Stopped by and had a cocktail here and took photos of grounds, and inside was gorgeous. I'd love to come back and stay as I was on a cruise ship this trip. Great location! Can pick up shuttles here back to the cruise ship $8 one way pp. BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY. Also across the street is a great whale watching excursion, eateries, ect. Close walk to downtown & Parliament building.

We had an absolutely lovely and unforgettable stay at the Empress Hotel in Victoria. We stayed in one of the Gold level rooms, which is on the first floor, and features it’s own check-in desk. His was an incredible value for the price since we had access to the Gold Lounge which offered picturesque views of the bay, and the staff were amazing and helpful at every step. We had a fantastic stay! Rooms are beautiful, comfortable beds and we loved the Nepresso coffee maker. Service is exceptional. The location is so convenient and walkable. Some of the complaints on the google reviews are laughable. I’m impressed by the staff’s ability to give outstanding each and every interaction.

The location is brilliant. In the heart of downtown. Walking distance to the wharf. The rooms were spacious, and the staff were very friendly. They have an awesome bar in the hotel that open out towards the front of the property.

We have stayed at this hotel 5 times this year between May and August and have loved every single night. The staff are friendly, they remember your face, and your preferences! We always feel welcomed. The spa like environment creates a tranquil space that allows your mind and body to just relax. The relaxation pool and hot tubs are fantastic and with the 16+ age restriction the space is calm.

Overall was a good stay. There are a few things to note that we found were disappointing and inconvenient. There were no locks on the bathroom door which was weird. The microwave was "locked" during our three day stay which was super inconvenient. Another thing to note is that the TV only has paid channels and live tv. Beautiful property with an outstanding ocean view. The rooms are very comfortable, and each come equipped with a large bathtub and separate shower. The heated mineral pools are amazing. This is such a nice place to spend a romantic weekend. We stayed in the Emily Carr room, which has a jacuzzi tub and a wood burning fireplace in the same room. It's decorated in deep rich colours and has books about/by Emily Carr to read as you relax on the chaise lounge. I can't say enough wonderful things about this Inn. The decor was like something out of a movie or magazine and the staff were so nice and attentive. We stayed in the Emily Carr room, which is highly recommended. We were served incredible breakfast both mornings we were there. This is our home away from home whilst in Victoria. 6/5 stars if I could!

I recently stayed and attended a conference here at the Laurel. I was truly blown away with the positive experience. My room was exceptional with one of the best views in the city. Good hotel right at the center of everything! Lots of good restaurants and tourist places are near by. We were able to see the Victoria Day Parade from our room! Only disadvantage is you can hear traffic sound at night, if you are sensitive then book a room that doesn’t face the Main Street!

The hotel has really comfortable beds, awesome pillows, great water pressure, and atmosphere. There is a slight smell to the hotel that is not completely unpleasant. It kind of smells like old books. Excellent hotel right in the heart of downtown Victoria. Hotel was clean, had a neat restaurant/bar, bed was very comfy and bathroom floor was heated! Mai was very helpful checking me in and out....well I don't think she was checking me out (haha). Nonetheless, it was a great location that is walkable to literally everything you need or want. GREAT building. Visit an old English Club, but one that allows both genders in. I have not stayed in the guest rooms. The common areas are what makes this place special.

An impressive landmark, with rich heritage... truly beautiful building. Amenities were nice, and the location is amazing. Non members can book rooms here, might be a unique place to stay on your next visit to Victoria.

I went here for a work christmas party and nearly every part of the whole experience was amazing. Truly some of the best food I've had. BUT to be fully honest, the beef was not good at all. So chewy that if you went to take a bite of your beautiful sandwich that you just assembled, you wouldn't be able to pull away and you'd be stuck gnawing until something gives.
