Centrally located- no frills Hotel is as advertised, in need of renovation but we always had the pool to ourselves and apartment was very spacious. So if you are on a budget and after a no frills place to stay in central Cairns I highly recommend.
Late check in worked well. Good location. Only problem we had was the washer tripped the breaker, but we weren't expecting a washer in the first place.
The location is great, very close to the port and everywhere. There is a Woolworth supermarket opposite, but after all, it is an apartment with limited facilities. The advantage is that the room is large enough~
Property is very tired. Pool dirty and bbq unusable. Furnishings old and cushions need a wash. Although area is a bit seedy the apartments are well situated to be close to everything. Staff were good.
Good Stay in Cairns This place was pretty good. It was conveniently located near everything in Cairns. It was right accross the street from a grocery store which was helpful. There were lots of eateries around and about a 7 to 8 minute walk to the Esplanade lagoon and pier. We liked that the place was very spacious. The room was a little old but not that bad. The bedroom was a little small and I...

Liked the provision of cooking facilities; quiet, walkable distance from esplanade; markets, short distance to Cairns Central, close eating outlets; pleasant people in reception airconditioner in room needs to be checked; had difficulty turning the TV on and off.
Propeety was good close to enough of the Cairns shops etc near to aquarium rooms although tidy could fo with a spruce but all in an enjoyable stay.thanks to owners and the boss dusty
Cascade Gardens is a lovely spot to spend some time in Cairns. Sam at reception is an absolute gem! Very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend it
The studio was large and clean, we liked the security screens on the patio door and window so we could leave them open and get fresh air. the only problem was there was a smoker in a lower room and we could smell smoke when they lit one up on their patio
Pros: large unit with outdoor area. 2 TVs. All the necessary for cooking. Pool area is relaxing and beautiful. Lots of space to park. Staff is super friendly and helpful and their pets are the best! Easy walk to Lagoon area and minutes away from the Esplanade. Super quiet - didn’t hear any noise from outside, hallway, or other units. Cons: Dated unit. AC wasn’t the best, so the room smelled damp....
Very close to CBD, easy to walk to tourist friendly markets, dining, entertainment & the cairns Esplanade. Kitchenette & room were also great size..

The communal spaces and our bedroom were tidy, clean and comfortable. Cosy backpackers with friendly staff and not noisy. We had a mix up with our card being charged twice but the staff quickly fixed the problem.
Absolutely loving this place! Paul, the owner, is very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The bathroom and toilet is impeccable. It’s quiet and there’s a chill atmosphere; way better than some other, louder backpacker hostels. There’s also multiple kitchens with more than enough equipment. I would 100% stay again! note you have to pay with a $1 coin to run the AC for about...
Such a lovely place. I stayed in Cairns way longer than I thought I would just because I loved the hostel so much. It’s such a vibe and Paul and Tim (the team) are wonderful! I met lots of nice people here :) I hope to come back soon.
Beautiful hostel, from far the best in Cairns. Tim and Paul are really nice and make you feel like home. Everything is always clean, pool well looked after and kitchen well equipped. We are always staying when we are in Cairns!
The best hostel to stay at if you like a chill vibe, great atmosphere and friendly people. Absolutely loved our stay here, super clean and welcoming. Would definitely stay again!
Dreamtime Travellers Rest is located in proximity to Cairns City Centre, making it easy to go out and reach everything. The rooms are quite spacious and are equipped with fans. The property also has a little pool, and lots of comfortable resting areas that are accessible to all guests. As it’s super warm in Cairns, it would have been even nicer if the air conditioning could be used free of charge...

Mixed Experience – Great Location, Poor Internet & Breakfast Setup The hotel is in a great location, and the room itself was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Facilities like the car park and lifts were well maintained and met expectations. However, as business travellers, the internet connection was a major letdown. The hotel appears to rely on a hotspot system, which was extremely unreliable—slow...
Pretty ideal location, good coffee and breakfast. I'm happy.
11-14/5/25 3 nights $768 inc breakfast room 701. I try to be objective when writing reviews but when offered something and not getting what you pay for really makes it hard and sometimes it’s only the little things that start the spiral. I suppose I shouldn’t have left booking too late only to be left with mediocre accommodation. It first started at checkin, mind you the girl on duty was doing her...
Stayed in a 1 bed apartment. Was nice and spacious, and relatively clean. We had a room with "mountain views", which also includes the main road (3 lanes of traffic both ways) which was very noisy throughout the day and night. Needed to ask separately for kitchen supplies, but were easy to get. It's a long walk from the city centre and not the safest feeling at night, so wouldn't recommend if you don...
The room is very large and well-equipped. The front desk is very friendly and can store luggage. It is clean and sanitary overall. There is even a kitchenette and microwave, which is very good.
Enjoyed our stay very much. Room was very nice. bathroom was average, didn’t have much ventilation, but the shower had great water pressure. Pool and spa area was quiet which was a perk. Staff were pleasant, coffee was nice and the $15 buffet breakfast was great!!

Property was close to where we wanted to be. Beds were clean and fresh. Some maintenance issues in both rooms - ceiling fans were either like cyclones or hardly moving, only one bedside lamp was working in one of the rooms. Some attention to detail re cleaning was needed - old soap left behind, dirty cup in sink.
The Staff workers was very helpful and friendly, lovely accommodation would like to stay there again. Thankyou Andrew & Wife 👍
Lovely little place to stay for our very short visit. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Very affordable. Will be staying again on our next visit.
We travelled as 3 adults, 3 children. We panicked when we first got to the place it looked rough. We went to reception to find it unattended but within moments of calling the provided number we were greeted by a nice lady who appeared to live there. The place e enjoyed the place to ourselves. The room was clean and spacious. Very quiet location. Pool and entertainment area well maintained, relaxing and tranquil. Will definitely stay again.
During my stay at the very affordable Cairns Gateway Resort from mid March to mid May I stayed in a relatively large airconditioned (box type) studio room that fully satisfied my needs. The room and good size bathroom were clean and had a fresh smell. Although the resort is located near the Bruce highway the room was very quiet, ensuring a good nights sleep. The king size bed was very comfortable....
Amazing. We flew in about midnight. Got our key from the after hours safe. Easy process. The rooms great. The staff are awesome. The place is very clean and tidy. Great location. Very affordable
Gateway Cairns is a cheap little place to stay 10 minutes from the centre of town. Pool area is very nice, BBQ area no place to wash up and nothing to clean the BBQ must bring your own and no utensils for use. Little kitchen enough space for breakfast and lite lunches. Friendly and helpful staff Would stay again
Enjoyed my time at Gateway as it caters to the whole family.
It's cheap. 200 average rate power included. What you make it. The managers Ian and Mary Anne are good people. Just pay you rent and don't make them upset. Fair and do what's right when needed..

Great location, easy to access and the staff were very friendly and helpful. An easy waly to the local amenities and the restaurants along the Esplanade. The room was spacious and a nice place to stay Great secure carparking with easy access.
I'm very happy for the stay of 3 nights, a very nice, clean, continent and secure place. I'd like to give them 6 stars for their service if I could. Special thanks to Amy and manager for solving the problem resulted from my mistake of booking. I'll strongly recommend my friends to stay here when they visit Cairns.
First class accommodation. I don't even look anywhere else when going to Cairns. These apartments are well equipped and have such a good layout/configuration for families or groups. The location is also second to none.
Rooms were nice and clean. We had a 2 room apartment for our family of four. They could use some updating, but it was fine and safe. Location is excellent.
Met by an unimpressive entrance and a small reception area you get the impression of an older style hotel. The corridors leading to the rooms continues this impression. Then you open the door and are met by a lovely spacious quality room with everything you could need. The bedroom is impressive leading out to the large balcony. The lounge and kitchen (with washing machine and dryer) is really comfortable...
A very comfortable apartment meeting all our needs. Clean, well equipped and very convenient to local attractions, restaurants and cafes. Friendly helpful staff and service. One of the nicest places I have ever stayed.

Spacious room, very comfortable bed with ceiling fan and nice cold AC. Lovely lady who serviced us. Parking available and good, central location. We had a good stay :)
I felt that it was a very good point that there was a railroad crossing of the Kuranda Railway nearby and I could see the train up close. Also, there is a convenience store nearby, so I don't think you will have any trouble living.
The receptionists were very nice, kind and polite. There was a pool in the middle of the hotel, and it was nice to be able to spend time watching the children having fun.
We booked this on the night of arrival. The office was closed, but the owner was very quick to respond. He gave us a late checkout, which was very welcome after a trying days travel. Good, comfortable sleep, and after checkout we were able to leave our luggage there. There is a noisy exhaust fan in the bathroom, and the room needs some maintenance, but overall a good place to stay.
Friendly staff, great room for a great price. Will book again.

Sally was so friendly and prompt in her communication, it made my stay that much more special. She gave some great recommendations on what to do during my stay. I loved my room - it was spacious, clean and decorated in Balinese style. The location is good, walkable distance to the city center and the complementary breakfast was a bonus touch. All in all, a very comfy stay.
We loved it! Stayed three nights in one room and two nights in another. The rooms were very clean, with lovely sheets and good aircon. Continental breakfast included fruit, muesli and raisin toast - my favorites. It was quiet and there is a pool. Great value for money and staff were very helpful :)
Not expensive motel at nice place near to Cairns Esplanade. Room was spacious with good equipment as air-conditioning, flat TV, refrigerator, etc. Bathroom is also pretty big. Problem is that you can hear nearly everything around you. Every step on staircase, all sound from dinning place. Also included breakfast was not traditional continental but very small.

We stayed originally 2 nights in an Ensuite cabin at this holiday park and enjoyed it so much we extended another day. Room is clean and well equipped, staff friendly, no complaints at all! Great location as close to Cairns! Would recommend and definitely stay again if in the area next time!
Fantastic caravan park, clean amenities, grass and gardens are kept clean and pristine, great service by the staff and helpful, very secure and safe environment. Will be back thank you for a great stay.
We loved this place it was great to stay in, the cabins had everything we needed the service was friendly and the staff around the park were great as well. It was close to everything and easy to get in and out of. Facilities were neat and clean we used the BBQ area with our friends that were camping, was so clean.
Park fine. Amenities old but clean. Noise from the main road at night can be heard particularly when sirens go past which is very often - not that the park can do anything about this but just be warned WiFi was not stable in the location we camped so don’t rely on using it. Room for motor homes $62 for 2 adults & 2 kids per night with power and water Staff lovely and very helpful with discounts...
This van park lovely. Handy too. Only fault is every morning the cleaner/ owner ? moves books & mags out of laundry & throws away ( or gives away). So a few people hoping to swap books but couldnt. I ended up swapping with another lady.

Beautiful accommodation!! Clean and comfortable hotel room size, for the price I paid. Great location and close to everything. Front desk staff was friendly and gave us an upgrade for free because it was out anniversary. I have been Crystalbrook client since the day they opened in Cairns. Flynn has to be the best out of the 3 sibling hotel.
Outstanding. Beautiful room with lovely views. Central location handy to shops and attractions. Check in, check out was easy. Comfortable bed with softest sheets. Nice amenities. Service was good, thought I'd lost some property and felt cared for. Went to Flynn's Italian and sorted the hunger with the prawn linguine, yum. Bonus, being served by Italian waiters 😀
Had a great time! Such a trendy and cool place. Has a great vibe, lovely thought out zones throughout the whole hotel and the hotel room. Would definitely recommend and I’d want to stay here again! Location? Couldn’t get any better if you had unlimited options! Service? Amazing!
We recently had an amazing stay at Flynn. We were notified a few hours prior to check in that the room we had booked was no longer available (maintenance issues) and we were quite disappointed, however, we were so looked after by the lovely Grace at the front desk. Pretty amazing stay with enough space for a family and good amenities. Located at a pretty good location in Cairns Central. The cherry on the topping is the staff there. Very helpful and sweet.
Very good placement, room was okay. The receptionist that checked us out was nice, but the one checking us in was no help. Could not answer questions about parking, and failed to mention that you needed to rent cutlery. On the kitchen it said it was open from 8 am- 7 pm, or something and the receptionist said it might be open 24/7 but that helps little when you need breakfast earlier and are not sure

Quiet Caravan Park not so far from Cairns. All facilities are good maintained, friendly staff. A perfect place for vacation in caravan.
Really nice and clean park. Love the serenity of this park next to mountain and rainforest. You will wake up with birds chirping and cockatoo squawking. BBQ / camping and swimming area are well maintained. Rooms are really tidy and spacious.
This is a fantastic park! It's neat, tidy, has fantastic amenities and is in a super quiet location. The pool is a good size and kept the kids occupied for hours. The playground is OK but the kids tended to just want to be in the pool. We will come back here in the future.

The room size is relatively large, a bit small and old, and it is relatively close to the airport. health conditions can also. Its restaurant serves Thai food. I ate it once for dinner, so you can give it a try.
Not a bad spot but there are better options in town. The front staff is nice but you can wait up to half an hour because there is one staff member for the desk for a fairly large hotel. Very satisfied! It takes 15 minutes to drive from the airport to where I live. The surrounding area is very quiet. I can hear the sound of the waves when I sleep at night. I can see the sea when I open the window during the day.
Nice big balcony, pool-spa great. Easy parking. Friendly staff
The place was beautiful as it had an amazing garden which had a plethora of plant life that added to the peaceful atmosphere. The pool was clean and well maintained. The beach was opposite the property which was convenient. The room furnishing was old and the bathroom could use an upgrade. We stayed in the premium garden facing room.
