Holiday Inn Express & Suites St. John's Airport, an IHG Hotel

I sit here outside my bedroom door as my flight to Europe prepares to leave without me, because they can’t open my room!
This is no joke!
Apparently the keyless entry run out of battery, and to replace the battery they need the door open, but they can’t open the door because it has no battery.

1 elevator is broken, and the other besides being the slowest ever, it closes the door within 20 seconds of someone entering, so in one day I saw people separated from kids beca it closed and took off.
To go down and back up at 8 pm, it takes half hour.

The good news is, there’s plenty of parking spaces, and the rooms are nice and new.

* Update, the service man opened our door with a crow bar and we finning got our bags and cat

the rooms weren't clean, the bathroom was always dirty, the activities weren't that great, there was nothing to do, there weren't even any entertainers, in addition we stayed 2 days without Aqua and nobody came to give a look.

Well, it's close to the airport with free shuttle service....but that's about it.
We checked in, went to our room, there was feces on the toilet seat, we complained and were given another room. The next room had towels in the bathroom that were full of hair as if a guy was shaving and wiped his face kinda thing. We were too tired at that point to complain. And don't belive the web page for this hotel. It does NOT have an outdoor swimming pool and a few other items it lists. Has an indoor pool that's relatively small. The rooms do smell a bit funky....like dirty laundry, but if you blast the AC it seemed to go away.
In my opinion, it's not worth the price. Go to the comfort inn near by, way better service, clean rooms, nice lounge and good food. When I leave NL, I always have fish and what not that the comfort inn was always happy to put it in the freezer for me til my flight....Holiday inn said "no room" when we asked.
Many people in Alberta are familiar with Holiday inn express, it's usually a top notch place....but not in St. John's. It's completely different. And they are more expensive than others near by for some reason. Save yourself some money and headaches and stay at other options...there's plenty near by.
