Ramada Encore Belconnen Canberra

Great location! Unfortunately the staff member who served us was unpleasant. At check-in, he told us we had not paid for the room yet. My partner ley him know it was psyed for already on the app by third party. Instead of admitting the mistake, he claimed he had just charged us on the credit card on file. We both knew this was false information as this card, in particular, was having issues that day, on the banks end.

The first room we checked into smelt musky, and the shower had no water pressure. We called reception. The staff member came and checked the issue. We moved to another room. It was slightly better and no musky smell.

The bed was uncomfortable. Both my partner and I were uncomfortable and using pillows for our backs. The overall appearance of the room was available. Even with the shower working, the bathroom amenities were average. Shampoo and conditioner are almost empty on arrival.

I won't stay here again in a hurry for the price. Better service and comfort in a 3-star hotel nearby.

Stayed here after being dischaged from hospital as this is one of the closer hotels to Calvary Hodpital Stayed the night after myself abd my husband were released (presume beds were full) and while my newborn son was still stuck in special care unit at Calvary and I was required to make feeding trips ever 3 hours to care for him. Unfortunately staff were far from understanding as nether of us drove so we needed a place with simple inexpensive Uber access between it and maternity. the following day while we were had been kind enough to offer my husband abd I leave our Bags at this hotel despite no longer staying there and told us we were welcome to come collect the them at any time. ANY TIME! After finishing at the hospital and finding alternative accomodation we called Ramada Encore to say we would be swinging past to collect our bags which included stuff for out newborn, thank them for holding them, and all the other pleasantries. Instead we were told over the phone we would not be able to get out things until the following day when the other manger came back and unlocked them from key. Due to there being zero commivstiin between duty staff and non communication from snipe st the hotel to my partner ot myself it has meant important stuff we packed for the birth was tapped in The hotel where we weren’t staying. We couldn’t even find out where just to provide a bit of a sense of security and knowing things were stowed away safely, just got told that yu can get ur stuffs tomorrow. Given the stress of just having had a premature baby, being able to at lease know his stuff was there if we needed and that we could easily collect our belongings to go home as a family the next day. Unfortunately this was not the case. Oh, abd I didn’t mention the attitudes of the duty manager. A staff members whos first I stinc on seeing the two of ideas to run away. A man who clearly despises being around people despite seeking out a job in hospitalities . He was condescending , stubborn , obsolete, arrogant, it appeared to pleas him that he was not able to provide help and he most definitely did not go to any effort for a second. Or suggest they may be able to do anything in any way at all that may assist.

I would not recommend for a second that lanyone stay here even if there were no other options anywhere else and your soul depended on it.

I would not recommend unless you are looking for a cheap last minute option. An old looking hotel, that sits on a highway. The house-keepers do a good job of cleaning though. The restaurant is closed due to COVID, understandable but they do not make this clear on the website or on hotel booking sites. They have a coffee machine at reception with no instructions. As part of our booking we were told we would receive a bottle of red wine on arrival. We had to ask for it, and we were told they had run out. The person at reception said they could give it to us the next day. We never received it.

My family stayed here in late December of 2022, my brother and I who were sharing a room kept one suit and one dress for a funeral we were attending. During all the rush of leaving early the next morning, I left my dress in the closet. The same day of checkout we called the office and explained we left it in the closet, and said they would follow up with housekeeping the next day, no follow up ever accrued and by the next day it was not recovered. Super disappointed and my family and I will not be returning here!
