The environment is first-class, in the heart of the old city port area, across the street from the city's landmark Parliament Building. However, the facilities are a bit old, especially the air conditioner, which is a bit noisy. Some waiters have good service attitudes.

Fairmont seems to be a luxurious five star hotel. Nevertheless it’s a bit over-expected. The room is very small, and the toilet can only be used by one single person each time, which is very inconvenient if you go with young kids. High tea quality is unexpectedly low, the environment is good but the staff are not enough. The food is simply not delicate for such a renowned five star restaurant.

We have stayed at this hotel 5 times this year between May and August and have loved every single night. The staff are friendly, they remember your face, and your preferences! We always feel welcomed. The spa like environment creates a tranquil space that allows your mind and body to just relax. The relaxation pool and hot tubs are fantastic and with the 16+ age restriction the space is calm.

Overall was a good stay. There are a few things to note that we found were disappointing and inconvenient. There were no locks on the bathroom door which was weird. Beautiful property with an outstanding ocean view. The rooms are very comfortable, and each come equipped with a large bathtub and separate shower. The heated mineral pools are amazing. I went here for a work christmas party and nearly every part of the whole experience was amazing. Truly some of the best food I've had. BUT to be fully honest, the beef was not good at all. So chewy that if you went to take a bite of your beautiful sandwich that you just assembled, you wouldn't be able to pull away and you'd be stuck gnawing until something gives.

Location was amazing - walking distance to everything but far enough away to be peaceful (including the clip clopping of hooves as the carriage rides passed by). Also it is amazing to stay in a historic building. Having a cafe and restaurant in the basement was an added bonus.

Beautifully kept historic building. Location is excellent! The staff all love the hotel and are wonderful to talk to. Rooms are nicer, cleaner and better than some of the big hotels. This is a must visit hotel. Yes, Emily Carr had lived here and died here. Fascinating to be a part of such an amazing part of Canadian history. We loved our stay.

The menu is fantastic, they have a great beer selection and amazing prices. The staff were warm and welcoming and very friendly. Overall our stay was pleasant but our toilet was clogged. We couldnt use the washroom for a while. I had to try to unclog it myself with a plunger (not my idea of a nice time in a hotel) but it didnt work. After a while, hopefuly, someone came to unclog it. My room was not cleaned. I found out in the afternoon and informed the hotel, but they did not tell me that the cleaner had gone off duty. I had to go to the front desk to ask for new towels. The service was zero.

The hotel facilities are average and clean. Disposable facilities such as slippers, combs, toothbrushes, etc. are not provided. There is no bottled water or kettle. It is wise to upgrade to a view room for an extra fee. The only bright spot is that the hotel is in an excellent location, facing the street view in the city center.

It's quite clean, and it's very convenient to walk on the beach. The sea view is also nice. But if you drive a large off-road vehicle, the hotel parking lot cannot park there, and you have to park in a public parking lot some distance from the hotel. Overall, it feels good.

Having stayed there for several days over the past 5 years, I can admit it's an excellent, quite, clean and worthy choice. The staff will not bother you at all, always there to help you. I enjoyed their free-for-all jacuzzi and pool. Nice place near Elk Lake and Saanich. Bus stop almost outside.

Had a great experience here and I've never seen a hotel so accommodating to pets. We had a room with outdoor access and they prepared it by covering the couch with a sheet and provided a spare towel for our 4 legged family member. It definitely made us feel welcome and happy to stay.

The restaurant is great, it's called The Lakes and they have good breakfasts. The dinner is alright, but I like them mostly for breakfast/brunch. They can be really busy around noon, so the earlier the better.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this Inn. The decor was like something out of a movie or magazine and the staff were so nice and attentive. Marketa's B&B is charming with character, located in the quiet and lovely James Bay area. The rooms are clean and beds so comfortable! We stayed in the basement suite and it was so private. Separate entrance and keys were provided, along with a private smoking area and delicious daily baked goods made by the host herself. Unfortunately we only stayed one night in this beautiful B&B. We had the "Serengeti" and the "Hemingway" suite. Both were very lovely and cozy. Charly and Patti are very friendly and have a lot of tips for places to visit. If we come back to Victoria we will definitely book this B&B again!

I found my stay at HI Victoria to be great. The staff were friendly and helpful and the whole place was quite clean. Yeah, it's right on Yates and across the street from Lucky, so there's a good amount of noise at night but that's what earplugs are for. The breakfast was typical hostel fare. My bed was comfortable and the locker was a $5 deposit, of which $4 were returned on check-out.

Was kept awake by people yelling outside every night. The dorms are very large with up to 20 beds. The carpet in the dorm is badly stained and I would rather have Linoleum in a dorm, so the floors could be mopped. The kitchen compost was really piling up and it appeared it was only emptied once per week, since there were five, five gallon pails. This is unsanitary as the compost was decomposing...
