Fairmont Empress Hotel1 / 50

Victoria, 721 Government Street 🧭 Map
The environment is first-class, in the heart of the old city port area, across the street from the city's landmark Parliament Building. However, the facilities are a bit old, especially the air conditioner, which is a bit noisy. Some waiters have good service attitudes.
Spacious and clean, perfect sunset harbor view from the window but toothbrush and toothpaste were not provided
Although the building is old, the room is very clean and bright, and the decoration is very tasteful. All kinds of sanitary products are available, and it feels like home! The most praiseworthy thing is the big bed, which is not only clean and tidy, but also gives you a "weightless" feeling when sleeping on it! The hotel is located in the seaside harbor, surrounded by British shops and various restaurants...
The staff are very nice, and everything is clean. As a clean freak, I would definitely choose this hotel if I come to Victoria again.
Fairmont seems to be a luxurious five star hotel. Nevertheless it’s a bit over-expected. The room is very small, and the toilet can only be used by one single person each time, which is very inconvenient if you go with young kids. High tea quality is unexpectedly low, the environment is good but the staff are not enough. The food is simply not delicate for such a renowned five star restaurant.
Historic hotel with the best location in downtown Victoria with easy walking distance to everything

We have stayed at this hotel 5 times this year between May and August and have loved every single night. The staff are friendly, they remember your face, and your preferences! We always feel welcomed. The spa like environment creates a tranquil space that allows your mind and body to just relax. The relaxation pool and hot tubs are fantastic and with the 16+ age restriction the space is calm.
Overall was a good stay. There are a few things to note that we found were disappointing and inconvenient. There were no locks on the bathroom door which was weird. The microwave was "locked" during our three day stay which was super inconvenient. Another thing to note is that the TV only has paid channels and live tv. There is no option to log into your Netflix or YouTube which is unfortunate as...
My recent stay at the Oak Bay Beach Hotel was unfortunately not as enjoyable as I had hoped. While the hotel has some positive features such as the spacious and clean rooms and friendly staff, there were some limitations that detracted from the overall experience. One major inconvenience was that the main restaurant was only open from Friday to Sunday, which meant that there were limited dining options...
Beautiful property with an outstanding ocean view. The rooms are very comfortable, and each come equipped with a large bathtub and separate shower. The heated mineral pools are amazing. The service was excellent throughout our stay. Everyone from the valet, front desk, housekeeping, pool staff, etc. was very friendly and helpful.
My husband and I came for our wedding anniversary to celebrate one night in the Oak Bay Hotel. I've heard so much about it that i decided to try it out. Everything from the moment we stepped foot on the property until we left was absolutely exquisite 👌 ✨️. They provide towels, flip-flops, and a robe in the room. They provide cold water in the pool area to drink and towels for the pool. The mineral...
Absolutely everything here was luxury and comfort. Gracious and professional staff. Clean and hospitable. Room service is Lovely and they check in on you at least twice a day if you need anything. The restaurants in the hotel are delicious albeit expensive. The pool is relaxing although many jets are not working. Cozy high quality robes and cardboard slippers for lazying around. Kitchen in the room...

Great location, within walking distance of waterfront, float plane, whale watch, and downtown. Very comfortable rooms.
GREAT building. Visit an old English Club, but one that allows both genders in. I have not stayed in the guest rooms. The common areas are what makes this place special.
Joined the club in March. Nice quiet peaceful atmosphere. Have eaten some awesome dinners. Five star meals and service.
Beautiful old world charm right in the heart of downtown. Especially love the rooftop deck and views.
Took a tour as we are considering joining the club. Our tour guide, Danielle, was friendly while being very informative and helpful. An impressive landmark, with rich heritage... truly beautiful building. Amenities were nice, and the location is amazing. Non members can book rooms here, might be a unique place to stay on your next visit to Victoria.
I went here for a work christmas party and nearly every part of the whole experience was amazing. Truly some of the best food I've had. BUT to be fully honest, the beef was not good at all. So chewy that if you went to take a bite of your beautiful sandwich that you just assembled, you wouldn't be able to pull away and you'd be stuck gnawing until something gives.

Decent place to stay in the city, nice workers.
Good hotel right at the center of everything! Lots of good restaurants and tourist places are near by. We were able to see the Victoria Day Parade from our room! Only disadvantage is you can hear traffic sound at night, if you are sensitive then book a room that doesn’t face the Main Street!
The hotel has really comfortable beds, awesome pillows, great water pressure, and atmosphere. There is a slight smell to the hotel that is not completely unpleasant. It kind of smells like old books. It's unfortunate that the parking is limited and the neighborhood is a bit sketchy. The hotel does have a good security system in place to combat the neighborhood issues. The staff are very welcoming...
Room was decent enough, but nothing special or nearing luxury.... the problem is you are paying luxury prices in summer season for a clean but budget style hotel..... close to shopping and food downtown, but also close to homeless sleeping in doorways and wandering around..... at the right price, say under $175 a night, not a bad option ... but with the high season rates you are getting really ripped...
This hotel was nice for our 1-night stay. You can park outside the hotel for 10-15 mins while checking in which was super convenient. The staff member who checked us in was friendly and helpful. We were provided with a map to find the hotel's parking due to the one-way streets. The hotel's parking is not attached to the hotel but not far away either. It is underground, safe and easily accessible. The...
Stayed here for two nights recently and found the location fantastic in downtown Victoria, the staff insanely lovey and helpful and the room cozy. Bed was super comfy and the pillow were nice and solid, not like the ones that just sink right through when you lay down. It was perfect for someone with acid reflux who needs to prop myself up from time to time. Had two great night’s sleep and didn’t...
