Hyatt Hotel Canberra - a Park Hyatt, Canberra1 / 38High rating
9.1
Canberra, 120 Commonwealth Avenue 🧭 Map
I have stayed at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra numerous times and this hotel never disappoints. The hotel has a historic charm to it and it never gets old
We like the hotel and it met our expectations. Highly recommended
A great stay in the Nation’s Capital. A place full of history and heritage. Loved the rooms, which had a very comfortable size and breakfast had a very good selection of diverse meals
Had 2 other rooms on a different booking, and they managed to allocate rooms side by side. By far the best hotel I have ever stayed in!
Service was good at this property. Food in this hotel was exceptionally good
Hotel parking was AUD30 in their underground carpark. They recommended for us to park on the street parking. Paid parking for daytime from 8. Popular landmarks of Canberra was within minutes drive from the hotel

Went to the restaurant for dinner Tuesday 17 January and had the best service from Sarah. Not only was she upbeat and welcoming, she worked spectacularly with the other floor and wait staff
Very nice room with a view of the lake, good amenities (dyson hairdryer was appreciated), and really nice quality shower products. Great location, only a 10 minute walk to Canberra centre and good restaurants
We were fortunate enough to have the Fathers day brunch this year and oh boy it did not disappoint. Bubbles on arrival, a wide selection of beers for the men in our lives and the most delectable spread of food
The service on the other hand… was slow, and stuff was an attentive which is such a shame. Because the food was so good!
The meals were terrific, steaks cooked to perfection. Sarah and staff made my friend and me feel welcome and provided the perfect interaction a customer could want
All made incredibly special by the attentive staff. What a lovely morning/afternoon

Great place for an overnight sleep or longer Excellent staff very helpful and friendly. Nice indoor pool and spa and has a gym very well set out.
I recently stayed at Rydges Canberra and, overall, found the experience to be quite average. The hotel didn’t quite live up to my expectations — while it wasn’t bad, it also wasn’t particularly memorable
The food was fresh, well-prepared, and offered a good variety — a great way to start the day. In summary, Rydges Canberra was okay for a short stay, but it didn’t impress
Large clean room. Friendly staff. Central location close to many of Canberra’s attractions.
Breakfast was good. Location okay. Interior design, layout of hotel good. Open space concept.
Very nice hotel. Specially stay with children’s and family members . My kids really enjoyed it.

Add to this the great food, prompt room service and friendly staff and I'd rate The Avenue as the best in Canberra and best value
Returned to The Avenue a few years after being a regular. They haven't missed a beat! Room is immaculate, super comfortable beds, great pillows, great amenities and outstanding service
Clean room, comfortable bed and good location near restaurants and bus terminal. It was cheaper booking through an outside booking site even when I asked the hotel for best price
I told the front desk my child lifted an item but did not open nor eat it,and the charge was reversed. Washer/dryer is a combined machine and drying takes hours. Overall, a good stay and would definitely stay again
Good location and easy to find restaurants nearby, room facilities (such as washing machine, microwave and balcony) are very well. The breakfast is delicious!
Room size ( one bedroom) is really good

Good and clean room.. Perfect for couple who seek history value on accommodation.
Nice classy hotel with very clean rooms and charming breakfast restaurant.
Very good hotel, we’ve stayed here a few times already. Food is great and staff members are friendly. We would recommend the hotel to other people.
We were married in September 2022 at Hotel Kurrajong, after a year of planning with Michaela. It was a beautiful and picturesque day, filled with love and joy, followed by a rock and roll celebration
Our stay at this hotel was wonderful, we had breakfasts in the morning- hubby loved it and they had option for vegan as well. Only con is smelling cigarettes while we walking to the room
Old charm meets modern amenities. We loved our short stay at hotel Kurrajong. From the entrance with the fireplace and warm and helpful staff to the garden for pre dinner drinks

Vibe is a stunning building with an amazing bar and restaurant area. Walking distance to the airport.
Even though it is located next to an airport terminal, you could not hear any noise from outside even with the curtains opened!
Large clean rooms. Very convenient location, easy walk to the airport. Friendly staff.
Positives: It is 3 minute walk from airport but still very quiet. The room is very good with decent size. Negatives: The Shower gel dispenser was totally empty when I entered
Fifth time staying at the Vibe Canberra & it always lives up to expectations. Reception check in very quick, food was exceptional & staff were extremely polite & courteous
Highly recommended! Three minute walk to the airport which is very handy for an early morning flight

They also have a Christmas workshop set up way before Christmas. The room was very nicely decorated with ample of space for crafting and small table for some drinks
They also served milk in the workshop room, but I had concerns that the milk was there from the morning for the whole day and that it was not kept chilled, which might not be good for the kids to consume
We stayed over Christmas and it was lovely for the kids. They were welcomed with gift packs full of mini-games, not just the normal colouring papers and pencils
The only downside was that many things had been used up and not refilled as the workshop opened a few weeks before Christmas
Hotel was very clean, staff were very nice and polite and location was great.
The receptionists were very friendly

The waiter's attitude was very good and the room was in good condition. But you must bring your own slippers, as the hotel does not provide them
The hotel is in a very good location, right in the city, very close to the largest shopping mall, Canberra Centre
Service very good and the room was huge
This hotel was okay, my family and I have no complaints about not being able to sleep which was good, but there was a lot of unhygienic cons
Having not stayed at the Mantra on Northbourne for a few years, and reading the recent reviews, I was a little concerned that one of my favourite apartment style hotels in Canberra, may no longer be one of my favourites! However
the apartments are still great! The 2 bedroom apartment we had allocated was; - clean - comfortable - had all the expected amenities Further, staff at reception could not have been more helpful and caring

good location. average hotel.clean but opd building
Clean & neat. Very convenient & excellent hot water. Great restaurant - good food & reasonable prices.
As good as usual, enough parking space, room is good, locate center
Bathroom has mould, noise insulation isn’t good enough because the building is very old, window lock handle was broken & cannot be fully closed
A beautiful relaxing setting, tastefully decorated with the indoor gardens and palm trees. The restaurant and bar are open to suit any traveler’s time schedule. The rooms are clean, fresh and very comfortable
Took my relatives from overseas to visit Canberra. The hotel is in a great location plus parking is free. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Surprisingly the buffet breakfast was nice and value for money

Friendly staff and large comfortable rooms. 24 hours a day kiosk with coffee was very good as well.
The location is also really good, you’re literally close to anywhere in Canberra!
Good and convenient 4 star hotel
Although it was school holidays and a very busy time for the Rex ,the staff at Reception were so helpful at check in , friendly but professional. Housekeeping excellent, the hotel cleanliness is at a high standard
We had a great stay at Rex hotel. Room was clean (including the bathroom), staff were also very friendly and helpful. It offers free parking as well, which was very good
Food quality The food served during the conference was not the best, with many items fried and lacking variety. Coffee quality Filtered coffee was offered as standard, with barista coffee costing extra

Great spot to walk around Canberra. Room are clean shower is hot. Bar cocktails are delicious. Breakfast is excellent value and very good. Staff are all helpful and friendly.
Configuration of a rural guesthouse. The village is not big, and the location is not very meaningful. The air circulation in the room is too poor, and the musty smell is obvious
The staff has a good service attitude! But the facilities are simple and shabby! Not recommended!
This accomodation was top notch. Amazing staff always smiling & helpful. We were upgraded to a bigger room which was magnificent & so warm during the cold nights. Staff went far & beyond for all our needs
Fantastic heritage building hotel. Love love love! I was so relaxed and comfortable. Everything was wonderful and I wish all my hotel stays were like this one
Close to everything & within walking distance to the City Centre. HIGHLY RECOMMEND & we would love to return!

Absolutely superb We stayed in a Blue Gum Villa and it was amazing. Spotlessly clean and huge bedrooms. The bathroom was massive with modern fixtures and had more than enough large fluffy towels and other linens
The laundry is the most expensive of places we have stayed $6/load. The Reception staff are lovely but it would be good if they doubled staff during high peak times so there isn't such a long wait to check in
Alivio Tourist Park ticks all the boxes. Great choice of accommodation. Lots of fun activities in the park including a swimming pool and spa, tennis court and table tennis. We had a ball!
Good privacy, fully equipped kitchen
Had breakfast there as well which was also nice but probably a bit too expensive to do it each day. Staff were very friendly and accommodating
Had a lovely 2 night stay at Alivio, travelled to Canberra to attend a wedding. Stayed in a 2 bedroom villa and it was everything we needed

This two bedroom apartment is very modern and comfortable. Bed mattress is plush and supporting. Staff are friendly and helpful.
I love the modern vibe of this hotel. Every time we stay here, we always have good sleep
a very comfortable and nice hotel for driver, we should have stayed more days!
We stayed in the one bedroom appartments and it was perfect accommodation. Clean warm and high end. The best accommodation we’ve found in Canberra.
Nice location, quite Barton, bars and restaurants around. Close to city. Room is practical, smells good. Overall, we are very satisfied! Highly recommended!
Great staff the accommodation was superb. The wifi was awesome and the parking great. Really great value a must I would say. I’ve stayed abou ten hotels in Canberra this hands down the best and really great rates

Neatly presented stylish rooms that cater for all group sizes. Although the bathrooms are outdated but do provide shampoo etc if you forget to pack yours
Good location with a club/pub next door. Comfy bed, shower wasn't the best as it fluctuates between hot and cold at times and neighbouring shower was noisy while in use
Rooms neat and tidy with all amenities good for a comfortsble stay. Very quiet and good value for money. Adjacent clubs, shops and services were all within very close and easy walking distance
Better than my expectations. The hotel provides family room which is very convenience. The room is good. Only thing is the shower head is not good and cups didn’t clean properly.
We had an excellent stay at Alpha Hotel over Easter! A large group of us travelled from all over and used it as our home base. We hadn't been there in years, but it lived up to our good memories
We booked here during the Easter Long Weekend with the 4 kids. It was great as there was a separate room for the adults and the 4 kids had bunk beds. The rooms were clean and the service was great

Mercure Canberra
Canberra, 39 Limestone Avenue 🧭 Map
The property has old world charm and has very good sized rooms. It’s location is excellent in relation to the airport, main attractions and the city centre
The decision makers need to better respect the heritage and history of this hotel and actively promote and embrace it. It's a no-brainer that it would be good for business
You walk into a lovely 1920's heritage lobby and there is a neon Streets Icecream fridge right there, the bistro food is lacklustre (pasta night in particular seems to be supermarket ready made) and feels more like a low tier club
My feedback is purely from walking around and also eating at the bistro a handful of times. I haven't seen the accomodation. The "MERCURE" sign at the front really isnt great
Really appreciate having pet friendly rooms, even if they are a bit tired. But charging for guest parking on top of an expensive room rate is highway robbery
Guarantee you'll do better looking after this hotel and its original charms rather than trying to make it into a generic mish mash of old and new

My schedule changed and I canceled one day at the hotel, but they were willing to negotiate with me. Thank you very much! The hotel is in a good location, has parking, and the rooms and bathrooms are very large
This hotel in Kansas City is pretty good. It was nice to stop for a night's rest on the way to Melbourne.
Overall, the service quality is good, except for the air conditioner in the living room which is leaking.
We got referral from our friend and were very happy with our first experience here. Clean, comfy, complete amenities. Close to everywhere, restaurant, supermarket, petrol
There are friendly staffs and easy to find the location. We will definately come back for our next trip to Canberra
Overall, it is a very cost-effective hotel, and it is worth staying at around 700!

Good location, 15 mins from the city. The king bedroom is excellent and spacious, it is generally my go to booking. I've stayed in this hotel 5 times so far and overall I'm satisfied with the price and service
This was in a great position, with good communication and tidy facilities
Clean and comfortable, only down fall TV in bedroom had no reception and TV in living room was cutting in and out.
Room was good however the bed was small. Also, the tv barely can play a local news as the screen keeps on freezing. In addition, the bathroom floor was sticky
Excellent accommodation and really well run. All staff were great and the facilities were fantastic.
I was ones in room 3 and 5 and noticed the same thing, it’s as if they don’t properly clean the floor tiles. This time I was in 145 and the bathroom/toilet floor was sticky

ANU - University House Hotel
Canberra, 1 Balmain Crescent 🧭 Map
Classy dining with a heritage setting in the confines of a big university. The wine selection is excellent and there is a choice of indoor and outdoor dining weather permitting with cheaper options available
The furniture that still graces it's room was designed by Fred Ward, Australians leading industrial designer of the period. University House has been listed on the Register of the National Estate since 2022
The landscape of University House is very fascinating, particularly during autumn. It has beautiful mapple trees
Beautiful grounds- best of any hotel in Canberra in my opinion. Rooms are generally large with authentic 1950's furnishings. Lovely spot.
University House is Building No. 1 on the ANU campus landscape
The house was designed by Prof Brian Lewis of the University of Melbourne, drawing inspiration from the colleges of Cambridge and Oxford University, and from newer European universities

We enjoyed our recent two-night stay at the Best Western in Canberra. As a base for a short trip, it offered great value for money and a quiet, comfortable experience
Service was great! Place was clean, bed was very comfortable. It's easy to find with parking on-site. Good breakfast provided is an added bonus!
While the bathroom felt a little dated, everything worked perfectly, and the shower pressure was excellent
It was at a good location everything was 10 mins away the room was nice and clean. It had foxtel loved it
Great location. Clean but a little bit outdated. Overall good for value.
The location is convenient, particularly with the free on-site parking, and it's just a short drive to the Parliamentary Triangle and the shops and restaurants in Manuka and Kingston

Lovely and cozy room in modern decor, love it
Don't choose this hotel for family trips. It's the largest room type, but it's still unsatisfactory. The hotel faces the road on three sides, which is very noisy. In the morning, trees were chopped across the street
The room was absolutely amazing and we were extremely comfortable! It was so lovely to have such an awesome room to make the occasion feel extra special
At times we had to use our phone camera lights. Service - I felt like we were treated very much like second class citizens. com and it just had a feel like that we weren't aloud to be there
Truly fabulous hotel! Location, super quiet, heavenly beds, with great pillows. well thought out, excellent mini with lots of local stuff available, really everything you need without making a fuss about it
We had the best stay during Easter break at this unique hotel. The hotel, the staff and the service is top notch. Special mention to Mandeep at the Reception who made our check-in so smooth and special
