Very clean establishment in a perfect location. The rooms are modern and elegant with every customer’s need attended too. The hotel is up to speed with a modern day directory using QR codes and lights as opposed to books and tags. The gym and sauna is impressive for a hotel. Will be back!

The hotel is in a convenient location, the front desk staff is superb and friendly. I loved the outside entrance and the lobby and the rooms are a generous size. This is a lovely hotel but it just missed 5 stars in my mind because the sheets are slightly rough and the pillows are too thick. Also the breakfast buffet, although huge, is not quite excellent and the music is much too loud for me.

Staff are lovely in all areas of the hotel especially reception and house keepers. Negative is towels provided at pool too short for sun lounges had to use 3 to cover which is a waste. Pool doesn’t have outdoor shower which is a little unhygienic. Coco's restaurant has a very limited menu and what I did order was terrible, over all food at hotel could be better. Hotel was really nice seems to be in a fairly good location to access the lagoon and boats directly across the road from the casino if that's your thing. Food was really good couldn't complain. Staff were really friendly very easy going and accommodating. Rooms are very well appointed. Only thing I could fault was no extractor fan in the bathroom so kept steaming up

An older refurbished hotel always has more space in its rooms and this is no exception. Coupled with great service, beautiful views and facilities this is a really great choice......... The background poolside and bar music though are stupendously bad!! I would rather eat my own hair than listen to it! Please, turn it off for ever!

Amazing stay at the Cairns Colonial Resort. Will definitely be returning when I came to Cairns again! I booked one of the newly renovated superior rooms. So spacious and clean. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The only downside was the distance from the city, but for the cost for the week we were happy to pay for two car rides a day :)

We were lucky enough to get a refurbished room. Good beds. Air conditioner could do with a thorough cleaning. Room key didnt work. But overall, a lovely room. We went to the Novotel for the children's birthday party by the pool. We had such a good time. We took advantage of the the bar by the pool, they made a great cosmopolitan, cocktail prices are a bit rich. The pool is a decent size with sand. Kids pool too. Definitely great place to book parties. I'm keeping this in mind.

Amazing customer service. We arrived at 5pm after a full day of snorkelling out on the reef. The lady at the counter welcomed us and had noticed we booked a room with only 1 king bed. She kindly asked if that was an accident and then upgraded us to a room with two king beds. She then informed us on the buffet breakfast and mentioned it would be cheaper for us to book the night prior. (love a good bargain...

Good sized room. Good location. Buffet breakfast was good on the days we ate at the hotel for convenience. The pool area can get very busy. The water temperature was quite cold. We didn't use the swim up bar, purely bcs the water was too cold. Caters too everyone, business, vacation, family friendly. Good coffees. Would definitely stay here again and bring the family next time.

Amazing room for 2 people in wheelchairs. Staff both in front of house, restaurant and housekeeping were all amazing. All of them did everything they could to make our holiday really awesome. Very good hotel and just far enough away from the main eating area in town for a nice walk back, but not too far, after dinner. We had a great 'ocean view' room overlooking the water, DO NOT TAKE ONE OF THESE ROOMS! They are directly above the bars and nightclubs and you won't be getting too much sleep. Also directly opposite these rooms is the heliport, you won't be getting any sleep-ins in the morning...

Great view and lovely spacious room. There was no room service for food or drinks. Good breakfast selection. Only negative was that you had to go down to the foyer to collect food for the minibar.

We had a brilliant experience with the Shangri-la. It's been 1 year since we've been back and the morning breakfast offering has certainly improved. Despite our late-night arrival, Jack, the waiter, displayed exceptional kindness, and the check-in process was efficiently handled. The hotel's central location proves to be highly advantageous, but it is worth mentioning that the lighting in the room was somewhat dim. Regrettably, the absence of toiletries was a minor inconvenience.

Comfortable enough room but Wifi is unusably slow and big lump In the old bed. Fair welcome and friendly approach. They have the dinner only pre defined menu which you can access via QR code they supplied. But you can order only up to 2000. And the breakfast served in the restaurant which you can find average selection which was good by the quality. Checking out was smooth and overall stay was comfortable.

We were unlucky enough to be in Cairns during the flooding caused by Cyclone Jasper. The wonderful staff were so accomodating. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. Location is great. Thank you. We will be back.

Stayed here for my birthday and it was fantastic. I knew my flight was going to get me there too early for check-in but was going to see if they could hold my bags until ready. Right on the Esplanade. Good walking distance to the Lagoon (about a mile). However there is a van service to downtown (stop at Night Market) for those who don’t want to walk.

What an amazing BIG4 park! The staff are friendly and helpful. So much for the kids and adults to do. Immaculately kept grounds and facilities. A big shout out to the lovely Carla for her wonderful enthusiasm instructing the water aerobics lessons. We always came out of the pool smiling! We enjoyed our family reunion at Cairns Coconut. I highly recommend this park.

Great kid friendly park with many activities and multiple pools to keep them occupied throughout our stay. Those looking for a small, quiet relaxing park to setup would be advised it’s possibly not for you ! No fault of the parks but it’s a shame some parents think it’s a holiday for them whilst forgetting to be a responsible parent and supervising their children.

Great facilities for the kids - pools, water slides, playgrounds, all fun and well maintained. Hardly needed to leave the caravan park but buses were right out front and it was so easy on the couple of occasions we did leave. Grocery shops within walking distance. This hotel is in the heart of the city. Super close to restaurants, bars, the lagoon and the boat marine; where all Great Barrier Reef tours start. Hotel Cairns is walking distance to everything in town.

Great location, the grounds and exterior are lovely and over all it's clean and well kept. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms show signs of recent attempts of bringing up to date but lack character and warmth with bare hard tiled floors and a cold sterile feel. A few ornaments, coloured cushions and a nice warm rug on the floors would make the world of difference.

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst touring around Cairns, this is a great hotel, air conditioned rooms, and waiting area. Very friendly check in staff and the maid. Good hotel with pool. Far enough away from the centre of town which was loud but close enough to walk. Rooms neat and tidy. Not much noise insulation between floors and rooms and despite notices about keeping "quiet time" between 10pm and 8am some guests were very noisy but, other than that, quite nice 2 night stay. Stayed here recently for 2 nights. Comfortable room, clean and well serviced. Breakfast is available plus nice pool and BBQ area . Located not far from the city centre. Good price, under $200.00 a night. Limited parking available but plenty of street parking.

Basic clean rooms. No lifts to higher floors but we were able to be accommodated on the ground floor. Good for a weekend away at the beach. I was travelling for work and it did not really suit my needs. Some noise and bright lights - curtains not sufficient to block this. Staff were lovely

I recently stayed at the White Rock Leisure Park and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The park itself is very well kept and has a variety of activities available, making it a great destination for families. Quiet place, good prices (we stayed in a family cabin) but air-conditioning wasn't working in one side of cabin, lady at desk said it was new ( it was quite old) so had to leave adjoining door open so other a/c unit could cool both rooms, wasn't ideal and didn't cool well (stayed over Xmas so was hot). Could be a really nice place if the cleaned up some of the residents sites, old buses falling apart...

Male only cabins that have no toilet and it's very expensive at over$200 per week. No refunds at all. Very disappointed.

This is certainly not the most beautiful hotel in the world. However, if you are coming to town to enjoy the city or go out diving this is a low-cost place to do it. Staff were very friendly, breakfast was included and wifi was free. Most importantly, the location is ideal for anything in the area. You are a couple minute walk to the ocean and there are stores and restaurants in every direction.

We stayed just for our first night in Cairns at the Red Sparrow. The hosts Colin and Christine were both really nice and so flexible. They let us check in early and even dropped us with our luggage to our next accommodation! Bed was extremely comfortable and all facilities were available. Would highly recommend.

I have stayed at 201 Lake St again and again, for a number of years now, and can not recommend them highly enough. Staff are always happy, friendly and more than accommodating. Staff were super accommodating with the request for rooms to be close together. Location of hotel was great, Pool was super fun and the restaurant had beautiful food and a delicious buffet breakfast.

We stayed for 5 nights and the Mercure Hotel is awesome. Located 5 minutes walk from Cairns CBD, close to everything. Rooms are very clean, and newly renovated. Staff are very helpful, friendly and always smiling. We will be staying here again and l can recommend this hotel.

We have been staying here in a family room on a weekly basis for weeks now. They have been so helpful and accommodating towards an elderly lady with health issues and mobility limitations, even giving us the same room each time and allowing earlier check ins or later check outs as the need may be. This hotel is a budget hotel. We were booked in for xmas day. I booked two rooms with spas. Because of renovations they were not available. We were given two small rooms. My air-conditioner did not work so was immediately given another room. The staff were very accommodating gave us a discount and bottle of wine. The ladies were very friendly, apologetic, and helpful. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good location for walking to all the local hot spots. Well equipped kitchenette, only thing missing was a stove (for obvious reasons). Recently updated and modernized. We had a family of five and had plenty of space to spread out. One drawback though…one room had a slop and all the beds are on wheels that don’t lock. One of the beds had to be “braced” as not to roll...

Good for a 1 or 2 night stay. In a location which is sort of out of the city but you can commute using buses as they are cheap. However, have extremely helpful staff and prompt service.

It was right next to Cairns Aquarium and Cairn Performing Arts Center, and only a couple of blocks from the Esplanade. The bed was comfortable and the room was cute and well arranged. The hotel was very clean. All of the staff I interacted with were very friendly, helpful and professional.

Brilliant little motel that is clean, neat and comfortable. I stayed here for two weeks and was really taken a back by the quality of service. There has been a lot of effort put into revamping the place which means that it will be even better the next time I come back. Highly recommend as an affordable place to stay in Cairns. We will be coming back!!!
