Victoria, 1175 Beach Drive 🧭 Map
We have stayed at this hotel 5 times this year between May and August and have loved every single night. The staff are friendly, they remember your face, and your preferences! We always feel welcomed. The spa like environment creates a tranquil space that allows your mind and body to just relax. The relaxation pool and hot tubs are fantastic and with the 16+ age restriction the space is calm.
Overall was a good stay. There are a few things to note that we found were disappointing and inconvenient.
There were no locks on the bathroom door which was weird. The microwave was "locked" during our three day stay which was super inconvenient. Another thing to note is that the TV only has paid channels and live tv. There is no option to log into your Netflix or YouTube which is unfortunate as...
My recent stay at the Oak Bay Beach Hotel was unfortunately not as enjoyable as I had hoped. While the hotel has some positive features such as the spacious and clean rooms and friendly staff, there were some limitations that detracted from the overall experience.
One major inconvenience was that the main restaurant was only open from Friday to Sunday, which meant that there were limited dining options...
Beautiful property with an outstanding ocean view. The rooms are very comfortable, and each come equipped with a large bathtub and separate shower. The heated mineral pools are amazing. The service was excellent throughout our stay. Everyone from the valet, front desk, housekeeping, pool staff, etc. was very friendly and helpful.
My husband and I came for our wedding anniversary to celebrate one night in the Oak Bay Hotel. I've heard so much about it that i decided to try it out. Everything from the moment we stepped foot on the property until we left was absolutely exquisite 👌 ✨️. They provide towels, flip-flops, and a robe in the room. They provide cold water in the pool area to drink and towels for the pool. The mineral...
Absolutely everything here was luxury and comfort. Gracious and professional staff. Clean and hospitable. Room service is Lovely and they check in on you at least twice a day if you need anything. The restaurants in the hotel are delicious albeit expensive. The pool is relaxing although many jets are not working. Cozy high quality robes and cardboard slippers for lazying around. Kitchen in the room...

Great service. Asked for a crib and it was at the room before I unloaded my bags of car. Later asked for a microwave and it was a the room in few minutes.
The only concern is the gym.. The gym is very poor. I wish the hotel would have heavier dumbbells (maximum weight there is 50lb),- for example, couple adjustable 90lb dumbbells, and one universal cable machine would be great.
best part during my stay were the staff and the location. Their washrooms really need upgrade, room looked modern but washroom took me to the 80s. one of the elevators weren’t working during my entire stay-wed to Saturday, had to wait for so long
While this is a Marriott, (so you kind of expect a "chain" experience), the staff here make all the difference and take the time to look after guests. The manager was present and very attentive too. Traveling with dogs can be problematic and stressful, but they even had suggestions for local eateries that welcome dogs on the patio... The location is also a perfect blend of central yet quiet, with safe...
Cera from the front desk was beyond welcoming, warm, and thoughtful. She was knowledgeable of the area and made great suggestions that accommodated our kids needs/ interests
This property is located close to downtown and the harbour, making it quick and easy to walk to or catch a bus to our destinations.
Service started at the front door with a smile and continued with front desk staff always available and friendly.
The bed here was probably the most comfortable one I've ever slept on in a hotel. Temperature was easy to control and noise levels were great as the property...
Great hotel, very nice rooms, excellent room service. Overall, this is a new fave for my coworkers who travel here on business very frequently, 6 of us were staying here in 6 separate rooms. The location is ideal & convenient to everything. This my 1st stay & it was great. Only thing I didn't like was that my pillows smelled like the bald head of an old man, weird & gross. Change the pillows, or wash...

Good hotel right at the center of everything! Lots of good restaurants and tourist places are near by. We were able to see the Victoria Day Parade from our room! Only disadvantage is you can hear traffic sound at night, if you are sensitive then book a room that doesn’t face the Main Street!
The hotel has really comfortable beds, awesome pillows, great water pressure, and atmosphere. There is a slight smell to the hotel that is not completely unpleasant. It kind of smells like old books. It's unfortunate that the parking is limited and the neighborhood is a bit sketchy. The hotel does have a good security system in place to combat the neighborhood issues. The staff are very welcoming...
Room was decent enough, but nothing special or nearing luxury.... the problem is you are paying luxury prices in summer season for a clean but budget style hotel..... close to shopping and food downtown, but also close to homeless sleeping in doorways and wandering around..... at the right price, say under $175 a night, not a bad option ... but with the high season rates you are getting really ripped...
This hotel was nice for our 1-night stay. You can park outside the hotel for 10-15 mins while checking in which was super convenient. The staff member who checked us in was friendly and helpful. We were provided with a map to find the hotel's parking due to the one-way streets. The hotel's parking is not attached to the hotel but not far away either. It is underground, safe and easily accessible. The...
Stayed here for two nights recently and found the location fantastic in downtown Victoria, the staff insanely lovey and helpful and the room cozy. Bed was super comfy and the pillow were nice and solid, not like the ones that just sink right through when you lay down. It was perfect for someone with acid reflux who needs to prop myself up from time to time. Had two great night’s sleep and didn’t...

The location is perfect. 1 block from the government street. 1 block from Chinatown. The staff often texted us checking in on us to see if everything is alright. The room was great. However, the floors (not carpeted) were super dirty. I do not believe they have ever mopped it. They should have provided slippers. We ended up wearing our shoes the entire time in the room. Other than that everything...
Despite a rough start, we ended up enjoying our stay at this hotel.
We arrived on the late ferry. So, we got to the hotel around 11pm. They had our room. But, it was on the western side of the hotel, above a nightclub. The noise was so load when we walked into the room that we went back downstairs to get a new room. After 30 minutes of haggling, hey did accommodate us and moved us to a larger room...
We stayed here knowing we'd be doing some walking so the location wasn't a huge deal to us. If you're not super mobile, I'd suggest a hotel closer to the wharf. It's really just a 10 min. walk to the waterfront if you're going straight there. Ruby's next door is a great place for breakfast and prices are reasonable. The rooms are on the smaller side (NYC size) but they are well appointed and freshly...
A gem of a hotel if you can manage a little bit of noise. My husband was working out of town in Victoria so my son and I decided to tag along and get a vacation out of it at the same time. The hotel location is amazing. It is walking distance to basically everything. It is located on a busier street so you can hear the road noise in your room. The hotel is aware of this and kindly provides earplugs...
We checked in on Friday early evening, staff at the front desk were superb, Steven and Brandon texted me to see how things were going, I appreciated that.
On Saturday we requested to change rooms because our room 526 was on top of the night club and we had a crappy night due to noise and luckily they moved us to 501! Thank you!!!! To the staff working Saturday morning!!!
Hotel staff is super welcoming...
Smack in downtown, which is great! Room that was given to us was clean and neat (King + Sofa). Noise insulation from street was also decent. Restrooms were clean and furnished with the basic amenities. The staff was polite and quick. Also thing to note is that parking is Valet and could take 15 minutes or so for them to get your car out. Price paid for the room was slightly higher than expected, but...

Had a few glitches that were worked out immediately amazing friendly accommodating staff. Love the location. Easy to get to. Very quiet
The staff is wonderful & they even had a surprise doggie bag when we checked in with treats & poop bags with a case! The rooms are always super clean & the beds are amazing! My husband & I have stayed a few times as a little getaway & look forward to staying there again!
Having stayed there for several days over the past 5 years, I can admit it's an excellent, quite, clean and worthy choice. The staff will not bother you at all, always there to help you. I enjoyed their free-for-all jacuzzi and pool. Nice place near Elk Lake and Saanich. Bus stop almost outside.
The receptionist staff were not welcoming whatsoever. I wanted to ask a quick question but was left waiting to the point where I decided to walk away. I attended a professional event in the banquet hall. The room was a little dated in regards to the furniture and carpeting. The serving staff, in contrast to the receptionists, were excellent! The food served was mediocre but I enjoyed the varied selection...
Had a great experience here and I've never seen a hotel so accommodating to pets. We had a room with outdoor access and they prepared it by covering the couch with a sheet and provided a spare towel for our 4 legged family member. It definitely made us feel welcome and happy to stay.
The restaurant is great, it's called The Lakes and they have good breakfasts. The dinner is alright, but I like them mostly for breakfast/brunch. They can be really busy around noon, so the earlier the better.

I spent a week in Victoria in May with my husband, and we stayed at the Accent Inn on Maple street. The service was impeccable and there is communication everywhere as to what amenities are available, who to contact and although we didn't need service, I felt the staff would be very attentive to any need. The room was clean, and cleaned well during our stay, and the burger restaurant on site was...
The room is a motel room, it was clean and as expected, but nothing fancy. But what puts this place over the top is the service. Staff were all incredibly friendly, accommodating, and willing to go above and beyond. Accent Inns offers free bike rentals for guests as well. Location is good, a short drive or convenient bus ride to downtown Victoria.
The location was very convenient for my purposes and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
We had a great experience with this location. The kids loved the rubber ducks (and extras were provided so each child got one!) and the doggie bags were a nice touch. This was truly the most pet friendly place we've ever stayed at. Thank you!
Cannot say enough about this wonderful place! Actually, it’s the people and their limitless kindness who made it a place to remember. I was in town for my dog’s surgery at the nearby animal hospital. From contactless check in, personalized notes in my room, constant offers of help to make things easier, to inquiring about my dog’s status. I have never stayed anywhere with such amazing customer...
The room was clean and very comfortable, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful! The duck theming throughout the property was quirky, and definitely appreciated. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job, and I was most impressed that this property offers a "medical rate" which helped us out financially.

It is old and careworn, the air vents are very loud and the coffee station wasn't stocked in our room. The pool is tiny, but there, same as the fitness room. But we booked it for the location which was phenomenal. And that was the point. We did really like that they had coffee available in the lobby.
Had a 4 night stay. Nice comfortable room, though it wasn't serviced while we were there. I guess we could have requested it. They apparently were short staffed so didn't see a need to ask. Reception staff were helpful and check in was pretty quick. Breakfast was available and though pretty basic did the job and the staff were very friendly.
I and my friends wanted to thank how grateful we were to the Male receptionist who was on shift on June 18th at around 12 midnight. We came all the way from Vancouver, I and my friends were looking for a hotel in Victoria Downtown. We had already searched for 3 hotels and all were full and it was already late at night, this kind Man in Quality Inn hotel was really sorry that there were no available...
For the excellent location, big room, free coffee/ tea / water (a cup), friendly staffs, accessible to bus or ferry connector, etc. This 2 star hotel/ Inn is definitely a keeper on my list if I ever visit Victoria. Of course, just need to aware this is a kid and pet friendly place and therefore it could be noisy. I would recommend this hotel/Inn to anyone who interested to visit Victoria.
I really like this hotel. Rooms are clean, the staff are friendly and it's in a great location. My only issue is it's loud. Walls are paper thin. If you're a deep sleeper or wear ear plugs you'll be ok. My last stay there were a group of guys in their 20s on my floor. I had a feeling it would be a long night. Needless to say it was very loud around 3am and the front desk needed to be called. I'm sure...
Worth to point out this is a 3 stars hotel. Was not expecting too many. The facilities are kind of old and small. Low felling room and easy to hear anyone walking on the top floor. Gated car parking- $12 per nights

Close walk to downtown & Parliament building.
We had an absolutely lovely and unforgettable stay at the Empress Hotel in Victoria. We stayed in one of the Gold level rooms, which is on the first floor, and features it’s own check-in desk. His was an incredible value for the price since we had access to the Gold Lounge which offered picturesque views of the bay, and the staff were amazing and helpful at every step. We also enjoyed high tea as well...
This iconic property is definitely worth a visit, even if you aren’t staying there. Have a drink or meal at one of the excellent bars and restaurants. The view of Victoria Harbour is fantastic, and the service is always friendly, professional and efficient. Don’t miss the sunset bagpiper (pictured here recovering from his performance at the bar). Also seriously consider experiencing their High Tea...
I’ve been in awe of the Empress since I was a kid. It seemed to me to be the epitome of Victoria. I was so excited to have the opportunity to stay there this month. However, it will most likely be the first and last time I stay there. For the amount of money one spends to stay at the Empress, there aren’t really additional perks or amenities to justify the price tag, aside from the beautiful historic...
We had a fantastic stay! Rooms are beautiful, comfortable beds and we loved the Nepresso coffee maker. Service is exceptional. The location is so convenient and walkable.
Some of the complaints on the google reviews are laughable. I’m impressed by the staff’s ability to give outstanding each and every interaction.

The interior feels newlly refurbished, the toilet is so clean and modern. And the bed maybe one of the most comfortable one I've stayed on. A really high quality hotel room.
Location is impeccable. Minutes away from all the great spots in Victoria.
This staff was super responsive and kind. The room was a good size and very clean. The pool was perfect for families and because it only got to about 4ft, families were able to spread out and not be on top of each other. The location cannot be beat- it is a very doable walking distance from the Clipper and many of the attractions. My 6 year old described it as fancy and old-school. 😂
Great place, close to everything, great room service (after asking for it), great bar, great food.
But it was strange to check into a 4.5 star hotel and be told our room did not include daily linen service for our three night stay. I’m not sure why? We eventually called room service and they were happy to provide the service.
We've been coming to Victoria with our family for the past 6+ years. For the past 3 years, we've been staying at Hotel Grand Pacific. There are many choices of hotels in the James Bay area, but HGP is probably the best bang for your buck in terms of quality, service, and location. Fantastic breakfast every day. And enough cannot be said about the service - warm, friendly, and personal at all times. We can't wait to come back.
The Abigail hotel was a pretty unique experience.
It’s a charming place, serviced by friendly staff and filled with pleasant surprises. Rooms are comfortable, well-kept, and of course, clean. While it comes off as rustic, it feels like it has been recently renovated. There’s an attention to detail that doesn’t go unnoticed.

A truly classic British style hotel. The room was beautiful with a very comfortable bed and really clean. There were two sets of stairs though! My wife and I had a wonderful stay this weekend at Abigail's Hotel. The location is very central and convenient. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and have everything you need. Pretty good. Their Internet connection is a bit of a pain in the butt to connect to. They should just include parking in their rates. You either get to pay for valet parking or find parking somewhere on the streets.
Really enjoyed our stay. Hotel is clean, fresh, and newly remodeled. Very quiet. Great location. 2nd time to stay there and will be back! Completely recommend.
Amazing staff and great hotel. The rooms are beautiful. We had a room on the 17th floor (top) with a balcony and it was just phenomenal. The only part we didn’t love about our stay was that there was no video on demand on the tv. This was a minor amenity...
Very good service. We were originally placed in a room that was next to a small baby who would cry frequently. When we asked politely to move they accommodated us immediately. This is our home away from home whilst in Victoria. 6/5 stars if I could!
We spent nine nights at the Beaconsfield in. The room was very spacious. Our host upgraded us to a larger room as the room was not being used. The staff was very friendly and most accommodating. The Inn is very centrally located and is a short walk to the ocean or to downtown. The breakfasts are first class and the afternoon wine and snacks in the library room were a pleasant surprise. We will definitely...

Extremely comfortable rooms and overall a great time staying in the hotel the location was absolutely terrific, you are close to the parliament building the museum government street and the fishermen’s wharf. Almost everything you need to do is on 20 minutes walking distance from the hotel. And the view was absolutely stunning you can watch boats take off and sea planes land. If you’re visiting Victoria...
We wanted to love our stay, but unfortunately we were disappointed. We chose this hotel because it was our first get away as parents without our daughter, and thought it sounded lovely with the views and amenities.
We stayed two nights. The room had a great view, but the room itself was dated. We also weren’t told at check in that there was no housekeeping for those who stay less than three nights...
Amazing location, feels like the sea planes are going to land in your room if you get the right one! Service was excellent and easy to walk along thr coastal path to Fisherman's wharf or the other way to central Victoria. Great place.
I recently stayed and attended a conference here at the Laurel. I was truly blown away with the positive experience. My room was exceptional with one of the best views in the city. All staff went above and beyond being super friendly and receptive. The food at the conference was to die for.
Thank you so much and I am excited to go back!
Absolutely amazing hotel. The rooms are clean, bright, and spacious. We had a room with an unbeatable view of the harbor - we even got to see a heron frequent the shellfish beds in front of the hotel! Staff was excellent and made our stay great, and were so helpful when we forgot something in the room after checking out. The restaurant was delicious and we were always able to quickly get a table. They...
Had a dinner sent to our room with wine, it was fantastic.
We had awesome service from all the staff that we interacted with at the hotel.

Victoria, 122 Simcoe Street 🧭 Map
This was such a lovely place with beautiful decor. The interior has little touches that made it feel very welcoming. The place was spacious and clean. We had an amazing time and it very much exceeded our expectations!
Location is excellent, right in the heart of Victoria. Nice and quite neighbourhood. The cottages are colourful with a lot of character, beautiful landscaping. Well stocked kitchen utensils, appliances.
Comfortable and attractive surroundings, friendly hosts and close to downtown. We walked there our first evening for dinner.
The suite was bright with lots of windows and the garden areas were beautiful. We sat outside every afternoon and read our books.
The bed was comfortable and the shower had lots of hot water. There were a few breakfast options including fresh fruit and cereal or pancakes...
Had a wonderful stay here with my husband! Ned and his wife provided top class customer service! The cottage we stayed in was so quaint and had all the amenities needed. Enjoyed making eggs and pancakes with the provided breakfast! Would highly recommend this B&B! Would defiantly stay here again! Thanks for everything!
Lovely!! Close to the pier. Walkable distance to downtown. Very clean, owner is on-site and very gracious. Outside seating in lovingly maintained garden. I recommend this place absolutely.
In 1995 my husband and I stayed in the Cottage at Heathergate House and loved it. I had the wonderful opportunity to stay there again recently with three family members. It was as lovely as it was before! The outside courtyard/garden is absolutely beautiful and is the perfect place to have a cup of coffee before heading out for a day of sightseeing. The cottage itself is clean, spacious, comfortable...

Close to the small ferries and government house. Close to downtown. Pool was outdoors and really enjoyable. Hot tub was hot. Breakfast on site was delicious everyday we were there. Room was perfect for me, my daughter and 2 grandsons. Little kitchenette of you felt like making something in your room or hearing up left overs from lunch. Really enjoyed the hotel and the staff were very helpful. Will...
The rooms were exceptionally clean with housekeeping being very attentive and friendly. The views were very nice. The service was excellent, but the breakfast was willfully meager and disappointing. Considering the other hotels in the area that serve excellent breakfast there's no excuse for the repetitive and unappetizing breakfast that was served in the six days I stayed there.
Rooms are very clean, lots of space, but a little dated and could use a bit of a refresh. Staff were really friendly and very helpful. The location is fantastic! The included breakfast was decent. Aside from the lumpy pillows the beds are comfortable.
My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights during our recent BC trip. We were fortunate to get a large end room on an upper floor with two balconies. The room was bright, comfortable and quiet. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The included hot breakfast was good and the location was excellent for sightseeing in Victoria.
It was a comfortable & excellent stay in the convenient/ best located hotel at central pier. Rooms are big, hygienic with amenities like sofa cum bed, microwave, fridge, cooking range, tea/coffee making m/c with two accessible balconies. The breakfast was nice & tasty. In lobby, complimentary Coffee making machine & drinking water facilities are praise worthy. The Gentleman at reception was very courteous...
We enjoyed having the hotel location near downtown and the harbor of Victoria. Loved the complimentary kitchenette. We only found out later, during check out, that there was on the premises a self serve guest laundry facility.
