Victoria, 721 Government Street 🧭 Map
All kinds of sanitary products are available, and it feels like home! The most praiseworthy thing is the big bed, which is not only clean and tidy, but also gives you a "weightless" feeling when sleeping on it! The hotel is located in the seaside harbor, surrounded by British shops and various restaurants and bars, giving people the illusion of going to Europe
The staff are very nice, and everything is clean. As a clean freak, I would definitely choose this hotel if I come to Victoria again.
Spacious and clean, perfect sunset harbor view from the window but toothbrush and toothpaste were not provided
Although the building is old, the room is very clean and bright, and the decoration is very tasteful
The manager didn’t call me the next day, not until the day after. The manager reported that the best they could offer me was a 20% discount on another service
The environment is first-class, in the heart of the old city port area, across the street from the city's landmark Parliament Building

Oak Bay Marina Restaurant (5-10 min. walk away) offers buffet brunch on Sundays. Good selection of food with an amazing view. $33 per person. Read more →
We have stayed at this hotel 5 times this year between May and August and have loved every single night. The staff are friendly, they remember your face, and your preferences! We always feel welcomed
The spa like environment creates a tranquil space that allows your mind and body to just relax. The relaxation pool and hot tubs are fantastic and with the 16+ age restriction the space is calm
The pools are really nice, pretty small compared to how big it looks in the pictures and many of the chairs outside are reserved for people who booked in their spa which was inconvenient
One thing to note when going to Victoria is - many restaurants only open on the weekends and many food places close pretty early which we weren't aware of. The room was fairly clean and neat
Furthermore, I was disappointed to find that the hotel only provided three sets of robes and slippers for a room with three guests, but only two sets of toothbrushes and bath supplies

James Bay Inn Hotel, Suites & Cottage
Victoria, 270 Government Street 🧭 Map
Beautifully kept historic building. Location is excellent! The staff all love the hotel and are wonderful to talk to. Rooms are nicer, cleaner and better than some of the big hotels
This place was recommended to me by a good friend and we were not disappointed. Close to walking distance of downtown. Staff friendly and the rooms clean, cozy and very comfortable
The building itself is full of character as it's one of the older buildings in Victoria, and it's also one of the most haunted buildings in Victoria 😉
I'm definitely making James Bay Inn a more regular place to visit
The menu is fantastic, they have a great beer selection and amazing prices. The staff were warm and welcoming and very friendly
Yes, Emily Carr had lived here and died here. Fascinating to be a part of such an amazing part of Canadian history
Plumbing is modern though but I wonder why they could not supply a kettle or coffee machine in the room. The pub was surprisingly full of people when we visited in the evening for a drink

The service and food is terrific here! One of the best Sunday brunches in Victoria!
The hotel is dated, however, it is well kept, clean, and friendly service. The breakfast was very nice and a great location
Super good location, which is just next to the Legislative Assembly. We got a room with a very good view. We enjoyed the breakfast very much to start our day.
The staff was wonderful, very approachable, and welcoming. The location is excellent, well kept and clean room. There was a slight problem with the room we had, but it was all taken care of by staff name Chelshe
Great Location in Downtown! Very Clean and Comfortable Bedding!
Always exceeds my expectations and friendly, helpful staff.

GREAT building. Visit an old English Club, but one that allows both genders in. I have not stayed in the guest rooms. The common areas are what makes this place special.
Took a tour as we are considering joining the club. Our tour guide, Danielle, was friendly while being very informative and helpful. An impressive landmark, with rich heritage
I went here for a work christmas party and nearly every part of the whole experience was amazing. Truly some of the best food I've had. BUT to be fully honest, the beef was not good at all
I hadn't been in years, but went for dinner tonight to celebrate a friend's birthday. The building is absolutely lovely. The staff were helpful and welcoming from door to table
In a word - the Union Club is wonderful. Serene. Social. Super special. The affiliates worldwide make travel - or the home ground in Vancouver even better.
The place is steeped in the elegant history of a bygone era and worth a visit just to stare up at the carved wood paneling and gorgeous vintage glass

It's unfortunate that the parking is limited and the neighborhood is a bit sketchy. The hotel does have a good security system in place to combat the neighborhood issues. The staff are very welcoming and friendly
The hotel has really comfortable beds, awesome pillows, great water pressure, and atmosphere. There is a slight smell to the hotel that is not completely unpleasant. It kind of smells like old books
We were able to see the Victoria Day Parade from our room! Only disadvantage is you can hear traffic sound at night, if you are sensitive then book a room that doesn’t face the Main Street!
close to shopping and food downtown, but also close to homeless sleeping in doorways and wandering around. at the right price, say under $175 a night, not a bad option
Room was decent enough, but nothing special or nearing luxury. the problem is you are paying luxury prices in summer season for a clean but budget style hotel
but with the high season rates you are getting really ripped off. might as well spend more to get more at that point. front desk staff was nice and friendly

Best hotel in Victoria. Boutique, retro, friendly. And if you need a place that's kid-friendly, stop Googling and just book a darn room here already. Water slide, ping pong, Wii. All-around pleasure.
This place is awesome! So much thought has gone into so many things that are important these days
The staff is fun and friendly and our room had a balcony. And there is bus stop across the street where you can catch a bus to Buchart Gardens for just $2. We plan to stay here every time we visit Victoria
We were particularly impressed with but being so bike friendly, no single use cups in the room, refillable shower stuff and 24/7 coffee and tea at reception. Staff were unbelievably helpful and friendly
It's across the street from a mall and food court and half a block to Denny's, KFC and Starbucks. The hotel is cute, clean and has free bike and skateboard rentals
The vibe and decor are so fun and guest centered. Really focused on ensuring we had a comfortable stay and every detail was thought out and anticipated
