Where to stay in Platres

Vintage and beautiful. A "Forest" paradise in the mountains. Old, mature and full of history. It's my second time staying at Forest Park hotel. Stayed during winter, it was snowing and it was magical. This time it was summer and it was as beautiful as it gets. The smell of trees in the summer, listening to the soft wind passing through the trees. Just calmness. But the summer heat is strong this time...

Me and my friends were out here for 2 nights. We found in the toilet cupboard smashed wood that made holes and we found dirt in them, we obviously didn't put anything in there. Then I had my other friends tell me that their mattress was filled with dust and hair. The doorknobs barely worked, we had to put a nightstand to properly close and some keys opened other rooms. The hotel is quite old, and while the room had air-conditioning and a nice shower, there wasn’t really anything special about it. The breakfast was limited and didn’t offer much variety, which was disappointing. I also feel the hotel is overpriced for what it provides. The location and the view from the windows are stunning with all the pine trees right next to the balconies and the mountain views all around. We stayed here only 1 night. The hotel is right at the centre of Troodos and it's a very comfortable place. We booked a suite and it had a stunning view. The food at the restaurant were we had dinner was good and the breakfast was amazing with a wide variety of food.

Only dined in the restaurant after being in the mountains. Food was lovely and reasonably priced. Negative: waiters weren’t really on the ball - friendly enough, but they seemed to forget we were there and forgot half our order and we had to (eventually) get their attention to get the rest of our food. A stunning hotel in the lovely village of Lofou. We stayed here for 3 nights in late June and Apokryfo was a beautiful oasis from the high summer heat. Amazing place! The hotel has been operational since 1945, and you can really feel its history—in a good way! It’s super clean, the Wi-Fi works perfectly, and the owner is wonderful. We also enjoyed the breakfast (8 euros extra). The view from the balcony was stunning. Really, I can’t recommend it enough.

The price/performance ratio is good. It is cool to live in the mountains. The elderly are at the front desk and can speak English. The price is worthy of the surrounding environment. There are resorts nearby for those with high requirements (the price is 150 euros per night). This hotel is quite cozy to live in

To say we got a room at all on christmas day is almost beyond belief. Stayed in this older style hotel for two nights while in the mountains. Really nice breakfast in the grape vine covered court yard. Nice little pool overlooking the village. In November we made two different reservations, beginning and end of the month, they gave us almost the same room, i.e. it was 223, then 225, the rooms have air conditioning and heating, all controlled by the management, if they want, they can set this provision for you!! This resort is several kilometres from the sea, shops and restaurants. There is a limited local bus service, but realistically having a car is essential. There is a restaurant on site. It was closed for the 21 nights we were at the resort. Staff having Covid was the official excuse, but this because of the length of closure was clearly not the real reason.

We have recently returned from two-week stay at Club Aphrodite. It's a mature resort, by which I mean the rooms reflect the time they were built two or three decades ago. We booked a two bed unit which turned out to be on the ground floor in a separate building across and down the road from the main complex. It had no view except of a car park and road, was soulless with very little decoration and had uncomfortable beds. There are no two bed units in the main complex apparantly! The hotel has a nice pool and is surrounded by a beautiful garden. Rooms are large and comfortable and have an interesting vintage style. Air condition works fine. But, hotel is located in an isolated area, far from everything with the hotel’s restaurant not always open.

The Episkopiana hotel is located in the outskirts of Episkopi village near the city of Limassol. The popular Kourion beach is approximately 3km away. It's a plain hotel and somewhat dated in need of renovation. It has an outdoor pool and restaurant. The pool bar makes nice frappee coffee and the staff is friendly.

It's a lovely hotel, but not the best (even not the middle) in the Cyprus. Air conditioning is the worst I have ever seen before, you better buy about 5 huge water bottles not to drain up absolutely.

Quiet village location far from the tourist crowd and within walking distance of 2 excellent meze tavernas (and 1 not so excellent) this is a diamond on my travel itinerary. WOW! I stayed at the Alasia for 4 nights on business on recommendation from my client. From start to finish I had the most exceptional stay. The main factor to my stay was the perfect service I received from every member of staff. Nestled in the neighbourhoods of Germasogeia village, away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist area. Otherwise, a friendly service, very clean and tidy. reception is always eager to help. Breakfast offered was a buffer with a good selection.

Great location and service from staff

The contactless check-in process was easy. The room was spacious and well decorated but could do with better sound proofing. Now the noises from the street kept us up during the night. The bathroom had an unpleasent smell. The hair dryer was out of order. Overall an ok experience considering the fairly reasonable pricing.
