A quiet and beautiful place! The host is very warm and friendly, and the room is clean, warm and comfortable! Nearby are restaurants, library, parks and a great value used bookstore! Great location! We love this place!
We booked through Airbnb and it was great. Nicola is very friendly and has great suggestions to get your trip to Quebec City off on the right start.
The place is well located, 10 minutes to the old city by bus. The owner is very friendly and gives amazing suggestions. Their breakfast is delicious and well served (go for eggs Benedict with veggies! Yummy) The room is also cozy. The only con is the shower, it could use some improvement. The water keeps getting cold and hot. Other than that, a very nice place to stay in Quebec.
I agree with the summary of reviews: the auberge is probably 2-3 stars, but that's to be expected. It's an auberge - like a French country inn. We had a private bath. It was adequate but no effort was made to hide the silicon sealant, water temp fluctuated as other rooms used water. Most of the room was taken up by the bed, couch and small TV stand. And you can hear other guests through the walls...
No corporate chain here. Personal, genuine, responsible and reliable. They go out of the way for their guests. You feel cared for. We left a tablet under a pillow. They contacted us immediately. The travelers friend

Clean, cheap, didn't hear anyone during the night, had air conditioning and did the job, sympathetic staff, great pillows, enough free parking places. Overall, very good. The only down side is the mattress since I'm used to a high quality mattress in my apartment. So that might be an issue for some people, but still, a great place to stay!
Very nice staff. For the price in Quebec I guess it's good. Parking is included. But rooms are very small. But again, for the price it's fine
Friendly people. If you miss anything in your room, like a hairdryer, a toaster, a water cooker, cutlery, what ever, don’t hesitate to ask.
I was late to arrive.. an everything was very simple.. well made out map.. had a good stay..
Hi All, Stayed for three nights and it was okay. A nice breakfast and clean rooms. The hotel has many problems. The towel rack in the wash room was falling out of the wall. They said the room had climate control, no such thing. The door locks were messed up, and the room had no coffee in it. They charge $5CAD for WiFi a day. We would not pay that. Okay if you need a place for the night, but would...
Great location. Clean room. Light breakfast included. Nice staff. The room was very small but I had a great time.

Very cozy hotel that feels like home. Not too far from Quebec City (15 minutes by car, bus, or about and hour of walking). We stayed here for Memorial Day weekend and were very pleased.
For the price, it's a deal. Nothing special. Clean, humble and quaint. I've stayed here twice in winter and summer. Next time I'm in town, I'll probably stay here again.

An outstanding hostel. A friend and I stayed 5 nights in a 6-bed all female room. The whole space had such a warm and welcoming feel that I instantly felt like I was at home. The place is very clean and tastefully decorated. Every morning the owners personally make loads of pancakes and bread/biscuits for the guests along with an assortment of jam options, butter and coffee/tea, as included with the...
Pros: friendly staff, free pancake breakfast, relatively clean. Cons: the building's a bit rickety, as are the bunk beds, and spotty Wi-Fi. Overall: a really cost effective place to stay within walking distance to the old town along with a fun, social hostel experience.
Probably the best hostel I've been to yet. The 6 dorm female room was pretty spacious, and the one bathroom for all 6 of us wasn't too bad. Unfortunately a girl who was clearly sick was also staying there, causing me to become extremely ill shortly after leaving.. The employees were very nice though, and over-all the experience was good. I'd highly recommend it even though it looks run-down from the...

The location was perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our king bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was really nice. Loved the ambiance of an older building and enjoyed our breakfasts in their charming restaurant.
We stayed here on the first night of our honeymoon and everything was absolute perfection. We arrived late and checked in at another hotel. The young lady was so kind and helpful, walked us to the hotel and made sure we had everything we needed. The room was beautiful, clean and cozy. We hope to stay here again in the future!
I love the feel and atmosphere of this hotel. I love historic buildings and this felt like a little piece of the past. It's right down in the old city, a prime location. We stayed in room #14 and it was very cozy. The room was small but the atmosphere was really great. Loved the stone walls and the fireplace, as well as the plaid wool blanket. The service was fantastic and the breakfast at the restaurant...
This hotel is perfect!!! We were looking for something cozy and historical and it did not disappoint. We were in room 30 in the attic, super cozy, perfect for the two of us. A comfortable bed, cozy room, good bathroom. Great location, right in the heart of the Christmas markets! Friendly front desk, super helpful when it came to information, a map of the city, parking. Breakfast was also included and...
What a great experience! Comfortable rooms, fabulous location, easy parking and the most helpful staff. When I asked to borrow a corkscrew they went out of their way to bring up wine glasses. Would definitely recommend!!
Pretty , quaint little hotel . Located in the middle of everything. Make sure you check-in before 7:00 pm or you get an Email informing you to go to different Hotel or a local business to retrieve information on getting into your room. Pierre next door kindly waited for us with instructions. No compensation offered. Website states reception is open 9:00 am to 9:00pm. Not pleased after a 10 hrs drive...

The owner is quite nice. She serves the continental breakfast to each customer personally. The service is personal and welcoming. I would stay there again because the owner was very nice to us.
This was a lovely, quaint hotel. The owners were very nice. We came from MTL, with my daughter asleep in the back seat. We were arriving later than expected because of lack of electric charging stations available in QC. They were very sweet and waited up for us. The room was in an older style with a beautiful view. Strongly recommend.
Room was not like website pictures. No View at all. Strong Perfume smell. Room 10 had a dangerous step by the bathroom and almost got killed at night. Cramped and small bathroom, with no shower at all. But overall was close to many fun thing and I had a good time.
A wonderful stay! I would highly recommend La Chouette. The room was beautiful and the customer service was excellent. Good value for money.
Really liked this little hotel. It is a beautiful building, both inside and out. The location is excellent, and the rooms well appointed. The staff are also lovely and accommodating. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and it was good value for money.
Great location. We only met one staff member but she was very helpful and pleasant. Our room was on the top floor and there is no elevator but we knew that when we booked. Room was small but well furnished, cozy, clean, and quiet. We had air conditioning, TV, small desk, and a mini-fridge.

Great location. Kitchen available for cooking and storing your food. Nice breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms and washrooms very clean. Soft towels.
Great environment, staff, service, location, community !!! Beautiful view from our private room. Fantastic sound isolation for a hostel, better than many cheap (and expensive) hotels. Will be my go-to for the area! I loved the communal breakfast.
Great location, clean rooms, nice sunny windows. I would stay here again. Not every bed space has outlet access, only some do. Room lockers are a little small but not tiny. I could shove my backpacking pack inside.
I just finished my stay at this hostel during the Carnaval de Québec. We were a family of 3 staying. For the price and location, you really can't beat it. In terms of a hostel, it's really about what you'd expect. Rooms seemed clean enough. Hallways were a bit more dirty, but they were in the process of renovations so that made sense. Downstairs there's breakfasts in the morning from 7-10 am, and...
Good service and location (located in Old Quebec). Rooms and restrooms are clean. Good breakfast. The only thing I don't satisfy with is the lack of a hair dryer, shampoo, and body wash. However, I had really good stay overall!
Great hostel for a short stay. Highly recommend the guided tour. Hot breakfast in the morning was a welcome perk with toast, bagels, cereal, coffee and fruit. Shared bathrooms were clean. No issues with security or comfort. Very helpful and cheerful staff. Able to easily stay with little to no French language skills
