnt wires, and the safe in the room was covered with a thick layer of dust 😡; there was nothing, not even a hair dryer! Since the room can be sold, regardless of whether it is decorated or not, at least the room cleaning and facilities should be up to standard! This is a room for 2,300 a night. 10 days later, I checked into the Seattle 1000 Hotel, which was 600 cheaper a night, and they even made a night bed and had a kettle 😂. Hilton Group is better than InterContinental Group!
