Mercure Hotel am Münster

We spent two nights in Freiburg at this hotel. The town is beautiful and we had a great visit. So much to do and see. The market on the church square was beautiful on Saturday morning.

A couple of things to know. It is a short walk to the hotel from the train but recommend you take the city tram. It lets off very close to the hotel. We walked but one of our luggage wheels did not survive the journey over the cobble stone streets.

The room was nice but there was insufficient cooling and it was warm at night for sleeping.

The hotel location is perfect for walking to most city attractions but the city rail will take you just about everywhere. A couple day pass is a good idea and inexpensive.

Do not opt for the breakfast buffet. There are cheaper and better options for breakfast close by. One breakfast restaurant on the square near the church in the center of town was especially nice but can’t recall the name.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend a stay.

I like staying at Mercure Hotels since you know what you’re paying for.

Rooms are always clean and tidy. Spacious enough for all people staying. I stayed at a double room and it was really nice. The bathroom was very modern and you have tea and coffee in your room. The pillows were not very comfortable and the mattress was quite hard.

One of the things I dislike about some hotels are the carpets, which get pretty dirty with time. At the hotel this is also sadly the case.

The service and hotel personnel were amazing! Super helpful and friendly all the time. You feel under great hands.

The breakfast ist a continental breakfast but I must say the coffee was terrible. Maybe because of the coffee machine.

Other than that I really enjoyed my stay here! Great location near everything in Freiburg and if they fix some small few details it would have a perfect score. Would gladly come back.

The hotel is in a good location, with a parking lot underground, but the service is a bit average. My colleague told the front desk that he would check out one day in advance, and they agreed. But after checking out, the hotel called to claim the money.

A modern hotel in the town centre. Very helpful staff who speak fluent English. Rooms are clean and spacious with TV, desk and coffee making facilities and a complimentary bottle of water. The beds are suitable for back sufferers and there is plenty of wardrobe space and a safe also. The ensuite is very spacious as well and clean. Although central the rooms are very quiet. The hotel serves breakfast in the morning. Recommended.

This was a special trip; after many nights away from home for work this year, my wife and I finally got to spend some time together on a holiday. I shared this with the hotel team before our arrival and they really looked after us. The room, the service and everything was just awesome and we had a fantastic six night stay as part of our trip. I’d stay here again tomorrow!
The hotel is brilliantly located on the edge of the Altstadt (Old Town), with a park house in the complex. Freiburg im Breisgau is a fantastic place; the sites, the people and the feel of the place are just awesome, and this hotel is a great base from which to take it all in.

Great stay! Staff is attentive and friendly. They went beyond by leaving us nice treats for my husband's birthday, which was much appreciated! The room is of a good size with all one might need for a city getaway. Very cosy room, despite it being on the city center, it was surprisingly quiet, nice for a couple of light sleepers. Good decor throughout the rooms and hotel. The breakfast had plenty of options hot/cold/fruits/cereals and different types of delicious bread/bretzel, great tasting coffee. The view from the breakfast room is gorgeous this time of year (fall). Overall, a very enjoyable experience, thoroughly recommended!
