Victoria, 721 Government Street 🧭 Map
This iconic property is definitely worth a visit, even if you aren’t staying there. Have a drink or meal at one of the excellent bars and restaurants
We also enjoyed high tea as well, which was an experience that my wife and I both wanted to check off on our bucket list. Overall, we had an amazing experience and we are both excited to come back again in the future
We had an absolutely lovely and unforgettable stay at the Empress Hotel in Victoria. We stayed in one of the Gold level rooms, which is on the first floor, and features it’s own check-in desk
His was an incredible value for the price since we had access to the Gold Lounge which offered picturesque views of the bay, and the staff were amazing and helpful at every step
The view of Victoria Harbour is fantastic, and the service is always friendly, professional and efficient. Don’t miss the sunset bagpiper (pictured here recovering from his performance at the bar)
A little pricey, but every once in a while, you deserve it! You can literally stay here for a few hours relaxing and talking because there are refills on the tea

The front desk staffs were super helpful too. I asked for toothbrush and paste set, as well as slippers. I was kindly given all the items I needed promptly. I used the swim pool in the morning before my 9 am meeting
Extremely comfortable rooms and overall a great time staying in the hotel the location was absolutely terrific, you are close to the parliament building the museum government street and the fishermen’s wharf
Almost everything you need to do is on 20 minutes walking distance from the hotel. And the view was absolutely stunning you can watch boats take off and sea planes land
It was really nice because no one was there when it opens at 8am. It was perfect little routine exercise for me. The walk to downtown was quite easy. I walked everywhere, didn't need to drive my car at all sight seeing
If you’re visiting Victoria could not recommend staying at the Inn at Laurel Point
I recently stayed and attended a conference here at the Laurel. I was truly blown away with the positive experience. My room was exceptional with one of the best views in the city

Oak Bay Marina Restaurant (5-10 min. walk away) offers buffet brunch on Sundays. Good selection of food with an amazing view. $33 per person. Read more →
We have stayed at this hotel 5 times this year between May and August and have loved every single night. The staff are friendly, they remember your face, and your preferences! We always feel welcomed
The spa like environment creates a tranquil space that allows your mind and body to just relax. The relaxation pool and hot tubs are fantastic and with the 16+ age restriction the space is calm
The pools are really nice, pretty small compared to how big it looks in the pictures and many of the chairs outside are reserved for people who booked in their spa which was inconvenient
One thing to note when going to Victoria is - many restaurants only open on the weekends and many food places close pretty early which we weren't aware of. The room was fairly clean and neat
Furthermore, I was disappointed to find that the hotel only provided three sets of robes and slippers for a room with three guests, but only two sets of toothbrushes and bath supplies

Victoria, 520 Menzies Street 🧭 Map
The complimentary breakfast was excellent, far better than what I had expected in comparison to other hotels. The staff was polite and helpful. All this for a very affordable price
Has a full kitchen in it, wasn't aware it would have that. The included breakfast is very complete and pretty tasty for what it is. Location is handy for taking the ferries and to parliament and the inner harbor
The location is perfect, close to all the tourist sites and restaurants. Breakfast had a good variety and was fresh. It's not upscale but fits the bill
Amazing breakfast (probably the best breakfast I had in a hotel so far that isn't 4-5 stars), accommodating and polite staff at the desk, and awesome free hot chocolate at the machine. No real complaints during my stay
Really enjoyed our trip to Victoria and this was a great place to stay. The room was fantastic the staff was great. I recommend this as a good place to stay with a reasonable price. The cooks did a great job as well
They will also hold your luggage while you are out and about. Not fancy, very few amenities, but a great value

Victoria, 4670 Elk Lake 🧭 Map
Having stayed there for several days over the past 5 years, I can admit it's an excellent, quite, clean and worthy choice. The staff will not bother you at all, always there to help you
The restaurant is great, it's called The Lakes and they have good breakfasts. The dinner is alright, but I like them mostly for breakfast/brunch. They can be really busy around noon, so the earlier the better.
The room was a little dated in regards to the furniture and carpeting. The serving staff, in contrast to the receptionists, were excellent! The food served was mediocre but I enjoyed the varied selection on the menu
The staff is wonderful & they even had a surprise doggie bag when we checked in with treats & poop bags with a case! The rooms are always super clean & the beds are amazing! My husband & I have stayed a few times as a little getaway & look forward to staying there again!
We had a room with outdoor access and they prepared it by covering the couch with a sheet and provided a spare towel for our 4 legged family member. It definitely made us feel welcome and happy to stay
Had a few glitches that were worked out immediately amazing friendly accommodating staff. Love the location. Easy to get to. Very quiet

It's our favorite go to spot in Victoria. The bigger suite is the Best!! Like a nice flat.. The ambiance is very stylish and cozy. Highly recommend over big chain hotels. :)
Good hotel right at the center of everything! Lots of good restaurants and tourist places are near by
Great hotel! Amenities and welcome cheese tray amazing. Don't miss the cocktails! Breakfast awesome as well
The hotel has really comfortable beds, awesome pillows, great water pressure, and atmosphere. There is a slight smell to the hotel that is not completely unpleasant. It kind of smells like old books
We were able to see the Victoria Day Parade from our room! Only disadvantage is you can hear traffic sound at night, if you are sensitive then book a room that doesn’t face the Main Street!
Excellent hotel right in the heart of downtown Victoria. Hotel was clean, had a neat restaurant/bar, bed was very comfy and bathroom floor was heated! Mai was very helpful checking me in and out

The dining room service was absolutely excellent. The food was better than I remember. I had the Ceasar salad and for an entree, the salmon, both excellent. The bathrooms are clean and well provisioned
Beautiful old building, looks like it could be the set of a movie. Rooms are fine, no issues, not as pretty as the common area of the building. Good service. Breakfast is delicious with plenty of options.
Took a tour as we are considering joining the club. Our tour guide, Danielle, was friendly while being very informative and helpful. An impressive landmark, with rich heritage
I went here for a work christmas party and nearly every part of the whole experience was amazing. Truly some of the best food I've had. BUT to be fully honest, the beef was not good at all
I hadn't been in years, but went for dinner tonight to celebrate a friend's birthday. The building is absolutely lovely. The staff were helpful and welcoming from door to table
GREAT building. Visit an old English Club, but one that allows both genders in. I have not stayed in the guest rooms. The common areas are what makes this place special.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this Inn. The decor was like something out of a movie or magazine and the staff were so nice and attentive. We stayed in the Emily Carr room, which is highly recommended
Our room had a fire place and a jacuzzi tub with all the comforts including a bottle of champagne. The breakfasts were incredible! So much care and thought went into it and it was beautifully presented
It felt very regal but also as if you were visiting your grandparents home. Very cozy, inviting and good for the soul
The Inn is very centrally located and is a short walk to the ocean or to downtown. The breakfasts are first class and the afternoon wine and snacks in the library room were a pleasant surprise
They even went out of their way to cater to our dietary preferences. Five star breakfasts!!
It is an older home and some things need to be updated and fixed, but overall it’s very charming
We spent nine nights at the Beaconsfield in. Our host upgraded us to a larger room as the room was not being used. The staff was very friendly and most accommodating

James Bay Inn Hotel, Suites & Cottage
Victoria, 270 Government Street 🧭 Map
Beautifully kept historic building. Location is excellent! The staff all love the hotel and are wonderful to talk to. Rooms are nicer, cleaner and better than some of the big hotels
This place was recommended to me by a good friend and we were not disappointed. Close to walking distance of downtown. Staff friendly and the rooms clean, cozy and very comfortable
The building itself is full of character as it's one of the older buildings in Victoria, and it's also one of the most haunted buildings in Victoria 😉
I'm definitely making James Bay Inn a more regular place to visit
The menu is fantastic, they have a great beer selection and amazing prices. The staff were warm and welcoming and very friendly
Yes, Emily Carr had lived here and died here. Fascinating to be a part of such an amazing part of Canadian history
Plumbing is modern though but I wonder why they could not supply a kettle or coffee machine in the room. The pub was surprisingly full of people when we visited in the evening for a drink

Victoria, 3110 Douglas Street 🧭 Map
Great bed, bathroom shower head was too low but worked fine. We enjoyed the hot tub. Would stay again. seemed spotless. Very good service.
This place is awesome! So much thought has gone into so many things that are important these days
The staff is fun and friendly and our room had a balcony. And there is bus stop across the street where you can catch a bus to Buchart Gardens for just $2. We plan to stay here every time we visit Victoria
We were particularly impressed with but being so bike friendly, no single use cups in the room, refillable shower stuff and 24/7 coffee and tea at reception. Staff were unbelievably helpful and friendly
It's across the street from a mall and food court and half a block to Denny's, KFC and Starbucks. The hotel is cute, clean and has free bike and skateboard rentals
The vibe and decor are so fun and guest centered. Really focused on ensuring we had a comfortable stay and every detail was thought out and anticipated

Marketa's Bed and Breakfast
Victoria, 239 Superior Street 🧭 Map
Very nice experience at Marketa's B&B in the honeymoon bedroom! The location is great (downtown 5 min walk from the legislative assembly), the rooms are spacious, the decoration is well chosen, the breakfast is delicious and homemade, and the bed is comfortable
Marketa's is in an excellent location, and worked out well for me. Pleasant and relaxing ambience, laid back but professional and efficient staff. A great combination!
The rooms are clean and beds so comfortable! And the breakfast which is included with each stay is sooo delicious! Marketa as well as her staff serving the breakfast in the mornings are all very hospitable! I will be back for sure!
It was a great cozy place, just a few steps away from Victoria downtown and many places of interest. Staff was super friendly. The breakfast was included, and it was delicious. Enjoyed our stay very much
Plus they included fruit, muffins, coffee, tea, juice and all with a smile from our kind host!
- Within walking distance of all the attractions
- And much cheaper than any hotel! Amazing!
Some local B & B's servings are too big, while some others don't offer a big enough to carry you through the morning. Marketa has developed a menu that offers delicious suggestions
