Great location, only 5 minutes walk from where I work in Canberra.
The room is spacious but the layout could have been better with the TV sitting on top of the cabinet with the minibar followed by the desk, then on the opposite side of the room is a couch, but the couch is opposite the desk, so the TV is at an angle.
I also had an issue using my mouse on the desk as it has a glass top, so an optical mouse won't work. Luckily I had a large serviette that I could use.

We stayed here 11 years ago, and it hasn't changed at all, which is not great. It needs updating. Very tired and shabby decor. Bed was comfy, but there were kids running amok up and down the hallways without supervision, the pool and spa had no water, unusable, the menu was very limited, breakfast was either over or undercooked, and the bathroom wasn't clean. The terrace had overflowing bins and ashtray that looked like they hadnt been cleaned in weeks. Attention to detail. Not sure if we would stay again.

Room clean and functioning. Service by in room staff not welcomed and felt uneasy about them going through my stuff. Reasonable Wait to check in despite obviously something wrong with my leg and uneasy to stand (broken bones). Breakfast a horrible rip off $34 is ONLY choice. Eggs scrambled, cold and no taste. Bacon cold. Coffee horrendous, tea you can’t get a hot one. No real Options for a hot drink. Toast is like very mildly warm bread. breakfast don’t do it to yourself, go elsewhere. Pillows super worse pillows ever, would benefit from contemporary pillow menus. There is NOTHING close to this hotel. I recommend only as last resort as rooms are clean at least.

Terrible. Don't stay here. I couldn't sleep there was no cool air coming from the air conditioner but the loud noise it made prevented us from sleeping. The room was disgustingly hot.
My 3 children and I received 2 towels in our room and we had to beg for more towels especially pool towels. We were also given 2 bars of soap for 4 people.
The restaurant was below average. The breakfast was terrible. Actually it was the worst food I've ever had and there were Fruit flies over it.
The rooms are extremely dated. The fold out sofa bed that my son was provided was not level, it had a big dip in the middle, it looked like it was an original piece of furniture, it looked so used that it made me physically ill at the thought of how many people had used it.
It's not worth the money to stay here.
Staff were just going through the motions not one of them showed any skills in customer service.
We won't be back and I truly believe that the staff at the Rydges don't care.

Nice quiet spot, rooms are tidy, breakfast is good. We had a few problems like our a/c didn’t cool our room down, very warm during the day and during the night, had to sleep with a/c all night with no blankets….def wouldn’t stay here in summer. Also had troubles getting in and out of the car park every time, ended up parking outside the hotel to save headaches. The worst part was that I had to drive up to the petrol station to buy a bottle of water as the hotel had none behind bar and had no vending machine. Besides that it was a nice hotel but I would only stay here in winter if I was to stay again.

Good location just a short walk from bars, restaurants etc. Nice hotel overall. Very warm when walking in to the hotel with a lovely fresh scent in the air. Staff members at reception could be friendlier. Rooms require a bit more attention to detail for cleanliness as there is mould and build up in the grout especially the floor and the silicone requires replacement. The bedding is a bit odd with the blanket being between 2 sheets. Would feel cleaner if the blanket was in a cover as everyone would obviously touch the blanket. Overall a decent experience nicer than the other hotel i stayed at.

The carpet looks, smells and feels old and dirty. Also, decorations are outdated.
It feels quite depressing coming into these rooms.
The shower is open and water goes everywhere.
Also, a chocolate bar $5? Really?
Also, the desk is glass. Try to use your computer mouse with a glass table.
I gave 2 ⭐ because the covered area downstairs is nice, that's it.
