Fairmont Chateau Laurier, Ottawa1 / 32

Ottawa, 1 Rideau Street 🧭 Map
Great location, and clean room.
The Fairmont Chateau Laurier is an iconic landmark in Ottawa, offering a perfect blend of luxury, history, and charm. Guests can enjoy a guided tour of the hotel to uncover its rich heritage. Adding a unique touch to the experience is Stewart, the hotel's beloved canine ambassador. This friendly black Labrador retriever, once trained as a guide dog, now welcomes guests and has even inspired a children...
Had to change room because it was dirty Due to this experience, they upgraded the room
The location and environment are impeccable, and I have to say a few more words about the food and service. Since we arrived after 9pm, the French meal that ended at 10pm was not suitable, so the waiter introduced us to the international fusion cuisine opposite. The taste was good and met our expectations, but the variety was a little less. Diago at the front desk is what I want to introduce today...
The room is very spacious and the service is very thoughtful. They took the initiative to upgrade the room. The hotel facilities are indeed old, and the air conditioners are old. The sound insulation is average. The location is very good. Capitol Hill is next door.
We had a great stay. Beautiful, historic hotel. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and made our stay enjoyable!

The hotel and amenities were very nice! The restaurant in the hotel has amazing bread that’s made by the chef. The hotel staff are all very friendly and kind. The rooms are very spacious and the bathroom area had heated floors. The curtains don’t fully block out the light so if you need to room dark the sun will slightly shine through the cracks. Hotel is right near the downtown and I’m walking distance...
The place is great but at this moment, there is a lot of construction in that specific area so not great for wallons and visiting around.
Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful including the room service, concierges, door man, bar maid and every other employee we encountered. Facility is well designed however the bare ceilings and laminate floors/tile are quite loud. That said they are good insulation except for outside traffic; we are not used to cities! Gym was adequate. It could use a bit more space to allow full body weight workouts...
The room is quite big but the design is not reasonable. The bed and pillows are quite comfortable. The only drawback is the water pressure. After ten minutes of waiting for the water to heat up, the water pressure suddenly increases and it becomes impossible to wash! I’m surprised I didn’t read other guest reviews and mentioned this issue before! The issue of water pressure cannot be solved by changing...
The hotel has good decoration style and facilities
It's better than expected. Quite a surprise.

Friendly staff and rooms are very clean. Location is perfect , right in the downtown area. Would highly recommend.
We stayed at the Lord Elgin Hotel the night before our wedding, and it was a wonderful experience. The service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was calm and pleasant, just what we needed before the big day. The valet service was quick and efficient, though it’s good to know there is a $44 charge per night. Overall, everything felt smooth and well taken care of, and we’re glad we chose to stay there...
For my first time staying overnight at Ottawa, I booked a hotel room for one night at Lord Elgin. Upon arriving early at the hotel, I was provided with a room before my check-in time - which was very appreciated. The facilities are clean and the staff is friendly. However, little did we know, our room on the 7th floor was connected to another room with adjoining doors. We were unable to sleep through...
We had a wonderful experience at the Lord Elgin for our wedding and related block booking. Staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and most importantly kind and patient. We felt comfortable and well taken care of and the hotel itself is gorgeous. The hotel restaurant is also stellar, be sure to grab lunch or dinner at least once - you won't regret it!
Great location, good room with very comfy beds. Service very good. The corridor carpets are in need of replacing but they were in the process of dealing with this whilst we were there. Can't really fault it and a very nice hotel to stay in.
I loved this hotel. The bed was comfortable, the staff was pleasant, and the breakfast was tasty. The valet parking is chaotic. Twice, I had to drive on the sidewalk to get through the jam at the front door. Also, the A/C blew over the bed and was too drafty. It was either too high, even at the lowest setting, or we had to turn it off, leaving us a bit warm. I loved the old world feel of the place...
