Fairmont Empress, Victoria1 / 50
9.0
Victoria, 721 Government St 🧭 Map
The environment is first-class, in the heart of the old city port area, across the street from the city's landmark Parliament Building. However, the facilities are a bit old, especially the air conditioner, which is a bit noisy. Some waiters have good service attitudes.
Spacious and clean, perfect sunset harbor view from the window but toothbrush and toothpaste were not provided
Although the building is old, the room is very clean and bright, and the decoration is very tasteful. All kinds of sanitary products are available, and it feels like home! The most praiseworthy thing is the big bed, which is not only clean and tidy, but also gives you a "weightless" feeling when sleeping on it! The hotel is located in the seaside harbor, surrounded by British shops and various restaurants...
The staff are very nice, and everything is clean. As a clean freak, I would definitely choose this hotel if I come to Victoria again.
Fairmont seems to be a luxurious five star hotel. Nevertheless it’s a bit over-expected. The room is very small, and the toilet can only be used by one single person each time, which is very inconvenient if you go with young kids. High tea quality is unexpectedly low, the environment is good but the staff are not enough. The food is simply not delicate for such a renowned five star restaurant.

Great location, clean rooms. Got the signature harbor view room and view is as described.
The room was a bit cramped, lacking a second bedside table, and the bathroom was very tight. The bed and bedding were excellent. It is nice to find a choice of thick and thinner pillows. The Courtyard cafe needs more seating. The parking fee was high. A few negatives but they are mostly outweighed by the excellent downtown location within walking distance of everything we had planned to see and...
Overall very good stay and will definitely check in again thanks
A quick staycation to relax and soak in the hot tub and float in the pool. Great place to recharge the batteries before starting a new job on Monday.
The grat stay . The only negative point was that it didn't have a breakfast buffet.
Top notch service. Corner suite on the 6th floor had a killer view of the harbor and parliament building. Walking distance from restaurant and the BC museum. Really appreciated having a sitting space separate from the bedroom.  Everything was very nice but room not newly remodeled.  Nonetheless,  looking forward to an opportunity to stay there again.  Major flaw was the pool, sauna area was part...

Great service. Asked for a crib and it was at the room before I unloaded my bags of car. Later asked for a microwave and it was a the room in few minutes. The only concern is the gym.. The gym is very poor. I wish the hotel would have heavier dumbbells (maximum weight there is 50lb),- for example, couple adjustable 90lb dumbbells, and one universal cable machine would be great.
best part during my stay were the staff and the location. Their washrooms really need upgrade, room looked modern but washroom took me to the 80s. one of the elevators weren’t working during my entire stay-wed to Saturday, had to wait for so long
While this is a Marriott, (so you kind of expect a "chain" experience), the staff here make all the difference and take the time to look after guests. The manager was present and very attentive too. Traveling with dogs can be problematic and stressful, but they even had suggestions for local eateries that welcome dogs on the patio... The location is also a perfect blend of central yet quiet, with safe...
Cera from the front desk was beyond welcoming, warm, and thoughtful. She was knowledgeable of the area and made great suggestions that accommodated our kids needs/ interests
This property is located close to downtown and the harbour, making it quick and easy to walk to or catch a bus to our destinations. Service started at the front door with a smile and continued with front desk staff always available and friendly. The bed here was probably the most comfortable one I've ever slept on in a hotel. Temperature was easy to control and noise levels were great as the property...
Great hotel, very nice rooms, excellent room service. Overall, this is a new fave for my coworkers who travel here on business very frequently, 6 of us were staying here in 6 separate rooms. The location is ideal & convenient to everything. This my 1st stay & it was great. Only thing I didn't like was that my pillows smelled like the bald head of an old man, weird & gross. My room was not cleaned. I found out in the afternoon and informed the hotel, but they did not tell me that the cleaner had gone off duty. I had to go to the front desk to ask for new towels. The service was zero.
Very convenient location in the city center, great view from the room window
The hotel facilities are average and clean. Disposable facilities such as slippers, combs, toothbrushes, etc. are not provided. There is no bottled water or kettle. It is wise to upgrade to a view room for an extra fee. The only bright spot is that the hotel is in an excellent location, facing the street view in the city center.
It's quite clean, and it's very convenient to walk on the beach. The sea view is also nice. But if you drive a large off-road vehicle, the hotel parking lot cannot park there, and you have to park in a public parking lot some distance from the hotel. Overall, it feels good.
Extremely comfortable rooms and overall a great time staying in the hotel the location was absolutely terrific, you are close to the parliament building the museum government street and the fishermen’s wharf. Almost everything you need to do is on 20 minutes walking distance from the hotel. And the view was absolutely stunning you can watch boats take off and sea planes land. If you’re visiting Victoria...
We wanted to love our stay, but unfortunately we were disappointed. We chose this hotel because it was our first get away as parents without our daughter, and thought it sounded lovely with the views and amenities. We stayed two nights. Came here for a wedding. The room was perfect. Spacious and clean and had everything I needed. The hotel is an easy walk to anything one would need and has a great restaurant option if you want something close.
This hotel is AMAZING! Hotel and Rooms are very very clean and modern, staff is extremely friendly and helpful and hotel is so close to everything downtown while also providing enough distance (across a bridge) to feel your car and yourself are both secure. Views from harbour view rooms are amazing. I stayed here for 4 nights in a harbour view room 812 and was very impressed with this hotel and staff...
This is far from a 4 star hotel. Probably 2.5 star is a more accurate rating. Toilet takes forever to fill, shower head is in the middle of the bath tub shooting straight out to the middle of the bathroom. Towels are old and paper thin. Air conditioner wasn’t working properly. Was told if the fix didn’t work could open the window for nighttime cooling. Staff is good and service prompt. This Marriott...
Love staying here. Been coming here for years, even before Marriott took over as owners. Rooms are clean, well appointed and stocked, we were in a newly renovated room and it was very nicely done. Great location on the water with a short walk over the bridge to shops and restaurants or a fun water taxi ride, if you prefer.
I have to rave about Delta Hotel. Everything here is just perfect and brings so much happiness. The hotel service is exceptionally attentive, and the staff is incredibly friendly. Since we arrived at the hotel before 11 am, after taking the earliest ferry to Victoria, the front desk (a gentle lady with glasses and black hair) kindly prioritized our check-in, promising to accommodate us as soon as a...

Oak Bay Beach Hotel is an excellent place to stay. The hotel is very clean and well maintained, which made the experience comfortable and relaxing. Very Good Hotel, My wife and I enjoyed the hotel. Will be back again.
A short , but very pleasant stay. The Snug Pub is excellent!
Not a 5-star place but okay. Spa and pool facilities were partially closed which was extremely inconvenient. They charge extra fee for onsite self-parking which is not reasonable. Staff is polite and friendly but not everyone. Our room was clean and fabulous. Restaurants are small and overpriced. My personal impression: 3/5.
old fashion Very good! The SPA faces the sea, the restaurant in the hotel is not expensive and the taste is good.

Service and food was excellent. Had breakfasts, a dinner and one night just drinks at the lounge and all were great.
great weekend in Victoria - this is by far the best hotel we've stayed in for the price in Vic. Location is perfect, the staff at the front is amazing and the restaurant (Blue Crab) is great. Really enjoyed our overnight stay. Booked 3 rooms as our family came over and we all enjoyed the hotel. The bidet was unusual but we ended up liking it! Pleasant folk working here, very close to the Harbour. Very clean and inviting. Lost one star bc, at Can$500 per night, if I ask for a noon check out and housekeeping comes in before 11- there's a communication issue. I didn't appreciate that.
Very comfortable place to stay. Perfect location for visiting Victoria, as everything is within walking distance. Staff was incredibly helpful, courteous, and personable, to ensure our stay was the best possible. Room upgrade not necessary as the view is not what we were lead to believe.
Fantastic upscale hotel in Victoria downtown. The room was spotlessly clean, even though it was a dog friendly room. Everything inside the room just made sense from a large TV to Dyson hair dryer to some tea bags from a renowned Chinatown tea room. Location wise it was really easy to reach everything on foot. The valet and maid services were very efficient. It would have been even greater if there...
Loved this hotel! Every little detail felt really thought thru to ensure guests felt pampered and relaxed. I usually don’t like to hang out in a hotel room but as it turned out, we did and it was great. The room felt so clean and fresh. All the amenities were available with quality products. Great place to stay in Victoria! Friendly staff, highly clean rooms and fancy toiletries! Bath robe is worth having, should have bought it. Very convenient location to walk around the town, places to visit. And they have a charging station for electric vehicles. I used paid valet parking.
Spacious room, well furnished, with a seating area. Plenty of space, and room for clothes. Nice large windows. Coffee, tea and hot cider available most of the day. Excellent location. A very short walk to the harbor, in one direction, and a multitude of restaurants in the other direction.

This was the second time I stayed at this location. The rooms are clean and the service at the front desk is 5 star. This is a pet friendly accommodation however be advised there is a fee associated. There is a large park near the water just across the road and plenty of parking. But no space if you are towing a trailer.
This was the second time our group booked this particular hotel. We found the rooms to be roomy and clean and the fact that it had a kitchenette was great! Can't beat the location - close to where we needed to get to with great trails for walking. Definitely will return again!
Beautifully landscaped place, and very nice staff here. It's a gem with views of DT. Kitchenette suites available at reasonable prices. The prices do fluctuate depending how busy and the season. The room is a motel room, it was clean and as expected, but nothing fancy. But what puts this place over the top is the service. The location was very convenient for my purposes and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
We had a great experience with this location. The kids loved the rubber ducks (and extras were provided so each child got one!) and the doggie bags were a nice touch. This was truly the most pet friendly place we've ever stayed at. Thank you!
Cannot say enough about this wonderful place! Actually, it’s the people and their limitless kindness who made it a place to remember. I was in town for my dog’s surgery at the nearby animal hospital. Despite a rough start, we ended up enjoying our stay at this hotel. We arrived on the late ferry. So, we got to the hotel around 11pm. They had our room. But, it was on the western side of the hotel, above a nightclub. The noise was so load when we walked into the room that we went back downstairs to get a new room. We stayed here knowing we'd be doing some walking so the location wasn't a huge deal to us. If you're not super mobile, I'd suggest a hotel closer to the wharf. Very flexible with early check-in. Reservation online was smooth and required no advance payment. The room was exactly like the pictures. The fridge was very useful but set too cold (freezer-like). The coffee set was amazing as was the shower. Only the heater/ventilation system was too noisy to my liking. The location was perfect and was only 10min walk to get to downtown Victoria.
Newly upgraded, still have some finishing touches to do. Only thing I didn't like was the kurig coffee thing, it was nasty coffee. Service was great, prices great. Will be staying here again
The “City Center Hotel” is a pretty good hotel near downtown of Victoria. The room was clean and contained a small kitchen. As so many buildings, the rooms were not sound-proofed and the hot water supply was not stable (it was fluctuating while showering). The rooms were exceptionally clean with housekeeping being very attentive and friendly. The views were very nice. The service was excellent, but the breakfast was willfully meager and disappointing. Considering the other hotels in the area that serve excellent breakfast there's no excuse for the repetitive and unappetizing breakfast that was served in the six days I stayed there.
