Hotel itself is a landmark and has its historical value. When we visited the hotel had electricity issues but we were lucky as they resolved our side quickly. The charm of the hotel is on another level. Next to the Rideau Canal and Parliament made it even better. Recommend to book a parliament view room. Highly recommended in my books.

Very nice location but old hotel that needs some updates. Our coffee machine did not work as they had it plugged into a power bar that kept blowing fuse’s. The front desk was friendly and quick to respond however the repair man admitted that whoever installed it did a lazy job. Also the blinds in the room are not “black out”. My (now) fiance took me to the Fairmont for a long weekend away and it was hands down the best place I've ever stayed! He called ahead and let them know he was planning on proposing and they hooked us up with a surprise amazing view. Everything was absolutely perfect!! We'll definitely be back!!!

We had a wonderful experience at the Lord Elgin for our wedding and related block booking. Staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and most importantly kind and patient. We felt comfortable and well taken care of and the hotel itself is gorgeous. The hotel restaurant is also stellar, be sure to grab lunch or dinner at least once - you won't regret it!

We spent two nights at the Lord Elgin Hotel. The room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and very good room darkening curtains. We had an incredible first stay at the Lord Elgin Hotel! The room was fantastic. We rented the Churchill Suite for our wedding. Stayed 2 nights with my wife and kids and everyone was happy and comfortable with our room. The pool especially was a very nice temperature, there was a hot tub as well. Quite possibly the nicest Hilton property I’ve ever stayed at, and I’ve been a diamond member for a long time. Rooms, service, food, the property grounds, pools and spa, the fitness center, all of it is amazing. My only complaint would be its distance from just about anything except the casino.

The hotel and casino are connected with an indoor hallway. Valet parking available at the hotel. Beautiful big lobby. Lots of space to hang out and chill, As always, very nice reception. One traveller among us is a member of the casino. I am a Hilton member. We got a lovely 25% discount for this stay. We were even able to upgrade to a junior suite for an extra 88$. Very nice room. The concierge we communicated with were very helpful and always with a smile. Check in and Check out were a breeze! Location is ideal for us as we were there for a competition across the street and Parking was a bonus as it is so close and convenient.

The hotel is worth the price because of the staff! They are all friendly and very helpful. In special, the most wonderful person, Patricia, made our stay so much better! From the moment we entered the hotel, the staff was incredible. Helpful, kind and their energy makes you want to come back again. The wonderful lady who checked us in was beyond helpful and the lady who served me coffee in the morning was a pleasure to be around and her energy alone makes you want to come back! Wow, what a great stay! I loved the fact that there was a pool and there was also a breakfast buffet! (Very tasty with lots of food). There was a fitness center too. I have one little comment, it did not bother me much but it might bother you: the rooms were a little bit smaller than the average 3-4 star hotel. The view from my room was fantastic. It was a spacious, comfortable suite. I booked it partly for the kitchenette, and was disappointed that nothing was provided in that kitchenette. No dishes, cutlery or glassware. This defeated the purpose of having a kitchen. The hotel is very convenient for using the transit system.

Nice place to stay. Pool is nice. Stayed for a hockey tournament, kids ran the whole floor. Parents were able to order pizza locally and eat in the hall. That was good since the resto at the hotel could not accomodate the 30 of us on such short notice.(Not a complaint, just suggest if you are going to, make a reservation early so they know your coming)

Nice welcoming lobby with a beautiful fountain/garden display. Took very long to check in as there was only one desk worker. Beds were more on the firm side which is alright, I slept pretty well and that's the most important part to me. The beds seemed a bit old and we're very squeaky, just getting in and out of them sounded comical. Overall not too bad.

This is a really good property! The location is great to Ottawa but at the same time it gets you away from all the busyness of the city. We stayed in the hospitality suite for 3 nights. There was a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, kitchen sink and iron. It’s a great place to stay, excellent location for our son’s Ottawa University drop off. Room was very spacious and bed was very comfortable. Everything is close by and you don’t have to drive much to get to anywhere in and around Ottawa. Two amenities could be improved upon is parking and the breakfast area. Both are limited in space. Rooms were more than satisfying. The sofa bed not so comfortable. Pillows were missing for the sofa bed. Indoor parking is a great plus ... except when it becomes full, then you need to use the outdoor space at the back of the building. Complementary breakfast is varied and very good. Ideally located with a very cozy atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. Really enjoy staying at Alt Hotels - we last stayed at the one in St John’s NL. The room at the one in Ottawa was almost the same layout which was great. The only difference was the beds which are very soft/plush in Ottawa; it was hard on my back and I didn’t sleep very well. Minor issue and a personal preference.

Location is perfect, handy parking next door and the staff are extremely professional. It’s an older building but evident they’ve made an effort to maintain it and everything is very clean. I really enjoy the rooms in this hotel. The decor is certainly cool. It's very clean with a tiny amount of wear and tear. Many thoughtful details are found I the room. My only comment that isn't stellar has to do with the breakfast buffet. It was a underwhelming in that the hot foods weren't very hot. The tables could use placemats and salt and pepper.

It was a clean place to sleep. The breakfast was simple but starchy. The best shawarma place is supposed to be across the street from it but I wasn't able to try it out. It is also really close to the core Parliament area especially if you need to be somewhere near Sussex drive.

It was a very comfortable stay at Econo Lodge. The room was super clean with all the basic things included. Speaking about location, it's in the heart of the downtown making it easy for any commute. The position of the hotel is very good for everything that needs to be done in Downtown. There are plenty of nice restaurants and markets a short distance from the hotel.

Stayed here for 1 night. I really enjoyed my stay the only negative thing would be that the main curtain didnt fully close, so there was a big gap of light coming in in the morning. I was pleasantly surprised by my room, it's very beautiful, clean and well maintained. I can't comment too much on location as it's my first day. Service is lovely overall. However, I'm an English speaker and I did experience some slight attitide for not speaking French. Still recommend this hotel.

Our first week here we found alot of needles and pipes around. Needless to say we werent impressed. Poor maintenance, the Wi-Fi signal barely works, never hot water, and the staff are less than proffesional. Dont forget the endless screaming of guests whove got their entire family with them (sometimes 8 ppl) in a single room. This place used to be so nice. I wish theyd make the effort to clean it up...

The place and prices are good for what it is. The reviews people post is as if though they are expecting luxury standards. Relax people. They have everything you need and are very helpful. In addition everything is walking distance and downtown is shy of 10 minutes away.

Lucy was an amazing and friendly host with a big warm smile. The house is both grand and quaint in perfect walking distance from everything in downtown Ottawa!

We stayed here because, knowing Ottawa quite well, we wanted the ease of a downtown location. The "Northern" room had a bathroom en-suite which we really wanted - not all the rooms do. Absolutely phenomenal experience. We were in Ottawa for two nights and the location was just perfect. close to all the major landmarks and also there is a 24/7 diner close to the inn which makes it very convenient. I have to mention the host who was super humble and helped us throughout the stay. The place is clean, white and super comforting. Would definitely go again

Exactly as advertised. The room (Newfoundland) was quiet, and comfortable. The location was great (lots of restaurants and coffee shops around) and you could walk easily to most things. Quaint location, with a very nice room. Bed/bedding was very comfortable, and cozy. The interior has a well kept, Edwardian style which I apricated. The room was very clean, and quiet. We really enjoyed staying here. The host and staff are really nice and helpful and the Inn is in walking distance to many restaurants and bars. It was a bit noisy at night and the air conditioning in our room was broken which made sleeping in the late summer heat a bit uncomfortable. Other than that we loved it here, definitely staying here if we're making the trip to Ottawa again.
