Centrally located- no frills Hotel is as advertised, in need of renovation but we always had the pool to ourselves and apartment was very spacious. So if you are on a budget and after a no frills place to stay in central Cairns I highly recommend.

Late check in worked well. Good location. Only problem we had was the washer tripped the breaker, but we weren't expecting a washer in the first place.

The location is great, very close to the port and everywhere. There is a Woolworth supermarket opposite, but after all, it is an apartment with limited facilities. The advantage is that the room is large enough~

Property is very tired. Pool dirty and bbq unusable. Furnishings old and cushions need a wash. Although area is a bit seedy the apartments are well situated to be close to everything. Staff were good.

Liked the provision of cooking facilities; quiet, walkable distance from esplanade; markets, short distance to Cairns Central, close eating outlets; pleasant people in reception airconditioner in room needs to be checked; had difficulty turning the TV on and off.

Propeety was good close to enough of the Cairns shops etc near to aquarium rooms although tidy could fo with a spruce but all in an enjoyable stay.thanks to owners and the boss dusty

Cascade Gardens is a lovely spot to spend some time in Cairns. Sam at reception is an absolute gem! Very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend it

The studio was large and clean, we liked the security screens on the patio door and window so we could leave them open and get fresh air. the only problem was there was a smoker in a lower room and we could smell smoke when they lit one up on their patio

Pros: large unit with outdoor area. 2 TVs. All the necessary for cooking. Pool area is relaxing and beautiful. Lots of space to park. Staff is super friendly and helpful and their pets are the best! Very close to CBD, easy to walk to tourist friendly markets, dining, entertainment & the cairns Esplanade. Kitchenette & room were also great size..

The communal spaces and our bedroom were tidy, clean and comfortable. Cosy backpackers with friendly staff and not noisy. We had a mix up with our card being charged twice but the staff quickly fixed the problem.

Such a lovely place. I stayed in Cairns way longer than I thought I would just because I loved the hostel so much. It’s such a vibe and Paul and Tim (the team) are wonderful! I met lots of nice people here :) I hope to come back soon.

Stayed in a 1 bed apartment. Was nice and spacious, and relatively clean. We had a room with "mountain views", which also includes the main road (3 lanes of traffic both ways) which was very noisy throughout the day and night. The room is very large and well-equipped. The front desk is very friendly and can store luggage. It is clean and sanitary overall. There is even a kitchenette and microwave, which is very good.

Enjoyed our stay very much. Room was very nice. bathroom was average, didn’t have much ventilation, but the shower had great water pressure. Pool and spa area was quiet which was a perk. Staff were pleasant, coffee was nice and the $15 buffet breakfast was great!!

Property was close to where we wanted to be. Beds were clean and fresh. Some maintenance issues in both rooms - ceiling fans were either like cyclones or hardly moving, only one bedside lamp was working in one of the rooms.Some attention to detail re cleaning was needed - old soap left behind, dirty cup in sink.

During my stay at the very affordable Cairns Gateway Resort from mid March to mid May I stayed in a relatively large airconditioned (box type) studio room that fully satisfied my needs. The room and good size bathroom were clean and had a fresh smell. Although the resort is located near the Bruce highway the room was very quiet, ensuring a good nights sleep. Gateway Cairns is a cheap little place to stay 10 minutes from the centre of town. Pool area is very nice, BBQ area no place to wash up and nothing to clean the BBQ must bring your own and no utensils for use. Little kitchen enough space for breakfast and lite lunches. First class accommodation. I don't even look anywhere else when going to Cairns. These apartments are well equipped and have such a good layout/configuration for families or groups. The location is also second to none.

Rooms were nice and clean. We had a 2 room apartment for our family of four. They could use some updating, but it was fine and safe. Location is excellent.

Met by an unimpressive entrance and a small reception area you get the impression of an older style hotel. The corridors leading to the rooms continues this impression. I felt that it was a very good point that there was a railroad crossing of the Kuranda Railway nearby and I could see the train up close. Also, there is a convenience store nearby, so I don't think you will have any trouble living.

The receptionists were very nice, kind and polite. There was a pool in the middle of the hotel, and it was nice to be able to spend time watching the children having fun.

We booked this on the night of arrival. The office was closed, but the owner was very quick to respond. He gave us a late checkout, which was very welcome after a trying days travel. Good, comfortable sleep, and after checkout we were able to leave our luggage there. There is a noisy exhaust fan in the bathroom, and the room needs some maintenance, but overall a good place to stay.

Sally was so friendly and prompt in her communication, it made my stay that much more special. She gave some great recommendations on what to do during my stay. I loved my room - it was spacious, clean and decorated in Balinese style. The location is good, walkable distance to the city center and the complementary breakfast was a bonus touch. All in all, a very comfy stay.

We loved it! Stayed three nights in one room and two nights in another. The rooms were very clean, with lovely sheets and good aircon. Continental breakfast included fruit, muesli and raisin toast - my favorites. It was quiet and there is a pool. Great value for money and staff were very helpful :)

Not expensive motel at nice place near to Cairns Esplanade. Room was spacious with good equipment as air-conditioning, flat TV, refrigerator, etc. Bathroom is also pretty big. Problem is that you can hear nearly everything around you. Every step on staircase, all sound from dinning place. Also included breakfast was not traditional continental but very small.

We stayed originally 2 nights in an Ensuite cabin at this holiday park and enjoyed it so much we extended another day. Room is clean and well equipped, staff friendly, no complaints at all! Great location as close to Cairns! Would recommend and definitely stay again if in the area next time!

We loved this place it was great to stay in, the cabins had everything we needed the service was friendly and the staff around the park were great as well. It was close to everything and easy to get in and out of. Facilities were neat and clean we used the BBQ area with our friends that were camping, was so clean.

Park fine. Amenities old but clean. Noise from the main road at night can be heard particularly when sirens go past which is very often - not that the park can do anything about this but just be warned WiFi was not stable in the location we camped so don’t rely on using it. Very good placement, room was okay. The receptionist that checked us out was nice, but the one checking us in was no help. Could not answer questions about parking, and failed to mention that you needed to rent cutlery. On the kitchen it said it was open from 8 am- 7 pm, or something and the receptionist said it might be open 24/7 but that helps little when you need breakfast earlier and are not sure

This is a fantastic park! It's neat, tidy, has fantastic amenities and is in a super quiet location. The pool is a good size and kept the kids occupied for hours. The playground is OK but the kids tended to just want to be in the pool. We will come back here in the future.

We stayed just for our first night in Cairns at the Red Sparrow. The hosts Colin and Christine were both really nice and so flexible. They let us check in early and even dropped us with our luggage to our next accommodation! Bed was extremely comfortable and all facilities were available. Would highly recommend.

The room size is relatively large, a bit small and old, and it is relatively close to the airport. health conditions can also. Its restaurant serves Thai food. I ate it once for dinner, so you can give it a try.

People can be precious. It's cheap, clean, quiet, friendly and convenient. Close to foreshore and all the takeaway you could need on the highway 200m away. As good as you could ask for a work traveller.

Cairns Beach resort is a try hidden paradise, away from other sites, peaceful , conveniently located near the beach and close to Cairns and grounds and gardens beautifully maintained. Lovely pool area with BBQ facility. Has ample parking

Very satisfied! It takes 15 minutes to drive from the airport to where I live. The surrounding area is very quiet. I can hear the sound of the waves when I sleep at night. I can see the sea when I open the window during the day.

The place was beautiful as it had an amazing garden which had a plethora of plant life that added to the peaceful atmosphere. The pool was clean and well maintained. The beach was opposite the property which was convenient. The room furnishing was old and the bathroom could use an upgrade. We stayed in the premium garden facing room. But overall it was a good stay.

It's a little far from Cairns Central, about a 30 minute walk, but it's nice because you can walk along the waterfront. There is no elevator, so it's difficult if you have a lot of luggage.

Easy to get to from the airport. Room had good facilities and plenty of room. However smelt when we first arrived, although we got use to it. Staff were friendly.

Great place to stay. We were a bit worried after reading the reviews mentioning dust and mould as our son is very allergic to both. We emailed the hotel and they reassured us that the room would be very clean. We were allocated a very nice spacious ground floor room by the reception area and it was very clean with no sign of dust or mould. The receptionist was very nice and the drive to the airport...

The room is quite big, but it is on the second floor, on the street side, and you can't see the sea view. The sanitation seems to be just changing the bath towels and throwing away some garbage. Overall it's not bad.
