This hotel deserves 5stars. Every corner radiates with beauty and a dedication to detail and quality. I can highly recommend it to anyone looking for peace and solace from the nature. Book it with halfboard direct from its website (for two nights at least). It gives you a much better deal.

I was in Johannesbad for a short break. Very nice rooms, good comfortable beds, safe, minibar, etc. Dogs welcome. Fantastic, rich breakfast buffet. Very nice, friendly and courteous owners, always available for a chat. The staff are also very nice and friendly. Very good cosmetic treatments and massages. Very good for hiking from the hotel. I would love to come back ..

Very good food and family owned atmosphere. My room was very nice and I also like the pool and sauna area. You have the choice of a take away lunch instead of breakfast. I liked that because I had to leave early in the morning.

The staff is really forthcoming and nice, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, what prevents this venue from getting 5 stars is the quality of the food offered here. Breakfast was fine and the fish was also good at lunch and dinner, but the meat and especially the vegetables were too greasy.

for a foreign person this would be the most proper touristic experience in terms of the surrounding area

Nice clean spacious room, awesome wellness area, we enjoyed it there and plan to stay there in the summer as well. I only do not understand why was the breakfast on our check-out day (sunday) richer than previous days, for me it was a bit disppointing. But it was great anyway, thanks.

We stayed at this hotel for 8 days. The service was very good, the breakfast excellent. The room was of a good standard, as was the bathroom, if a little on the small side. The location in the village is very quiet and only a few hundred meters from the "center". We will be back, especially because of the rich and high quality breakfast.

We spent two wonderful nights at Hotel am Wiesenhang. Will highly recommend it! The service was perfect, super friendly reception and breakfast was great. Especially during pandemic, I feel really comfortable with the measurements they took, mask in the hotel, gloves at the breakfast buffet, distancing and individual time slots allocated to 2 maximum people at the sauna area. Germans love the place, but for Americans it may take awhile. You have to be here for the German spa experience: the healthful atmosphere (and what that implies for breakfast) with sauna, pool, mudpacks, massage, lymph drainage, etc. If you're not, stay in a guesthouse or ordinary hotel. The owners are wonderful, but unless you're up for hiking, biking, and an active lifestyle visit it may seem a bit...

Firstly, the Staff, very hospitable, friendly and helpful. The Sauna was amazing, we paid extra for the private sauna and it was very nice. plenty of parking and in a good location to see all kinds of beautiful nature

This is a great Hotel to stay if you want to explore the region of the Ammergau Alps. The service at the hotel is impeccable and the people of the region are very friendly to tourists. You will start your day with an amazing breakfast buffet and then you can either hike the Alps, hit the slopes or relax at the Spa!!! We will be back again soon!

This is a quaint hotel right in front of the mountain "Hörnle" - a great area to Ski and sleigh ride. They have a 4.5km long sleigh hill which you can ride down 🙌🏽 The food for the region is very hearty and filling from home made Spätzle to Schnitzel you can eat anything your hear desires st their in house restaurant. I can't actually remember my stay

Very clean! good breakfast! However, pool, sauna, game room close at 1900. All local restaurants prefer reservations.

It's ok I guess because there was NO wifi even though they advertise it it is a very weak signal and the food was pretty good

A pleasant upscale hotel with friendly, English speaking staff, a decent cafe and bar, great breakfast and terrible internet.

Typical winter Bavarian hotel, you can have a sauna after the cold day, and if you'd like a beer at the evening simply go down in the restaurant

Wonderful, family run place, built in a wood rich Bavarian style. Everything works perfectly, from the top notch, personalized service to the bathrooms (wonderful water pressure at the showers!) to the many, savory options for a really rich and healthy breakfast. A true haven to relax and recharge

Super nice and courteous staff! Very warm atmosphere with unexpectedly modern rooms! The proximity to the Hörnle-Bahn is ideal! Dogs are also welcome (and not just tolerated). We got a room on the ground floor with a terrace and on arrival a dog blanket and a bowl were already in the room.

Andrea of Alpen Gastehaus Gerold is the absolutely the best. We spent 8 glorious days and 7 nights in the Alpen Studio that had very comfortable beds with an amazing view of the Bavarian majestic mountains from our balcony. Everything you could need was provided and we really enjoyed making some of our meals in a well equipped kitchen. Their is a newly opened Edeka supermarket across the street too...

I was there in July 2022 for 2 nights with my family. The room was perfect. The bathroom was clean and the hairdryer was able there. Furthermore, breakfast was very tasty. As for the owners, they were very friendly and helpful. I can recommend this place.

A beautiful location.🌄 The rooms were good.🛏 Decent sized bathroom🛁 and a mini-fridge, and we had a little balcony to take in a more panoramic view🏞 of the amazing view of the mountains. In the morning the breakfast was a pretty standard☕ & The lady staff were very nice friendly as well. 😊😊

Andrea and her family were absolutely lovely! She went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as pleasant as possible. The breakfast is insane; for 7 Euros you get pretty much all the bread, cheese, cold cuts, jams, etc that you could eat! Great place to stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was great, super helpful and accommodating. The breakfast is probably the best you'll get anywhere in Germany.

Very quiet location, great farm, with lots of space and a wide view. Very nice and friendly family, we felt very comfortable. We were able to store our bikes safely. Ms. Onnich always suggested the best goals of the day for breakfast, which we were very happy to include in our daily planning. If we go on holiday in this region again, we will definitely ask again!

Our first holiday on a farm around March this year was super relaxing! The host family is wonderfully relaxed and natural with a loving Bavarian manner. They were always at our side with tips on the region and gastronomy, as well as sights. Great for a vacation with small children. Lots of animals to see, and pet, very nice playground next to the house and 5min on foot an adventure playground as well. Hosts are very friendly and welcoming, breakfast was also good. All in all a warm recommendation.

I think they did a great job of making their usual super buffet breakfast FEEL like a buffet when one must order from a manu instead. Food is still excellent with super service. They handle Covid-19 as well as possible.

Loved it. The hotel is very welcoming, on a fantastic location and allows you to relax completly. There is a wide variety of services and all of them are very good. They also allow dogs so you can bring your pet with you and have walks around the location. The only downside is that english is not always available in some places.

Quaint, typically Bavarian hotel with restaurant. The staff is very friendly and courteous and always with a smile. Our room was very clean and nicely furnished, with everything you need. The kitchen does an excellent job as our dinner was fantastic. So if you are looking for a cozy hotel with very good cuisine in a quiet location, this is the right place for you. Menu is only available in German, and waiter doesn't speak English. Normal Bayerish food. Does not accept any of the major credit cards.

We stayed here as it was near the mountains and offered a less expensive alternative to the hotels around Neuschwanstein Castle. This inn was halfway between the castle and the ski town of Garmisch Parten-Kirchen and you can easily reach the mountains from here too.
