Title: Disappointing Stay at Albizia Beach Hotel Varna

Review:

Our stay at Albizia Beach Hotel Varna was a mix of beautiful views and unpleasant surprises. While the hotel offers some positives, like its close proximity to the beach, stunning sea views, three hot tubs, a nice, clean bathroom, and a spacious room with a lovely terrace overlooking the sea, the negatives sadly overshadowed these aspects.

We initially booked a room expecting a large double bed, but upon arrival, we were given a room with two single beds. After requesting a room change, we moved to another room, but this is where the real issues began.

The new room had punch holes in the door, which was unsettling. The curtain had a big cut in it, and we even found some salt sticks in the minibar that had expired, although they were still sealed and showed no signs of being spoiled. The terrace door couldn't be fully opened because it was blocked by incorrectly placed tiles underneath. To make matters worse, we discovered a dried bloodstain on the bedsheet upon arrival. A few days into our stay, an insect crawled out from behind the minibar, adding to our discomfort.

The most alarming issue was the mold we found inside the inner air conditioning unit. Not only could we feel the effects on our breathing after using the air conditioning for a day, but there were also times when we could clearly smell the mold, humidity, and general unfreshness of the air inside the room. This is extremely unhealthy and unacceptable for any accommodation.

When we reported all these issues to the reception, their only response was, “We are aware of some of those and we apologize for the inconvenience,” without offering any solution or attempting to propose any form of compensation. This lack of responsiveness and care for their guests was very disappointing.

The overall maintenance of the hotel was also lacking. The exterior walls and the hotel sign were in poor condition, with paint peeling and bursting off in several places. This lack of care extended to the breakfast as well. At 9 euros, we expected a decent meal, but the breakfast was extremely minimalistic with limited options, and frankly, the taste left much to be desired.

In conclusion, while the location and views at Albizia Beach Hotel are fantastic, the poor room conditions, lack of cleanliness, presence of mold, and unresponsive customer service make it difficult to recommend this hotel. It’s unfortunate that such a beautiful setting is overshadowed by these serious issues, particularly those that impact health and safety.

This is the worst example of customer service I had in Bulgaria. The example how can you turn a good client into dissatisfied rejector. Just because of incompetent and impolite reception service.

We booked the room with 2 beds and sea view. When we arrived the hotel staff literally said we are lucky that we have anything (either see view or 2 beds).

Then the staff tried to put the blame on us that we did not book correctly… (pathetic and even embarrassing). Later on just advised to get compensation from booking.

This is not what you expect from a decent hotel is it ? …
