Where to stay in Ottawa

The Marriott is an older property with a contemporary lobby. It was very popular with conferences and at least one youth sports team at the time of our visit. The location on Sparks Street can't be beat due to its proximity to shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. There's so much within walking distance we didn't bother renting a car. There is a grab and go station by the front desk as well...

Good location and service was pretty good and helpful. Hotel is very dated, especially in the rooms which felt like they hadn’t been updated in at least 30 years….felt like I was in a Seniors building. Rooms were clean and staff were quite helpful. I was there for a conference and the catering was excellent. Much better than a lot of other similar types of meals I’ve had in similar situations.

Just stayed this past weekend, Rooms a bit dated but corner room with river view was amazing. Customer service was top notch. Short walk to many locations. Only con.. they never emailed me my receipt! Been waiting 2 days now.

Great location downtown - easy access to destinations by walking or driving, and right on top of a subway station. The room was charming in an unrenovated way, and had a great view. Location was perfect for lots of things that we could get to on foot. Exactly what we wanted! We had originally booked 5 nights, and extended it 3 extra nights because we absolutely loved our holiday, and we didn't want it to end! I am enjoying my stay at the Westin. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the service is really good. The TV in the room has a personalized greeting, and the shower stall is roomy My only beef is the elevators make you select your room number before you enter them, which seems strange to me.

The room is very spacious and the service is very thoughtful. They took the initiative to upgrade the room. The hotel facilities are indeed old, and the air conditioners are old. The sound insulation is average. The location is very good. Capitol Hill is next door.

We had a wonderful experience at the Lord Elgin for our wedding and related block booking. Staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and most importantly kind and patient. We felt comfortable and well taken care of and the hotel itself is gorgeous. The hotel restaurant is also stellar, be sure to grab lunch or dinner at least once - you won't regret it!

I loved this hotel. The bed was comfortable, the staff was pleasant, and the breakfast was tasty. The valet parking is chaotic. Very comfortable stay. We initially had to switch rooms because the ventilation system was so loud in the first room. But after that, not a hitch. Thatcher was very welcoming and friendly when we first arrived. You can tell they care about the work. Our dog came with us and it was so comfortable. The pool was great and the gym was pretty good except many machines were in maintenance. I only tried the Cafe but it was great service and simple yummy food!

Quite possibly the nicest Hilton property I’ve ever stayed at, and I’ve been a diamond member for a long time. Rooms, service, food, the property grounds, pools and spa, the fitness center, all of it is amazing. My only complaint would be its distance from just about anything except the casino.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We had a leak in the toilet on the last day and immediately someone came to take care of it. I travel to Ottawa quite a bit for work and I always stay at the Sheraton. This hotel seems to have the comfiest beds and the service is always excellent. Really well located hotel near parliament hill, close to a few of the nice Ottawa museums, and right at the by market. Each room is in its own little 2-3 rooms nook so there’s no noise issues from the corridor. And you get included water, chips, chocolate and Coca Cola included in the room, which is a nice touch! The view from my room was fantastic. It was a spacious, comfortable suite. I booked it partly for the kitchenette, and was disappointed that nothing was provided in that kitchenette. No dishes, cutlery or glassware. This defeated the purpose of having a kitchen. The hotel is very convenient for using the transit system.

Nice place to stay. Pool is nice. Stayed for a hockey tournament, kids ran the whole floor. Parents were able to order pizza locally and eat in the hall. That was good since the resto at the hotel could not accomodate the 30 of us on such short notice.(Not a complaint, just suggest if you are going to, make a reservation early so they know your coming)

Nice welcoming lobby with a beautiful fountain/garden display. Took very long to check in as there was only one desk worker. Beds were more on the firm side which is alright, I slept pretty well and that's the most important part to me. The hotel is more impressive than expected, and transportation is convenient. Most of the scenic spots can be reached on foot by crossing the bridge. The accommodation overall felt a bit old, but it was clean. The staff and English communication was not very smooth. There is nothing around, but it is nice that you can walk to the shopping center.

Renos definitely needed, as my mattress had no protection and not pretty to see. No hot tub, and pool was cold and questionable. Booked with Wyndham made to look like you're getting breakfast free but they charge $12.00 and even I had to buy my own coffee for $2.50. Very unacceptable. But it was close to the casino which was fun.

The staff respond fast to any request. Rooms are kept well. Not much of a view but good location. Gym is decent, pool is small but nice, dry sauna is a nice addition. Breakfast is $12 for all you can eat toast, scrambled (or you can order), sausage and soft pork are so so, French toast is yum, taters and beans are OK.

Stayed here several times now. Large capacity with plenty of rooms, most of which have been renovated with laminate flooring and newer décor. Still needs some renovation though, some of the rooms are older and so are the hallways.

The hotel was great. Clean rooms, comfortable beds and staff was great. FYI the bathrooms are open concept. All opened to the actual room besides the toilet, clear glass showers. The area was not the best area. Didn’t feel comfortable walking around alone.

Great location and beautifully appointed rooms, but the only thing was that the parking was a bit hard to find and we had to drive around once. Other than that, all was excellent, especially the staff, they were very pleasant to deal with.

Comfort Inn Kanata has the nicest staff, I hope the other Comfort Inn’s are like this. They are efficient and welcome you with open arms. They make sure their guest are well taken care of and they do not hassle customers. Will definitely be back to this hotel again.Thank you so much

Nice older hotel. Rooms are comfortable. It’s not as classy as newer hotels but has good breakfast and friendly staff. And very close to the highway and grocery stores.

This Inn lived up to its name providing all the comforts we needed. Clean lovely room, lots of pillows for a very good sleep, full breakfast, convenient location, and very helpful staff. We left dress shoes in the room and staff were very patient (several phone calls) explaining various ways we could get them back.
