Quite frustrating stay.
I had set our arrival time at the hotel between 1 am and 2 am when I booked in our accommodation, we arrived right on time to find that there was no staff on the premises at all to check us in, it took us about 30 minutes to find a random phone number so they could just give us a code to our room, after having to drive eight hours it was not very ideal to have to scavenger hunt, to find out where and how to get into our room. The beds are extremely soft and the pillows almost feel like they’re filled with air quite an uncomfortable sleep, the room was fairly clean but in the bathroom there was a black hair from someone’s nether regions right on the body wash. It also looks like the shower floor hadn’t been clean properly, I don’t expect outstanding things due to the price but if it’s 24 hour reception and 24 hour check-in, I expect a person to be there and I expect the room to be probably cleaned.

We can hear people next door talking as we were arranged to stay at a connecting room. The door crack is so wide that we can hear people next door talking which gives a sense of insecurity. It is suggested that the door crack should be fixed, for the privacy of people staying at the two rooms who do not know each other.

We had a great stay at The Statesman for a work stint in Canberra. The rooms were clean and comfortable, it’s close to everything and a really nice bar and restaurant downstairs. I was there on a Thursday and the place was buzzing with the meat raffle. Couldn’t fault the service.

Happy with the room , TV.didnt have free to air commercial channels 9 & 7 and the night service desk is basically a help line that were very polite but useless telling me they would send an email at 7:30 the next day which was no help considering I was booking out the next morning.
Coffee n Tea wants updating with some non sugar sweeteners added to the mix
1 pillow not enough 2 pillows to much but this is common in most hotels i usually take my own .
Restaurant was very good and convenient prices were reasonable beer was cold and the service 10/10
Would stay here again fix the Tele I’ll bring my own pillows bring my own condiments 😊

1.The Wi-Fi password was not provided at check-in and only became available close to check-out, which was inconvenient.
2.The windows couldn’t be opened, making the room feel less ventilated.
3.There was a water leak in the sink that was hard to turn off.
4.The kettle wasn’t clean when I wanted to prepare morning tea.
5.The decor felt outdated and would benefit from modernization.
Overall, the hotel offered some standout features, like the innovative phone key and great shower, but a few improvements in cleanliness and maintenance would significantly enhance the experience.
