This is a great Hotel to stay if you want to explore the region of the Ammergau Alps. The service at the hotel is impeccable and the people of the region are very friendly to tourists. This is a quaint hotel right in front of the mountain "Hörnle" - a great area to Ski and sleigh ride. We stayed at this hotel for 8 days. The service was very good, the breakfast excellent. The room was of a good standard, as was the bathroom, if a little on the small side. The location in the village is very quiet and only a few hundred meters from the "center". We will be back, especially because of the rich and high quality breakfast.

Wonderful stay with friendly and helpful staff, quiet location with mountain view right across the street. Sauna available from 3-8pm is a treat after a day in the outdoors. Arrived at the hotel early evening and the service wasn't great. The receptionists seemed on edge. The room was spacious, however it wasn't as clean as I'd expect. It was a very nice hotel. Nice air conditioning and I like the classic Bavarian style. There was a thai man visiting during my stay and when I went to check out, suddenly he had his guards arrest me! Long ago this location was a flour mill, now a luxury hotel and spa in Garmisch. Rooms were clean, bed firm. They have a small gym, and many spa services. The bar has a decent selection of spirits, wine and beer. There is a lovely walking path along the river.

If I don't drive, I can take the train to EIBSEE and then buy a cable car ticket...

The hotel is very nice and convenient

Everything was great. A small point to note is that there is no air conditioning for the room during winter season, hence you’ll have to leave the windows open as it gets a little stuffy overtime.

This hotel has great amenities for family vacation, the restaurant and bar atmosphere are great, but the small rooms are the problem, nobody likes tinny rooms, no AC just heating, no safe, no place for the bags, no amenities kit for the bathroom. Another problem is the front desk team, many of them barely speak English and sometimes have to work as receptionist and sales person for the Nivea store...

Decent price to performance ratio for hotels in the area. Sauna and pool area are very nice and enjoyable. Rooms were remarkably average, but had a nice view out the window. Breakfast was average, definitely not the greatest spread when compared to breakfast at other hotels in Germany. Only about a 7 minute walk to the Christmas market, so location isn’t bad at all. Its a 450 year old hotel so you don't have air conditioning. But they do give fans. Otherwise it is beautiful. You are living in history. Service is great. The location is amazing!

The hotel is very attractive and our room was large with a lovely balcony overlooking the garden and mountains. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Downside it was far too hot in our room at night even with the windows open.

Historic hotel Old but historic hotel with the bath being renovated. Furnitures look more than two hundreds old, including bed frame. But bed mattress are firm and comfort. Overall A- grade.

We loved our stay here. The staff was so helpful and the restaurant on the property was excellent. We ate there both nights and for breakfast during our stay. It was easy to walk to the square which had dining shopping and even a little entertainment. Highly recommend. Comfy room and beds!

Lovely hotel with lovely staff We stayed for a ski holiday and really loved the hotel. The staff were lovely, they had a shuttle which ran to the slopes every morning and afternoon and made it really easy to get around. They were super accommodating and helpful, had everything we needed for our stay. Food was great, robes and spa are great and views are gorgeous. A real gem!!
