The Wanderers Hostel in Shkoder

We spent one night here our first night in Albania. The owner was great at communicating with me in South Africa before we left home and he booked all our bus and ferry tickets for the alps. He also helped us arrange a rental car. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The family room was clean and quiet. We could leave our luggage here when we went to the alps and our rental car was delivered there when we returned from theth. Great location in the center of town.

Best hostel I've ever stayed in. Hands down. The staff were amazing. Shoutout to Klaidi especially, what a legend (gave me way too much raki). They are so friendly and help you with any request possible. They gave us recommendations to eat and what to see in Shkoder, provided us breakfast in the mornings, helped us with bike rentals at the hostel and provided a lively experience every night which made meeting new people easy. The bar and common area was so cool. cheap drinks and an awesome outdoor area which had music every night (but not too loud) and offered different cuisines every night (for a price). Furthermore everything extra you purchased, beer, food, bikes, all goes on a tab which you pay at the end of your stay. Finally, the best thing about this place is the trip to the Albanian Alps that they organise. They organize everything for you, transport by bus and ferry and accommodation in both Theth and Valbonna. One of the best experiences I've had in my life. They even helped me with what hostel to stay at in Tirana. I loved the staff here they really made my trip and stay amazing. I wish them all the best.

Perfect location and extremely friendly staff, great vibe in the common area with hammocks, places to chill and a bar. The staff helped us sort everything for our tour and were very helpful, even on the way back to Tirana. We'd definitely recommend staying here.

A brilliant hostel in a central location of the town, main building is lovely courtyard area with a cheap bar, free tea and coffee (and rakija) and lots of space. Breakfast was a basic but nice buffet, and buffet dinners are also available for a couple of euros. Staff were incredible helpful and patient with lots of trips all organised through the hostel. We had to cancel Valbona-Theth hike due to bad weather but staff were very helpful in changing plans last minute, and we still got to go to Shala River and Theth, and explore the town on their recommendations. Rooms are in separate buildings, with key cards and lockers, decent showers, and area to relax. Beds are nice, with privacy curtains and plugs.

Above and beyond service. I rented a bike and got a flat tire. They came out to where I had parked it and replaced it with a new bike — all while I was able to continue sightseeing. I can’t recommend this hostel enough.

Do note that even if you have a private room, it is fairly exposed to street noise.

Great social vibe and great volunteers! I like how the social terrace is isolated from the dorms, so it’s easy to choose to either sing karaoke or have a quiet sleep. Lovely big breakfast. They helped us organize an amazing trip to Theth. Thank you!

The best hostel in Albania. I definitely recommend you this hostel. Everyday party, you can full your stomach with only 2 euros. Also there is one more building just for sleeping. So you can sleep well without noise
